Syd’s vocals on this are so good wow

@@Arbes_ exactly what I was thinking
@@Arbes_ Respectful nod to peers then Syd progressed to his own style.

I'm impressed with this album I didn't know that exists is just beautiful psychedelic master piece Syd is the ultimate blues and psychedelic man
......They actually sound like they're *having fun!!* :o
(I knew there must've been a time! .......And to hear Syd in top form is WONDERFUL!!) :D
Who's here 2019? Shine On!!
me! Cheers!
Yo
Pink Floyd forever. 2019 and beyond. Keep on pollinatin' no hesitatin' Katie 🐝 Bee!

This is absolutely amazing. I’m a lifelong lover of Floyd and Barrett both together and apart. I never knew this group of visionary songs had existed, let alone hear it. There’s no way to say how grateful I am for this upload. I am hearing tight brand new music by Syd Barrett and his magnificent Pink Floyd.
Believe me, I'm a Floyd lover, particularly of the early stuff, but I don't get the "visionary" part. It all sounds highly derivative to me and I feel no desire to ever hear it again. The one song that Julliette Gale was singing in was a little more deep lyrically, I suppose, but the rest? I might as well hit random on my TimeLife collection of music from the '60;s.
I had the same reaction. Grateful indeed.
@@garycitro1674 But from what part of the 60s and from which bands? Maybe what you have been hearing was derivative of the Floyd? That was certainly the case later on.
@@ZigSputnik Most of this stuff is just generic pop-rock and blues music from that era. "I'm a King Bee" is even a cover
66 and this happens in 2022...?
Phil Manzanera brought me here.

Lucy Leave correct lyrics : "Seein' as I'm so....." Syd's howlin' vocals on this are the absolute, phenomenal best!
I happen to be a rock and roll fan so this speaks to me like no other Floyd ever has, most of the fans of their other later works may not like this at all and that is o/k with me we all have our likes and dislikes, but this one is my fav by a country mile
Syd sounds very charismatic.
I was vaguely aware of these songs but had never heard them. Early Floyd is my favourite era, from "Piper..." up to "Meddle". Though, obvs I love all their work. Thankyou so much for the upload. This is a treat. Appreciate!!!
That note from 'Echoes' at 14:40
Nahh
and its on the last song to the album O:
What an absolutely brilliant album, never felt something touch me like this.
Novità assoluta per me....che seguo Pink Floyd dal 1972....grazie UA-cam.....😉
The best Floyd is early Floyd.
Rachel Woods right on!
Roy Woodby at least someone agrees with me!!
I agree in a way but think there like two totally different groups! Pipers is a master piece just as the wall is, its a tough choice,
Rachel Woods -Agreed
Agreed, too. Syd was more spontaneous, less conventional. I wish they had continued as a 5-piece band with Syd and David together, though.
So magical!
So naively crazy!
In the end, so tender that…
it really moved me 😑. How much sincere creativity,
how much imagination and how much hope...
I used to listen to them when I was 17, now I'm 60.
💙 It's a great emotion. Thank you.
I am here and I love Syd Barrett
Michelle i like your comment , i adore these guys Syd Barrett walks on water ,, Pink Floyed have been part of my life since their beginning , Thats a very long time , until eternity xx Jane xx
wow... love the lyrics and sound of 'walk with me sydney'!
Obviously, talking about diseases and the brains-- its Roger Waters' lyric
@@BM-vi5hk lmaooo
Gosh....😊 Syd's voice singing I'm a King Bee is the ultimate high.........a-a-h-h! Unforgetable.
The 60s British music is amazing
Lucy Leave is brilliant. It should have been a single.
It was their single, wasn’t it?
Sounds like a Velvet Underground song that never was.
@@thebigjimmyd was never released as a single. and though it was bootlegged, it didn’t really have a proper release until 2015.
@@sashwap Interesting. It's a solid 60s tune. Probably would've charted in the UK.
