THERES NO WAY, SOMEONE IS FINALLY WATCHING IT AGAIN!!!!!!!! AH I’m so glad I’m catching this while your reacting to it, this show is one of my favorites
I can't express how happy I am that you referenced Radio Flyer and The Good Son! Most people only know Elijah Wood from Lord of the Rings, but I was a total Elijah Wood stan as a kid in the 90s. 🥰 Dirk Gently is so ridiculous... but addictive. 🤣
Sou do Brasil. Segunda vez que vejo um react dessa MasterPiece! Queria que a série e os livros fossem mais reconhecidos. Uma pena o autor não terminar a terceira história que ele começou a escrever depois de Dirk Gently.
@@AmarthwenNarmacil the original is two books by Douglas Adams (Dirk Gentley's Detective Agency and The Long Dark Teatime of the Soul). They even did audio editions which had Billy Boyd play one of the main characters - and makes me think he probably gave the nod to Elijah for this side-step-continuation (as the stories here were not from Adams but based upon his creation)
The actress playing Bart is Fiona Dourif, daughter of Brad Dourif (One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, Chucky, Babylon 5, Lord of the Rings among many others)
Thank you very much for starting to watch this series. I'm a huge fan of the two and love this show so much. I hope you like it. The series was supposed to have a third season but it was unfortunately canceled.
While Doctor Who has its twists and turns, it feels a lot more coherent than this turbo charged masterpiece of chaos. Prior to this newer series (2 seasons), there also was a slightly older one from 2012 (4 episodes). These shows are highly reminiscent of late author Douglas Adams' writings, most famous being Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
You are dead on about the Doctor Who vibe. Douglas Adams was a writer for Doctor Who back in the '70s. The first Dirk Gently novel started as a script he wrote for Doctor Who that was never used. He later re-wrote as a novel with Dirk Gently as the main character instead of the Doctor.
Perfection would be if they can keep you eager to keep watching in a state of total confusion where nothing makes sense until the last minute of the last episode where you gain one final piece of information which causes everything to suddenly make perfect sense. When I watched this for the first time - I strongly suspected that was Douglas Adams' intent in writing it and I was willing to wait and see if he managed to achieve it. After all, to quote a famous Douglas Adams' quote: "Let us think the unthinkable, let us do the undoable, let us prepare to grapple with the ineffable itself, and see if we may not eff it after all."
Hmmm...didn't realise there was this version made, I think the BBC might have done it a while ago. Anyway, if you haven't already done so, I would recommend Adam's masterpiece, The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy. Most come to it via the books but originally, it was a BBC radio comedy/drama series. Two seasons initially were made, then he focused on the books and painfully trying to get a movie version made. The first season was made into a BBC TV show in the early 80's, season 2 remains radio only. In fact, one book resets it all by going back to the end of season 1, thus S2 becomes a 'dead end' but its damn funny and you do learn what the ultimate swear word in the galaxy is...:). The books were eventually converted to radio dramas in the early 2000's following Adams untimely death in 2001. You can now get all of the HHG radio seasons as what is jokingly called a trilogy in five parts. The movie eventually got made, but was a flop, deviating a bit too much from the original story. To start, you can't beat the radio series, its genius. The BBC TV show is pretty good but does have one or two minor deviations compared to the original, but they're OK...and funny:). If you listen to it, the theme music is actually very well known, its Journey of the Sorcerer by The Eagles.
Wow, no one reacts to this! I am soo jazzed to rewatch this with you!

Hell yeah! This show is something of a hidden treasure, so it’s not often I come across new reactions!! Really excited to hear what you think :)
Just finished season 1.
oh my god I'm so excited so few people react to this

Awesome! This show is such a hidden gem, I enjoyed it very much. Hope you will too and I'm looking forward to your reactions.
of course it helps knowing the original that spawned the series
@@hornorsilk2901 I must admit, I do not know the original.

This is fantastic! It’s a really excellent series.

She is absolutely fantastic in this.
Yes, truly a hidden gem of a show.
It's so cool that someone is finally reacting to this show! It's incredible!

one of Douglas Adams's more oddball series of books, and as he wrote Hitchhikers Guide, that's saying something
Ill definitely be watching the reactions!!!! Yes!!
Lets go!! One of the greatest shows oat!!!
It is based on the Dirk Gently novels by Douglas Adams. So, of course, it has some sci-fi in it.
Yessssss so happy to see someone reacting to this
This series is one of my all time favourites and its criminal that not many people know about it, I hope you enjoy it 😊
Perhaps that's why it was cancelled after two seasons. However, I prefer the ITV version with Stephen Mangan. It is closer to Douglas Adams' style.
Subbed for the Dirk, underrated but fun series!
Because of this comment I will post another full episode later tonight.
@@MegaReacts even more amazing
Elijah Wood was also one of the two boys in the arcade in Back to the Future 2.
Holy shit!!! So happy to see this. Are you gonna keep posting the rest of the episodes?
I just started season 2 on Patreon. Episodes will eventually make it to UA-cam.

So exited to see someone watch this. I love this show
This is such a great show, and I like your reaction :)
Thank you for your work.
Believe me, after the last episode, with a holistic view on the fragments, you will exactly know what's going on. It is not as complicated as Dark.
O i love this show! Bit weird haha. But so cool!
gotta go with the flow - everything is connected - it's all wholistic.
I would say you really need to watch this season again straight after because it will not make much if any sense the first time round❤🤔🙄😮❤
