Teoh, just wanted to tell you that you are the only art tech reviewer I trust online. I love your style and the respect you have for your viewers 🙏🙏🙏 (Also sweet Undertaker shirt)
The line jitter has probably improved on this model due to the magnetic tech on the screen itself. I have two budget tiny XP-Pen tablets: the G430S which has 8000 pressure levels and a deco640 which has 16000 pressure levels. They both have the same exact pen despite the pressure level claims in their marketing, and when I used the 8000-pressure pen on the newer tablet, the pressure curve settings screen on the XPPen driver detected 16000 pressure levels from the older pen. Love your reviews! Love how far Xp-Pen and Huion have been coming along lately!
Love your vids your literally the only one I trust on UA-cam when it comes to tech reviews thank you so much for the time and effort you put into making them. I really trust your opinion. Do you think I should get this or the Huion 27 inch pro 4k? Finally decided to buy my first drawing tablet 🎉
Few things to note. Huion usually has better pen performance than XPPen, but this time, this particular XPPen 24-inch actually has similar performance as the Huion. That Huion Kamvas Pro 27 is USD 1899. This XPPen is USD 1100. For me, I would go with XPPen because the price difference is significant. 27 inch is huge. 24 inch is huge. Size difference is not significant. Talking about size, wow, there is so much space. As someone who don't draw on such big displays, it feels weird. But this is something that one can get used to with time. You can also choose based on how big your table is. This is probably how I would choose mine since my table isn't big. By the way, if you have intention to buy either, considering using my huion or xppen affiliate links to support my channel.
Hi there Teoh, i'd like to express my gratitude for your dedication in making all the product reviews. I finally made up my mind to transition from Wacom Intuos (which is still working well after more than a decade usage) to Display Tablet. I just started my new digital art journey with XP Pen Artist Pro 16 after watching your reviews (Artist Pro 19 functions are very tempting with the 4k display, somehow 16 it's my preferred work area size). Boy oh my, how easy it is to adapt to the new drawing method! It's a gamechanger to me as I have difficulty adapting on drawing directly on Ipad (esp without the keyboards shortcuts to use🤣). It serves the best of both world drawing in display tablet, i'm really late to make such changes but digital drawing certainly had become more enjoyable now.😊
Teoh, you made a comment on the “wide bezels” on the new 2nd Gen 24” Pro models. This was (obviously) intentional, and it is a departure from the “design language” they used for the 2nd Gen 14”, 16”, 19”, as well as the new 22”Pro models; the “design language” I’m referring to is the nice, medium-size, rounded bezels for the top and sides, and then they have a wider, flat, but edge-curved bezel for the bottom. The bottom bezel is intentionally wider to serve as a “wrist rest” when using these displays at a low angle, for example, with the included “fold-out feet” (at about 17 degree angle, I think), especially the smaller 14”, 16”, and I think 19”, which have those built-in feet. However, in the case of these new 24” displays, many professionals will use these displays on VESA arms, swiveling them from landscape mode to portrait mode, and even swivel angles in between (ie. 0 to 90 degrees swivel position). Anyway, in summary, having wide bezels on all four sides gives a “wrist wrest” in landscape or portrait display orientation, for left-handlers or right-handlers, and if you have the display at a low angle and you are drawing close to the edge of the usable display, the wide bezel on the sides are great for “resting the wrist” or “steaming the the wrist”, if needed. So, the wide bezel was an intentional design choice, even if they make the display look kind-of old-school 1990’s clunky!
Thank you for your review of this. I had bought it and had it sitting in my workspace for a week and a half. There were issues installing the drivers. (Maybe I need to remove the old Wacom drivers). I'll try to do that today. I do not really like the bezels. Aside from that, the price is right, and the quality appears to be really good. BTW, I watch pretty much all your reviews.
Thanks, man. So far the best review I've seen on Xp-pen new 24 inchers. Originally I thought 4k res should be a superior advantage on 24", but now I'm getting I was over estimating it a lot... Difference between 4k and QHD 165hz is not that big after all.