This technically isn't even Pink Floyd, this is "The Tea Set". Three Floyd members are on it, Rado Klose on guitar. David Gilmour came later.
Hopefully this will be released again on a bigger scale so that us lowly mortals can afford to own a copy!
that 'double o bo' cut is just of the charts insanely good...the guitar hits at those breaks is just something else
Agreed. I'm guessing that is Bob Klose. Syd wasn't that quick and it doesn't sound like his playing style.
This is true fun and the love of music. Obviously this is long before the LSD crowd got a hold of Syd's mind. He was so cool and they fed him too much too often. Syd Barrett is a tragedy. 💛 love Syd!
Lucy literally means LSD lol. They all did acid. The problem was Syd's overall mental health. The fact is Roger waters couldn't wait a year to make money. When he was bald and everything he was sober but just acknowledging of them kinda pushing him out from the start from a distaste of his child likeness. He will forever be. Pink Floyd to me. 🖤
@Ezekial Alvarado thank you. This is how I feel as well. You put it so succinctly.
On this album , Syd has mental lucidity....his problems began approximately with the single ´´See emily play´´....during 1967......Greetings from Argentina
this song is very obviously about relatiomships not LSD.@@ezekialalvarado2444
Butterfly could fit into piper at the gates of dawn this is the start of Syd's original sound amazing
The first song is really great.
Awesome!!!!!! Syd is n' will always be the king ..so full of talent 😎
He is and always will be the best ever. I love Syd barrett he is my heart and soul. All of his works are incredible genius and most unique.
a king bee.
The most beautiful soul. King of kings😘
Syd is my idol.
All your comments warm my heart. I've been a Syd fan for over 9 years now. He's the reason I picked up guitar and still want to form a band.
the year I was born in Brazil, I keep imagining the streets of London at that time, John, Mick and Syd bumping into each other, a lot of inspiration per square meter
His voice sounds so crisp and smooth on king bee
Classic early recording here wow! So very mid 60s garage rock psychedelic here!
It's the beginning most of us never got a chance to hear! I wish it was longer. First floyd album, whatever they woulda called it, 1965, and then piper woulda been the second album in 67. That woulda been awesome!
Wow, the lead guitar in “Lucy Leave” reminds me of that in “Louie, Louie”…
OMG, I've only ever heard Lucy Leave and I'm a King Bee. I had no idea the other songs existed! This is Syd when he had power, expression and enthusiasm (PRE-LSD) in his voice.
Lsd was a big part, but mandrax was the real mind killer.
@Lonely Stoner About a girl, probably.
Lucy in the sky with diamonds wasn't out for a couple more years.
When I first listened to Pink Floyd it was post Syd Barett days. Love the evolution of Pink Floyd!
It took a while for PF to get over Syd. I gave up on them after Ummagumma.
Pourquoi ?@@speedysteve9121
His solo albums are worth more then gold you cannot buy songs like these Opel is my favourite of all I see the sea and i am blown away
WOW! I'm like everybody else saying "where the heck did this come from"! Excellent!
1. Lucy Leave
Leave, when I ask you to leave Lucy
Please, far away from me Lucy
Oh, go little girl
Seen, is oh so broken up about you, Lucy
Mean, treat me and done me harm, Lucy
Been in love with you and your charms, Lucy
Oh, go little girl
I'm in love with you
Lucy
You got my heart
You got my heart, oh no!
