Hesse is the German fairytale state, full of old towns with half-timbered houses and castles. Even the brothers Grimm were born in Hanau, Hesse and ofc it has the prospering banking town Frankfurt, the only German city with a skyline full of skyscrapers.

It was a place I was supposed to visit around twenty years ago, but the plans fell apart.
I have worked on Heidelberg Druckmaschinen occasionally over the last 25 years, and have always been curious about the factory and the town.
I heard they used to be bell makers many years ago.

Same. I am a German living in the USA as well, and since Hessen is my home Bundesland, I really don't want to change be ugly and skyscraper filled.

Germany is not at all „little-known“ as it is the heart of Europe, but I agree that countries like France and Italy get more tourists.

All of the eastern regions and the Eastern Mark, and Bohemia and Moravia, Flanders, the Netherlands, Moselle, Wallonia, Luxembourg, Burgundy, German-speaking Switzerland, Lichtenstein, South Tyrol, Lower Styria, Tarvisio, the coastal region, Burgenland, North Schleswig.
All these federal states are artificial, and were founded by the occupiers, and have made no regard for history.

Schönes Land, wie unser Deutschland überhaupt. Jedes Mal, wenn ich aus dem Ausland heim komme frage ich mich: Warum bist du überhaupt weggefahren?
Ja Deutschland ist schön was Sehenswürdigkeiten wie Mittelalterstädte, Burgen, Schlösser angeht aber auch Moderne Städte wie Hamburg, Berlin sind auch irgendwie schön und vorallem die Natur ist schön wie der Schwarzwald, der Bodensee, die Eifel oder die Bayerischen Alpen.Aber fahre lieber nach Spanien oder Kroatien zum Meer als in die Nordsee obwohl die vielen Hansestädte die Nordsee einmalig machen.
Walter von der Vogelweide hatte dasselbe Gedanke in 1198 n.d z. Er glaubte, dass die deutschen Maenner wohl erzeugen waren und dass die deutschen Frauen wie Engeln waren.
Ich hoffe, das alt-deutsche Fachwerk erhebt sich irgendwann mal wieder! Denn das, ist neben der Musik die schönste Kunst in deutschen Landen.
such a shame that Frankfurt was destroyed in WW2. Still lots of nice places I suppose but damn Frankfurt was the embodiment of German fachwerk for me. Alas, many cities have been lost, but let's pray that reconstruction projects are done faithfully across Europe to rebuild all the lost gems of European craftsmanship, art and culture.
I love my homeland Hessen, but Frankfurt is a sh*thole tbh.

One cool thing about Hesse is that it actually has two elements from the periodic table named after it: Hassium and Darmstadtium.
Cool, didnt know that. Gladly the Scientist didnt came from Wixhausen (a district in Darmstadt, with a missleading name)) and named is Wixhausium ^^

@@rockinresurrection6542 2o years ago I went with a bus in the middle of the night through the financial district of Frankfurt and the bus was heading to the central station. I stayed in the bus because I was on the way to Leipzig, coming from France
But the impressions that I had were: dark, cold, grim, futuristic, soulless

Und da zeigt es sich wie wunderschön die nordhessischen Fachwerkstädte sind. Bin selbst sehr froh so ein altes Haus besitzen zu dürfen(ca.1870) Denn es zeigt mir welch eine Kunst es damals war ein Haus zu bauen. Wie immer ein super Video,mach bitte weiter so!
Bin in einem Fachwerk von 1789 aufgewachsen. Beste Erinnerungen an meine Kindheit/Jugend. Leider gab es kein Testament als mein Onkel starb, sonst wäre es sicher meins geworden. Hätte ich echt als "Alterswohnsitz" gewünscht. Dazu gehört ein Stall mit Hof. Der neue Besitzer hat alles wirklich super restauriert und hergerichtet, großen Respekt dafür. Oberhessen ( MR) ist tief im Herz verwurzelt.
Das ist meine Heimat und ich liebe sie!

