Fellow Singaporean? Didn’t get your name. Thanks for this review, saw this amp selling online so I got curious. I am using a simple OTL tube amp now but have shortlisted a few when I am ready for it - Cayin HA300 MK ii, Felix’s Envy, Viva Egoista 845 and Transformatic Primavera. You mentioned about your TT2 being repaired? Can you share who or where you send it to please? Also, how do you determine what dB are you listening at on headphones?
To determine how many DB, you can use apps like db meter on app store. To be exact you need a proper rig but to know roughly just hold it close will be approximate.
My Hugo TT was recently repaired via AV One at Adelphi. Jeremy was nice and helped me settle it.
Now the MHA200 is a pushpull. So it’s kinda like solid state with tube flavour. Those you list are SET or OTL and they have much stronger tube sound.
Will you be able to try to review the Sennheiser He-1 one day? Wonder how that compares to something like the Mha200. curious to see how wide the gap is or is it really a matter of diminishing returns in experience.
I only tried it once at a canjam. Electrostatics sounds different from most headphones. Off my memory, I think there’s a gap but it’s quite small if you compare to Totl headphone with a good amp. It maybe more of a matter of preference then actually how good the headphone setup up is once you pass like 6-10k mark for headphone setup.
All that said, this was tested in a suboptimal manner of a show + I didn’t get to do direct AB on the spot. The HE1 definitely didn’t leave a best ever feel to me haha.
It didn’t come with that nice power cord right? What power cord is that if you don’t mind me asking?

I have this amp too. I upgraded my tubes from mullards to philip miniwatt and it brought in more detail and sweetness. Those tubes really get the most the aml.
Mine is still in repair due to some odd issue. Will try more tubes when it’s back