So happy to see your review of this product! How do you think this product compares to the older Huion Kamvas 24 Pro 4K and the Kamvas 24 Plus? I was debating between getting this or 285) either of those because the 4K is a little older and isn't using their newer, better pen tech, but the Kamvas 24 was newer, had QHD but didn't have the 165Hz
The Kamvas 24 models are good back then and are still good today. You can see a comparison chart from my text review at www.parkablogs.com/content/artist-review-huion-kamvas-pro-24-4k-pen-display Pen performance is largely similar with all the models you listed It's difficult to choose between huion and xppen. I draw on an ipad pro 13 (M4) and mirror the image on a 27 inch display. How would you compare the drawing feeling between ipad and the XP PEN? Is it worth buying? And... your videos are really fantastic!
Two differences. Matte surface is easier to draw with. 24-inch is humongous and the drawing experience is quite different from drawing on a 13-inch. Whether it's worth buying is quite subjective. All I can say is this is a good product. I prefer the 165Hz model over the 4K for the US$200 savings.
My only gripe with this display is the pen tilt compensation inaccuracy. The cursor won't stray much at the calibrated angle (only past 45 degrees) but turning the pen into any other direction the cursor will start to stray quite a lot. Also a lot more for the slim pen due to pen nibs being quite shorter than the regular one. I would call it a major design flaw for slim pen nibs because this length introduces extra inaccuracy and replacing them is also very difficult with the provided nib removal tool. If they were 1-2mm longer both issues would be less aparent.
Huion with pentech 4.0 seem to have solved that issue. Wish xppen would focus more development on that regard. They already have a decent tilt recognition, just need a proper compensation algorithm to keep cursor centered.
This was a very thorough review as always, it's why I look forward to your videos even if I don't comment. What is the keyboard you are using? Did I miss a review of it? 🤔🤔
Yunzii B75 Pro. After updating a firmware, the battery life drains in 2 days with wireless connection. So I have to remember to turn it off after use overnight.
Hello Teoh! Excellent analysis as always! Thank you! In your opinion, is there a big difference in quality between this one and the Artist Pro 19 Gen 2?
Two differences. For the line tests, 24's pen accuracy is better here since there's completely no diagonal line wobble or jitter during line tests. For drawing experience, I did not notice the line wobble/jitter affecting the 19. The other main difference is 24-inch will give you more space for multi-tasking. E.g. Having multiple windows on screen, split screen, having reference beside the drawing app.
22:47 this could be hardware (laptop) related or possibly just a bug that occasionally occurs. On my windows PC all mentioned driver versions do have calibration button.
XP Pen doesn’t sell nips for their Slim stylus, although in order to get replacement nips I’m curious on comparing the slim pen’s nips with a Wacom’s pro. However, it would be really cool if they actually sell a pen combo that includes both styluses and the pen case like the 19’s display’s. However I don’t know if that could change their market game. Leaving that aside, thank you for your effort on these reviews, I love how detailed and objective they are because they resolve all my doubts regarding a prospect purchase. Thanks a lot, Teoh.
I was used to paint traditional in typical oil canvases and draw on A3 or bigger with pencils, (not A4), often as tall as a person with charcoal large drawings. For me it is indeed more natural, so. I can "draw from the shoulder", or "from the elbow", with these sizes. Which is something not everybody wants, though. I am as well used to Wacom XL and L. The XL has similar active area to a 24" screen. Indeed, with those great values after hardware calibration (the spyderx colorimeter, I have a display i1 Pro, tho), like 97% Adobe RGB, to use it as a references monitor is pretty good. I used to have one only covering sRGB gamut, and with some references, some extreme greens, blues and purples would be much richer on my main monitor (an eizo). I have realized that the references, or extra monitor for work, unless destined only to move software panels there, it's very convenient if it is very good at color.
Great review. One question, you mention latency looking the same compared to other reviews of the 165hz version. Couldn't that be because the YT videos are running at 60hz, so this difference would only be visible if viewed in person?