Mir fehlt in dem Video ein wenig unsere Natur, vorallem die Wälder und Berge von Nordhessen sind wunderschön. Aber unsere Städte sind natürlich auch wunderschön

Frankfurt visited this year beautiful Hessen with places like Darmstadt, Mainz, Fulda, Kassel, Marburg, Hanau, Wiesbaden and many more our Grand Duke family is orginated from Nassau-Weilburg in Hessen🇱🇺🇩🇪
Spent a few days in Marburg about ten years ago. Other than the leftie student types who seem to abound, it was lovely. You can visit the castle (which looks so different to the ones here in Ireland), the cobble street old town, the Elizabeth Kirche, have great cheap beer etc.
That is so true. Marburg is gorgeous but the students are the worst. Fulda is really nice though, it's even prettier and the people are conservative.
@@yaneyd93 That's in east Germany isn't it? Must see that part of the country some time. My friend married an east German who was born in the DDR and he visits there sometimes, says the people are very different from the Wessis.
@@max__pain No, Fulda is in Hessen. I agree with you though, East Germans are more based because they remember communism very well. Just like Eastern Europeans in general.

Ahh I can feel my eyes being healed by witnessing these beautiful lands. So many years of having to look at the shithole known as Los Angeles, this video makes my heart ache from wanting to return to the fatherland!

Es hat es mir sehr gefallen diesen Bilder zu sehen. Habe ich einigen darunter erkennen können, wie Frankfurt, Fulda, Wartburg, Weimar.... Und Vogelsberg wo ich dort sehr froh und glücklich gewesen war. Ein wirklich wunderschönes Land.
Diese Reihe ist absolut grandios. Sollte nach der Befreiung Lernmaterial werden. Grandios, Dr. Ludwig. Ich hoffe natürlich sehr auf This is Schleswig-Holstein. :D

I am American but my family comes from hesse Germany my 4x great grandfather come to America as a boy from Germany and fought in the revolutionary war in America and I actually have his parents names and there birthdays in the 1600s in Germany I wish I could find and meet any part of the family members that stayed in Germany and my wish is to also travel to hesse Germany

@@marckunz5197 In Kassel habe ich meine Kindheit verbracht . Ich wohnte in Kirchditmold bei meine Großeltern : das waren wunderschöne Zeiten. Damals auch die 80er waren noch Schöne Zeiten. Jetzt bin ich 55 Jahre Alt und habe ein Haufen Schöne Erinnerungen. War vorges Jahr in Kassel und hoffe auch Ende Oktober in ein Paar Monaten.

Sehr schön, vielen Dank! Da waren auch für mich als gebürtigen Hessen einige neue Bilderbuchortschaften vertreten! Zu kritisieren hätte ich allenfalls, dass Gießen bloß mit einem einzigen Foto dargestellt war und sowohl Idstein als auch der Hessenpark völlig gefehlt haben. Ansonsten sind das wirklich herrliche Bilder! Wenn die Zeiten wieder dankbarer werden, steht Fritzlar jetzt ganz oben auf meiner Ausflugsliste :D

Beautiful, I have been to Switzerland before in 1999 but only touched Germany where I travelled by road through a small town called Friedrich's Haven which is a border town. Never really been to Germany. One day maybe.

For wines , endless forest hills and orange red white houses. Except the northern part that is more closer to the dutch belgian lowlands like Köln and Düsseldorf. Rheinish Food is also rather french in elements because of cooking with stuff like winw , onions and cheese. Blood pudding kinda their jam. Hesse is basically part of this western culture along with todays NRW, Rheinland Pfalz and Baden Wüttemberg.
This western region is probably less known than prussian and bavarian culture in popular culture to germany , but in modern Times they are the most crucial part of germany after west german history and EU politics.

Ich stelle immer wieder fest, daß z.B. Fachwerkhäuser beim Betrachten irgendwie "Seele" haben. Leider sind die heutigen Häuser nur noch fast nur Profit und sehr beliebig.
Ja die heutigen Architekten verdrängen, dass Schönheit auch eine Funktion ist. Tote Schuhkartonbauten erfreuen niemanden beim Betrachten.

Ich liebe die alten historischen Häuser, die heutzutage leider nach und nach abgerissen werden, das ist respektlos gegenüber den ehemaligen Arbeiter ,die damals mit Händen Tag und Nacht gebaut haben,denn das ist eins der deutschen Werte.
Wo werden die denn bitte abgerissen, ich erlebe das ganz anders, bei uns bleiben selbst die letzten Bruchbuden stehen, selbst wenn sie kurz vorm zusammenfallen sind, weil sie durch das alte Fachwerk unter Denkmalschutz stehen.
