I haven't even watched it yet but I'm excited! Does anyone know of UA-cam channels that have full HBO or Showtime broadcasts from the early 80s till late 90s? Thank you!
@@msw8966 yeah I know it was a late response but just in case anyone hasn’t discovered the magic of Jay Seklow. It’s like he taped every single boxing event ever.
As a teenager, my hobby was recording boxing. I have a huge box of VHS tapes sitting in storage. Full boxing telecasts of HBO, Showtime, PPV, old USA Tuesday night fights, early Friday night fights. Late 90's through mid 2000s. I just don't know how to upload to UA-cam
People forget that Ramos was a pretty tough guy back in the 80's. He scored a one punch KO over Frankie Randell, something neither Chavez nor Rosario could do. Speaking Randell I didn't know he passed away just a little over a year ago. RIP Frankie, you had an incredible resurgence late in your career and beat one of the best fighters to ever live.
Ain’t sad how Camacho and Pernell never thought in a million years that they would die tragically? Lou Duva passed away of natural causes. Taylor isn’t doing so well after retiring from the sport. I guess Chavez is the last man standing out of the 3. Oh! And Harold Letterman! He’s gone as well. Crazy. RIP to all. ❤️
Bob Brown what does your comment mean? That all of the boxing full fight videos on UA-cam must first be uploaded to a torrent website? Or are you just recommending that if someone wants to watch classic boxing, there best off going to a boxing video torrent site?
It's funny how they didn't translate what the trainer said end of 6 round to 7. He said don't let it go to decision cause you'll get robbed. With headphones 🎧 you can hear it clearly
All three were exceptional boxers . Whitaker, Camacho, and Taylor. Sad 2 of them are not with us anymore. Whitaker , and Camacho . Taylor is in pretty bad shape now . It was a treat watching all 3 fighters as a kid .
In boxing when a figther is running away from boxing should had point take away.... many black figthers win only because the are USA figthers.... and it will continue untill now............ it sucks
if your looking for a reason why Floyd picks his opponents and fights so carefully take a look at meldrick Taylor now and listen carefully because you won't be able to understand him and Taylor fought fan friendly fights they're no such thing as a undisputed undefeated fighter but the difference between Taylor and Mayweather is this just listen to them today and tell me which one would you rather be
I didn't know that Taylor was showing signs of brain damage that quick on the next fight from Chávez. He really got battered I see that fight different now
While the Chavez fight wasn’t the best for Taylor (and should have stayed in the hospital instead of walking out 1 day later), the match that ended Taylor as a top boxer was massacred by Terry Norris. After that, everything fell apart for Meldrick.

Taylor was good but plenty flawed... not a very effective jab, average defense, and didn’t fight very smartly most of the time, slugging it out toe to toe with stronger foes when he should’ve stayed boxing from the outside using his speed

this was on my birthday....I remember watching with my dad and grandpa
I've been looking everywhere for this triple header so thank you for your upload.
Sad to see how all three headliners ended up... Camacho murdered, Whitaker hit by car and dies, and Taylor has pugilistic dementia.
I miss these triple and double header that they use to do and HBO broadcasting the fights

Meldrick was R U S H E D. He had 23 bouts to Chavez’ 66. That is horrendous match-making. Previously, Main Events Monitor rushed Biggs, Breland and later Taylor, Bajado and Vargas. Mel was a fighter that was very undisciplined between fights. It is easy to blame the ‘physical’ contact of Boxiana on health erosion. That is widely not the case at all. Examine Lou Duva’s words before the fight and his verbiage as Meldrick comes down the aisle and in the ring. Duva is a machine that expected Taylor to fight [ as though Meldrick is a horse (?) ]. Duva speaks absolutely nothing of Meldrick’s health, future and well-being. The same for Goerge Benton, who should have known better than Lou, being a former high ranking professional Pugilist. Lou’s ‘boxing career’ is not comparable.
Upon further retrospect, for the benefit of any Pugilist tomorrow, the art of match-making is critical. Who is the match maker ? Why is the fight sought and or made ?
Are the pugilists near experience level. Human lives are at stake people. On this day and timing; Meldrick did N O T have to spar, let alone fight so soon. He needed more recuperative time away, to receive further cognitive examinations. He was rushed on the path to and then towards a ‘super-fight’ with Chavez then to make a ‘comeback.’ For whom and for what ? For the reasons ‘Meldrick is an Olympic Gold medalist phenom at seventeen years of age ?’
Those were the actual reasons to S L OW his career. To develop him according to his prowess. Not according to a Gold medal.
In another retrospect, what was the rush for ? Greed from unHoly living perople, beginning with Mel, Duva, the commercial boxing machine at HBO, the commission members and then Meldrick’s particular inner circle. Who were they ? Shame on all of them. Today, Duva and Benton have long since passed away. HBO doesn’t host boxing events and no one ‘cares’ about the health and life of [ Meldrick ] Taylor. ©️Coach Hilario 2023