I don't think it's because of UA-cam's 60Hz. The latency gap is quite obvious. The thing is, if latency has actually improved, the gap will be very small, and hence all 60 frames should show a small gap.
The higher the refresh rate the lower the input latency. There definitely is a difference you can see and drawing feels much smoother at higher refresh rate but the cursor will still slightly lag behind.
What to buy xiomi pad 6 8gb variant or one plus pad 1 12gb variant if we are getting both in same price? My major requirement is study and type c to type a hdmi cable support Please reply
25:59 , the line wobble improved in this model compare to the other Artist Pro gen2 despite having the same pentech generation. Is it because of higher amount of EMR lines on the EMR grid sensor (having same 5080LPi across all tablet/screen size), making it effectively higher "resolution" for pen stroke tracking
Smaller screen sizes do tend to have more wobble, even Wacom screens. Not certain why though. But can confirm there is absolutely no visible line wobble in any direction, angle or speed with this screen.
Can anyone tell me, I'm curious about something does the pen display support handwriting filling the text on the search bar directly, or converting handwriting to text when taking notes like the feature on the iPads had?
Thank you very much for your explanation at 25:35. Line wobble is my main worry with a tablet. And XPpen and Huion have been not as good as Wacom in that department. I am seeing in the test that this one performs quite well, and it is super useful to know that it is behaving better than the other model sizes in this same generation. Also as I am quite looking forward to buy this tablet (decided that I prefer it to the 1440p one, and not due to the 4k "advantage". Apparently the higher refresh one heats up more). We might be finally getting a very pro line of products in these brands. My other priority is color, and 97% Adobe RGB is outstanding. It seems to check all other marks, as well. My only doubt is with the lag, but could be a camera recording effect (that the cursors seems lightly left behind). But I notice this with many tablet review videos on UA-cam, with every reviewer.
@@teohontech7141 That's good to know. If it's almost like a Cintiq's (or equal), that should be fine. My Huion Kamvas 22 seems to have more lag than the response/reaction that I notice with the Wacom Intuos Pro (4) pen tablet. Or maybe that's just a sensation, but that pen tablet seems to react faster.
@ I see. I only ask because I have the 24 version of the xencelabs and the tactile feel is not as coarse as a huion for instance. Thinking of switching to the Huion 24 4k. Thank you for your reply 😁
Many of these matte glass surfaces are actually quite smooth. Definitely smoother compared to matte screen protectors. I tested the Xencelabs 16 and it's quite smooth too, but it's not that much different from the XPPen. Even if there's difference, you'll really need two units side by side to compare.
@teohontech7141 oh I thought you did a review on your other channel (is that correct?) a few years back but I guess Im wrong. Considering the small differences I think the cost savings on the Huion is worth more and Im familliar with 1 of their displays already.
@@lucamacovei Oops. Thanks for the reminder. I did a search and I did review the Kamvas Pro 24 in 2021. I had forgotten. So I just had a look at my old review and here are some thoughts. That Huion does not come with a stand and you will definitely need to buy a stand. You can get the Huion ST100 stand (US$50) or ST500 stand (US$139) which is much better. The cables that come out from the top may interfere with the stand, so I recommend getting L-shape cables (HDMI, USB-C or DisplayPort). So those are extra cost. The L shape cables should prevent damage with constant adjustment of pen display angles. Huion has more matte grain/colour noise but should be sharper, relatively speaking, compared to the Xppen. Previous gen matte glass has more grain/colour noise, but current gen matte glass has less grain/colour noise, but sacrifices sharpness slightly. Note that everything is relative. Huion bezels are smaller. Not sure why Xppen's is so thick. As for drawing performance, they should be similar. Hello ! What do you think i should take as a comic / webtoon artist do you think the 19inch is a good compromise, a perfect size or should i take the 24 one ? Thank you
19-inch is very big. 24-inch is humongous. I would recommend 19-inch unless you know for sure you need the bigger display. The bigger display is good for multi-tasking. Having multiple windows, split screen mode. Having reference by the side. Oh, if you do buy anything, considering using my affiliate links from the video descriptions.

