I remember my dad calling me from Prison saying that Metallica came and preformed an they had Rob from Suicidal on bass. This was a while before st anger dropped so I thought he was full of shit. You cant see him in the video but in the some kind of monster doc you can see him clear as day a few times chillin near Kirk. This absolutely blew my 11yr old mind lol. Dont have many stories about my pops so this was definitely a highlight. Kindof sad to say but it is what it is. RIP Dad.

@ridian what exactly is bad about this song? I have genuinely no idea what people are talking about in the negative comments. This song is nowhere as good as master of puppets or the unforgiven 1&2, but it’s still great?
EDIT: yeah live versions without that terrible snare are 100 times better :D

The album that saved my life after my mum died between 13 - 15 years ago when I was listening to it every damn day. I didn't feel like be alive anymore. The music on this album represents all raw feeling and emotions. Lots of people don't simply understand what what this album brings to the surface. I'm not talking about the taste. It's just pure emotions. Everything here is perfect. It's like classic music one must understand it to like and listen to it. The same goes with this album. Pure wildness of emotions !

Came out very fuzzy, but I remember this video and tripped out how it was filmed in SQ and the stories within the video. Ended up doing close to 18 years and have been out five years now. Watching this video clearly now on UA-cam as a free man, at almost 41 years age, it hits different. Feel the pain of every story within the video. While the door is still open, I hope as many lifers as possible get a second chance and get that parole date.

St. Anger has since dropped to the bottom tier for me (though I'd say still better than Reload and easily Lulu), but it holds a special place in my heart, especially being a riff guy. I just wish they added a few solos, tightened up the garbage pale snare, and shortened some of the songs a bit. Then this actually could have been a decent album. I do still legit like Frantic, St. Anger, Dirty Window, and Some Kind of Monster as songs.