You tear me apart
You just won't let me go
You hold on so tight, so tight I just can't breathe
Now Lucy leave
Lucy
Leave, when I ask you to leave little girl
Please, far away from me little girl
Yeah! go little girl
Seen is oh so broken up about you Lucy
Yeah! Go
2. Double O Bo
Bo Diddley was a private eye
Hand was fast and his I.Q. high
D.A. said "Double O, you won't last
Slow down boy, you living too fast"
Well, Double O had a Cadillac
Machine guns and a bullet-proof back
Engine taken from a 707
Sounds like a sure way to get into heaven
In his pocket, 5 pounds of lead
To keep Bo Diddley from getting dead
Another thing helped Bo keeping alive
Was a snub-nosed, Smith And Wesson, Colt 45
Well, Bo drank gallons of rye and bourbon
Martini's dry and you better serve them
Martini so dry, the shaker burst
Bo keeled on his side and died of thirst
3. Remember Me
Remember me (aaaaah-ha)
I've been here before
Remember me (aaaaah-ha)
I've been here before
Can't you see
I'm gonna stick around some more
Can't you see (aaaaah-ha)
I want some love from you
Can't you see (aaaaah-ha)
I want some love from you
Don't go away now
I've got something to give to you
I'll try to be (aaaaa-ha)
As good as gold to you
Try to be (aaaaa-ha)
As good as gold to you
But don't blame me, girl
If I'm far from cold to you
Remember me (aaaaa-ha)
I've been here before
Remember me (aaaaa-ha)
I've been here before
Don't go away now
Come and stick around some more
Yeah
4. Walk With Me Sydney
Oh oh oh walk with me, Sydney
I'd love to, love to, love to, baby you know
Oh oh oh walk with me, Sydney
I'd love to, love to, love to, love to
Walk with me, Sydney, it's a dark night
Come on, come on, hold me tight
Well, I'd love to, love to, love to
But I got flat feet, fallen arches
Baggy knees and a broken frame
Meningitis, peritonitis
Dt's and a washed-up brain
Oh oh oh roll with me, Sydney
I'd love to, love to, love to, baby you know
Oh oh oh roll with me, Sydney
I'd love to, love to, love to, love to
Roll with me, Sydney, it's a dark night
Hold me, hold me, hold me tight
Well, I'd love to, love to, love to
But I got flat feet, fallen arches
Baggy knees and a broken frame
Meningitis, peritonitis
Dt's and a washed-up brain
Oh oh oh walk with me, Sydney
I'd love to, love to, love to, baby you know
Oh oh oh walk with me, Sydney
I'd love to, love to, love to, love to
Walk with me, Sydney, it's a dark night
Come on, come on, hold me tight
Well, I'd love to, love to, love to
But I got flat feet, fallen arches
Baggy knees and a broken frame
Meningitis, peritonitis
Dt's and a washed-up brain
5. Butterfly
Listen, all you girlies
Even though I haven't met you
Gonna catch you soon
In my butterfly net
You'd better watch out
Sometimes when I watch you
I stretch out my hand to touch you
'Cause it drives me wild
To see you flutter by
You butterfly
I won't squeeze you dead
Aiming through your head
I just want your love
I won't writen your name
In Latin in the rain
'Cause raining it's a shame
Listen, all you girlies
Even though I haven't met you
Gonna catch you soon
In my butterfly net
You'd better watch out
6. I'm a King Bee
Well I'm a king bee
Buzzin' around your hive
Yes I'm a king bee, child
Buzzin' around your hive
I can make good honey
Let me come inside
I'm young and able
To buzz all night long
You know I'm young and able
To buzz all night long
When you hear me buzz little girl
You know there's some stinging goin' on
Well buzz
Oh Sting
Yeah
Well I'm a king bee
Can buzz all night long
Yes I'm a king bee
Can buzz all night long
Well I can buzz better baby
When your man is gone
Wow, so much work, tyvm indeed 🙏😊
It's always interesting to listen a famous band at his all beginning, before he founds his own voice.
🎸🎸Pure floyd in the raw a musical direction, they were trying to create a real mix, pulled together you can imagine, there was a touch of class to it.The supreme talent and they have became the best in this world, the music dream became a reality. As floyd fans think back there mindblowing performances over the early years were the best stands alone this is why they. Became there own universe in music professional genius good music will always live on forever 🎸🎸🎸🎸
David i like your comment ive loved these guys since their beginning , What a band They are the ultimate in greatness then now and always jANE XX
It's actually recorded pre Floyd, when they were "The Tea Set"
Im surprised and amazed. There are lots of material here that has nothing to do with the Pink Floyd that we all know, but that antecipate the sound of many bands, some of them many years later.