1.5m cable length and yes felt nibs are available for the slim pen, if not currently in your store contact support (they seem to have forgotten to update all stores with those).
The buttons are not always useful; they are always in the way. I clicked them accidentally so many times that I open the older pens up and clip off the pressing stubs. (Even turning the button action to off causes skip in drawing lines.) Nice that XP Pen considers other types of users.
Please include demonstrating whether all these tablets you are promoting can draw and display a 1. point line correctly instead of just showing fat thick marker pens. Pen Display 24 is garbage.. cheap 4k screen, harsh display.. and is has major trouble even displaying a 1 point line. Which makes it completely useless you are just drawing silly cartoons with a big fat marker pen which is exactly what EVERY single reviewer does on ALL these tablet reviews. Even now I am watching your line demo on a 5k Retina monitor and the thin lines you are drawing look just horrible and jagged despite you conspicuously not going smaller than what looks like a 5.07mm line. And because of this for fine art most of if not ALL of these tablets are garbage.
Just tested and there are no issues with displaying 1px line. There's even pressure sensitivity with 1px line. You should make a video to talk more about garbage, cheap, harsh pen displays that you have used. Because seriously I have no idea.
@@teohontech7141 I don't believe you.. otherwise you would have included the 1 point test in ALL your videos but you have never done so. Maybe you like horrid jagged lines on displays.. and consider that acceptable for your big pen cartoon sketches.. but I see you are NOT a fine artist so you don't care. You get paid to flog this cheap 'exotic eastern' gear so obviously your not allowed to show or say anything negative about them. What to buy xiomi pad 6 8gb variant or one plus pad 1 12gb variant if we are getting both in same price?
My major requirement is study and type c to type a hdmi cable support
Please reply
Maybe the OnePlus for the larger display
Can u do an artist review and notetaking experience on the newly launched xiaomi pad 7 please?
Not sure when I will be able to review that
Make tests with brush transparency and pressure sensitive in transparency setting.
Please do note-taking and drawing review on xiaomi pad 7
25:59 , the line wobble improved in this model compare to the other Artist Pro gen2 despite having the same pentech generation. Is it because of higher amount of EMR lines on the EMR grid sensor (having same 5080LPi across all tablet/screen size), making it effectively higher "resolution" for pen stroke tracking
They all have 5080 LPI
Smaller screen sizes do tend to have more wobble, even Wacom screens. Not certain why though.
But can confirm there is absolutely no visible line wobble in any direction, angle or speed with this screen.
@@don-dori Thank you, it's useful to know (about this screen).
Can anyone tell me, I'm curious about something does the pen display support handwriting filling the text on the search bar directly, or converting handwriting to text when taking notes like the feature on the iPads had?
Works with Windows.
You can write with the pen in text boxes.
For handwritten text conversion, that will depend on the drawing app you use.
Win can't do some things as well as IOS.
But it always works with the virtual keyboard.
And it depends on the program.
great
There's artist pro 22 (gen2) as well right now right?
I assume somewhat the same as this?
Same, but price is much lower than the 24-inch 165Hz.
There's always latency with pen displays. This amount of latency is quite typical of most pen displays I've tested.
@@teohontech7141 That's good to know. If it's almost like a Cintiq's (or equal), that should be fine. My Huion Kamvas 22 seems to have more lag than the response/reaction that I notice with the Wacom Intuos Pro (4) pen tablet. Or maybe that's just a sensation, but that pen tablet seems to react faster.
is there touch function?
No.
No
Answered in the video many times. Why not watch? You're already here anyway.
How would you rate this compared to the Xencelabs Display 24 inch ?
I've not used the Xencelabs 24 before so I can't say much. In terms of value for money, one's USD 2089 and the other's 1104. Price difference is HUGE.
@ thanks for your feedback. It was very helpful!
How do you compare to huion kamvas pro 24 4k? Right now Huion is 1300 and Xppen is 1500 (canadian dollars btw)
Im torn between the two
I have not tried the Kamvas Pro 24 so I actually can’t say much. Purely looking at price, I go with Huion because there is significant cost savings

Do me a favour, if you do buy anything, consider using my affiliate link to support my YT channel.
