@@andrewnguyen3675 Sorry for such a late reply! I am most excited for the welcoming and passionate Blue Devil community. Also those basketball games. Moving in tomorrow!
It's been a while! I was wondering, would you be interested in being in a large video I'll be working on in the near future? If so, please dm me on instagram @and.rewnguyen
Marvelous video. The really great thing is (although unrealized by you at the moment) the magic of Dukes lasts. It will carry on with you into graduate school, throughout your career, and even into retirement. As I sit here wearing my newest Duke sweatshirt, vividly re-living memories through your video, I thank you for your time and effort. Well done. Best of luck to you, Andrew. Hi Joanna! For food nearby, popular locations are on 9th Street and in Downtown Durham. I'd say the cost of food is pretty comparable to other college towns I've been to. If you want to check out some of the restaurants and their menus, I'd look around more online since a bunch of them have their menus available online! Also, there's some nearby restaurants that can even deliver food to you on your Food Points. For apartments... Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm assuming you're an undergrad? During non-COVID years, only 4th year students can live off campus as on campus housing is required for all 1-3rd years. So it wouldn't be something you'll have to think about for a little while. From what I've seen and heard, there's a bit of variety in cost and conditions, but it tends to be cheaper than on campus housing. The only exceptions to this that I've personally seen are the nicer apartments near West Campus, some of which are comparable in price to living on campus. Also, most of the off campus apartments are off Duke's East Campus, so that might be something to consider too especially if you don't have a car. Hope this helps!
@@andrewnguyen3675 thank you so much for your detailed answer ! Well I will be a grad student, so I will have to get my apartment, for example I have read about University Apartments but after asking for some reviews, they say they would never recommend those apartments. If you know about some other affordable apartments please let me know! And good luck with your studies :D
@@joannahuertas2763 Good luck to you too! I've only seen Belmont, Brightleaf, Station Nine, Trinity Commons, and probably a few other places, but whether or not they're affordable... I wouldn't know because I've been on campus during my time at Duke so far. Sorry about that!
I'm not sure if you want to hear my advice, but whatever your opportunities are now and in the future, I think the best thing we can do is just make the most of what we have, and treat the people around us as best we can :))
Hope you want to be a doctor because Biology while a great gateway to Medical School is a useless degree otherwise…well at least you have the minor in Chinese music to fall back on..lol
I’m a rising freshman at Duke. This vid is great. Thanks for showing me what attending Duke is like for you.
Congrats, and I hope you enjoy your Duke experience! If you ever have any questions, please let me know! :)
What makes you most excited about coming to Duke?

I am going to Duke next year! Could you please give some information about the cost of food and apartments nearby?
