@@idkjames The only team who sold out (I mean for the season) was The Las Vegas Aces. People just come online and make things up. Go do your research. Clark, Angel and Cardosa had sold out jerseys, that’s it. There has been a significant increase in tickets sales for both organizations though. You see the extreme price increase when they play each other and even that game isn’t sold out, yet.

Nobody wanted to play The Aces because they’re too good, so they had no preseason wnba game hence the parentheses. Angel has had a significant impact. Her impact compelled The W to not only issue an apology to the fans but televise her team’s game. That’s unprecedented. Millions of people watched the Sky game on Twitter, IMPACT! As it stands, Chicago Sky v. Minnesota Lynx and LA Sparks v. Seattle Storm are the biggest attendance games in preseason.
It's about the Rookie class. They need to get with the times

It is a Caitlin Clark effect, I have never watch a wnba in my life and I watch some of her preseason game. When is the last time a player has been this talked about? There will always be issues with race but this isn’t one of them. Their preseason game was sold out!!!
I think Caitlin Clark is the only player that has "Preseason" kind of pull. Angel Reese has some pull too. Reese fans were upset not getting to watch her on TV. But if you look at the audience at the Sky game, there isn't many people there. So that is the truth of the situation.

It's about broadcasting right. It was negotiated 2 years ago. The local tv broadcaster (BallyTV north) was broadcasting Minnesota twins. There's nothing WNBA could do about it.

For the consumer, entertainment should be the focus BUT the active players know it's a Business. Off the court issues often dictate what happens on court and that's not just the WNBA, that's sports. We, as fans, are not asked to be participants in the issues, but fans are passionate and sports are often used as a metaphor for life.

People are complaining about other players not getting as much media attention as Caitlin when she is the reason that women's basketball and other players have been getting media attention in the first place. Angel and Kamilla are only popular with blacks and fans of LSU and SC, and those people are only making a big deal about them because they are upset about them not getting the same media attention as Caitlin. They aren't going to be traveling long distances and paying high ticket prices to see them play like many of Caitlin's fans do for her.
Please look in the SC and LSU stands - NOT filled by black fans only. SC has led the NCAA for the past 9-10 years in attendance and the fans aren’t only black. SC fans travel to Paris, France. Please rethink your statement. Yes, CC is bringing fans to WNBA but she isn’t the only one. Give the other talented players credit. This current draft class is special.

Equality is important, but only because it is important to respect the inherent dignity of all people. When it comes to a craft like the game of basketball, however, where Caitlin is simply better than her peers, and more entertaining to watch, it simply makes no sense to demand equality in this context. We as fans are under no obligation to enjoy watching players who are not as skilled or entertaining as Caitlin. Sorry, her *game* is more fun to watch.
Since I’ve been watching. I’ve already seen better players in the WNBA than Clark. The media hype one person and y’all swear they’re the best because she’s the focal point. But in reality they’re mediocre or one dimensional. Obviously ppl want to watch Chicago Sky and the WNBA in general since 200k was live on Twitter tuning in. What would be the point of watching one team all season? How would anyone really keep up with the league in its entirety?
I will say Caitlyn has the POTENTIAL with development to be a great pro. She needs to learn to play defense and not get so frustrated when length is in front of her. That’s what caused her to lose back to back championships on the collegiate level. She can’t handle a good defensive player with length, for some reason she gets flustered. The good thing is that can be worked on, so can her defense and a few minor things and she’ll be a menace!!! I’m looking forward to watching her and the other rookies journeys. ❤️❤️❤️

Absolutely, none of the uproar is Clark’s fault nor Reese (since she’s been a theme of topic in the comments here.) You’re missing a caveat though because nuance matters. Minnesota had more people in attendance as opposed to to Dallas. So the same would’ve been applicable to the Fever if they played in a 20,000 capacity venue. It would have in fact been more sparce since attendance was over 6,000 in Dallas.

I don't think these women are hating on Caitlyn Clark at all. I think you should watch the video in its entirety. They bring up a really good point about "access". The marketing of Caitlyn has made her more accessible. Marketing when her first WNBA game will be and it being streamed on the WNBA app give fans so much more access to her. If other players in the WNBA had similar marketing their probability of selling out games and increasing revenue for the team would be much higher.

Problem here is that the WNBA had zero decision and zero to do with what wnba preseason game was and was not broadcast. That was a decision made by the cable TV people. They chose to air a major league baseball game instead of a WNBA preseason game and, as a result the Chicago Sky game was not televised. The problem with negative commentary about Caitlin Clark is that way too many people involved with the WNBA comment without knowing the facts. This is a perfect example of that. This had nothing to do with the WNBA office. I am sure if they had their way, every game would be broadcast to every market. At some point, the podcast vididiots are either going to realize that a high tide lifts all boats and embrace that high tide rather than whining. In what should be the WNBA's finest moment to date, you can go on youtube and count more videos that are negative toward the "W" than are positive toward the "W." That is pathetic.

They bring it up because the impact of race is a reality. For example, look at the numbers of white, particularly male, fans that CC is bringing to the game. If half of just those white men would be willing to support black female players, imagine the impact. White male BB fans will watch black men (college, NBA) play but are much less likely to watch black women.