@@teohontech7141 I already have a big monitor like 27inch or 32 dont remember exactly but something like that. For Multi tasking i will use that instead of the big tablet.
Yeah i never tried a 24inch display so i think i would go for the 19, it would be a better option.
No problem for the affiliate link, thank you !
@@teohontech7141 What do you think, they just announced a new 22inch tablet 2,5k. Do you still suggest the 19inch 4k one over the 22inch 2,5k please ? Thank you
@@lostchldI have this tablet and while it is fantastic and miles ahead of the tablet I had beforehand (the ancient Wacom Cintiq 21UX), it is super heavy and huge on my desk. I sometimes wish I went for the 19 inch tablet. I'm pretty sure that one is a lot lighter and more portable. That being said, I'm really pleased with my 24 inch. It's a stunning display and feels amazing to draw on. You wouldn't feel disappointed if you got it, I don't think.
@ Thank you very much for answering ! I just saw they released a 2.5K 22inch pro tablet for 600. Do you think its still better to take the 19 4k ?
Can you tell how long the hdmi and dp cables?and can I buy felt tips for slim pen - or they are didnt exist?
1.5m cable length and yes felt nibs are available for the slim pen, if not currently in your store contact support (they seem to have forgotten to update all stores with those).
The buttons are not always useful; they are always in the way.
I clicked them accidentally so many times that I open the older pens up and clip off the pressing stubs. (Even turning the button action to off causes skip in drawing lines.)
Nice that XP Pen considers other types of users.
Talk about an absolute unit. 😂
not sure why XPPen think bringing back extra thicc bezel is a good idea
It's much better than thinner bezel ones tbh, it helped my wrist and give my palms rest space
@@NornChaver But this one's thicker than usual. Two finger wide would be thick/wide enough. This is three fingers wide
@@NornChaver they can do it like Wacom with the attachable side panels/rest plate. You dont need buffer zone on all 4 edges of the screen.
60hz 😢
Not really an issue for artists. Anyway, there's the 165Hz model although at lower 1440P resolution, but still pretty sharp.
Even your 5 point looks awful.. what on earth would your 1 point look like. That's why you NEVER show it. But that makes all your reviews pretty much disingenuous which is why you are now triggered.
@@jacksprat2333 The last thing I want to do is to have people buy stuff based on my recommendations, and come back to my channel to complain. Go look at my product reviews that you think are fake or paid and see if there are complaints from people who bought them. And I don't have time to screenshot the "thanks teoh, I bought this because of your review" comments to show you.
I can't show jagged lines if there are no jagged lines. And I've shown jagged lines for the xppen artist pro 14, 16 and 19. I've shown so many jagged lines for so many products.
Like I said, you can and you should make video reviews to show the problems you've encountered. Because I seriously have no idea what problem you're talking about. You probably would be a professional and would have art to show since you bought a Xencelabs Pen Display 24 for US$ 2089.
@@teohontech7141 But I did.. I bought the Xenselabs Pen 24 based entirely on your review of it. So please understand why I am a bit annoyed. As it was very disappointing and is being returned. By the way you seem to resent anybody coming and saying anything on 'your channel' that you don't approve of so they just walked into your living room or burgled your home.. but you have to remember this is a public forum and space and it's not you're living room and I haven't invaded your home, I'm merely responding to your reviews. And unlike yourself I'm not being paid by companies to say nice things so please don't try and deny people's ability to even express themselves based upon their experiences they've had and decisions they have made as a result of trusting and believing your reviews.
@@jacksprat2333 One thing I hate is for people to buy stuff based on wrong info from my review, and waste money as a result. Because those people will come back with comments like the one you've posted.
By the way, I did not review the Xencelabs Pen 24, only the 16 last month.
And as mentioned several times, you should have made a video talking about your experiences or product issues. That way you can help people save money and avoid bad companies.