This is so good. First time I've heard it.
The remastered versions on the Early Years Boxset sound superb. this ones too
I know PFs story *and* music inside & out (at least I thought I did!) And i've never heard these gems before....! Thanks OP
Thanks for publishing this, Psychedelic-Blues, I was 10 years old in 1965 and today I listen to this great recording! time will tell!
Wowza, been a huge fan for years.
Besides "King Bee" and "Lucy Leave", never knew this existed- thanks for sharing!!
Bob Klose: Every hipster's favorite Pink Floyd member.
imagining floyd as a tight psychedelic r+b outfit is refreshing. songs are concise, punchy and infused with syd's whimsical trait
Excellent. Sounds like Kinks.
Lucy Leave , is the only song i know ,but never heard it before . I love the Blues .
Awesome. Thank you for the upload. Classic stuff.
The spirit of Pink FLoyd already emerging. Love it! Thanks for the share, man
Interesting band. Shows great promise.
Great stuff from Rick Wright on 'walk with me Sydney'. Assuming that is him playing, I've no idea
That’s him alright…plus his then-wife on backing vocals.
Hey thanx for putting this up on here. Interesting to listen to Floyd in the very early times of the band.
Awesome stuff! Thanks for posting!
Questi erano i veri Pink Floyd... C'era anche Bob Klose all'epoca... E quelli che pensano che la storia dei Pink Floyd inizi negli anni '70... Pink Floyd ❤
Thanks for this-always been a huge fan of especially there early stuff. Hadn't herd this before..pretty cool
This is good... but I'm thankful to Syd for taking up the lead guitar role and doing whatever it took to write the songs he later did. This is good, but fairly generic and nowhere near the brilliance of "Piper"/those '67 singles/his solo albums. Funny enough, Waters seems more Barrett-esque ("Walk with Me, Sydney") than Barrett here, in terms of songwriting (maybe barring "Butterfly'). Fun to hear - I'd only ever heard crappy bootlegged versions of these.
"whatever it took" i.e. caning the Acieeed!
the guitarist is Bob Klose,, hes my friends dad,,, he played in my clubs house band,,the Muthafunk allstars
Oh, you know Bob Klose personally? Actually I am super curious about his full name: Radovan Robert Garcia Klose. Radovan is a Czechoslovak name and García is a Spanish surname, but his father was German and his mother was English. Helmut Klose fought in the Spanish Civil War, apparently, which could justify the Garcia as a given name, but no clue about the Czechoslovak inspiration. Maybe Helmut's even further roots? If you ever find out, please do let me know! :D
Did he continue playing music? If he did, I want to listen to his solo music but I couldn' find anything
First time I heard this album.1965 I'm only 1 year old ha ha ha.from Philippines.
the roger barrett blues band :)
no?
Heh heh nice :D
......SOMEONE INVENT A TIME MACHINE!! _QUICK!!_
"It's awf'lly considerate of you....".
The Barrett's Blues band, Syd was the man.
What a time it was... And they were well ahead....
Epic jams !
Thanks for posting! Been wanting to hear this since they released it. You're the man/women/what ever...love it!

rick is doing a great job here!!!
many many thanks for share it
GOLD !!!
Thank you! Last three the best.
I need to find a copy of this! Such an awesome, interesting listen. Digging the hell outta this!
These have floated round for years, heard each on their own ay different times. Nice to have them all in one ep! They were heavily influenced by the blues. Thanks for uploading this! Never heard bob referred to as rado
birth name: "Rado Robert Garcia Klose"
and not many people know that Syd's real name was Roger
The band's (and Syd's) blues roots is reflected in the band's name, taken by Syd from American bluesmen Pink Anderson and Floyd Council. . .
Roger kieth Barrett
Thanks for this, most people don't know of their efforts pre67
;~)
grazie, pezzi musicali incredibili, grazie ancora
good to be in this time, dear Brother Roger!
This is just wonderful, even if it wasnt the Floyd, its still great
To me, this would ONLY be wonderful if it WASN'T Floyd.
I like that this was released a year after The Endless River. I guess this is me thinking "they've finally released their swan song, it's time to go back to where it all began."
The EU has a law that when a recording is over 50 years old, if you want to be able to claim copyright you have to show you've 'released' it. This is why they put this out very quickly as a limited edition and wiped it from Apple music a short while after.
@@adriansaunders5313 which also explains The Early Years boxset the following year, and The Beatles releasing Deluxe Editions of albums from Pepper to Abbey Road. Because of this, I'm curious about their plan for 2023

It was some rare stuff until they released it for record store day, in the early years box, and now some of this is gonna be on the record store day version of Piper
not very rare right now would u say?
Aaaaand...... Enter Stage Left: _The Internet Pedant_ :P
it's rare still. why would you think otherwise
You pulled this one out of the past, far out. Aloha from Kauai
Their best album. Fun Rock!
the whole set of songs was recorded just before Christmas 1964 as barrett confirmed in a letter to his girlfriend
damien suil -where did you come across this info? Is there a website or forum or blog or book with he & GFs letters? Thanks in advance!
there's a jenny spires interview plus the letter was on display at the recent London pink Floyd exhibition..in it barrett says he recorded 5 or so songs on a Friday with the band just before Christmas and states that he was really pleased with his performance on 'king bee'
But final overdubs (vocals) probably spilled into early '65.
Amazing! Can't believe after all the PF catalogues and bootlegs and recordings I've been over and never heard of this! Excellent..
the surviving acetate of lucy leave is the complete version you hear here and dates from 1964-barrett also mentions in his letter that further vocals were to be recorded the following sunday(still dec 1964 and on the acetate they were called the pink Floyd it wasn't till early 1965 that they started calling themselves briefly the tea set before reverting to syd's original favoured name for the band. hope this helps and love to all Floyd appreciators everywhere!
Perfeito e maravilhoso...
Sounds great. Really rare stuff.
This sounds great
Great Album!! Love this song by Syd!! King Bee!
Wow, this is great! Thanks!
Sounding a lot like the Yardbirds, Pretty Things, etc.
**ALSO THE KINKS AND BO DIDDLEY**
Hearing now , 2018,songs never heard of P. F. with Barrett ,like that "Double o bo", its too much for my heart.Don't know where the guitar parts of that early member Klose are ,but sure it's a very good job
Lucy Leave could’ve been a classic Rolling Stones tune
Wonderfull maravilhoso Wunderbar !!!!!
I've always been curious about this earliest phase of Pink Floyd, when they were still a fairly conventional rock 'n roll band.
That was before drugs.
@@ukkfayooyay they probably were smoking pot. It was 1965
Syd was never conventional.
DTs and a washed out brain! never even knew this existed, Here is me thinking I had heard everything Floyd had done, love it.
JB On the streets -same! Ikr? Damn!
Check out The Early Years set on UA-cam. It has this and more, including a live show from 1967 in clear quality.
WOW. Great to hear straight up Blues and Rock from the greatest band of all time, thank you for the upload. Cheers Floyd Heads!
And then, you realize that this is the same band which made The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn only two years after this. Also imagine that they recorded The Dark Side Of The Moon only 8 years after... Unbelievable.
Kind of Beatles trajectory........
man you guys are right
A band apart....
Great album!!!!!
There is no doubt that they have something. I refer to the rhythmic and sound breaks that would later develop in a run towards science fiction.
Love this its great :)
