She became anxious/unsupportive/controlling which pushed him away. He was living as a victim and not hearing what she needed and lashed out by flirting (perhaps cheating). Numbing with alcohol and wanting attention from lots of women is a symptom of a bigger issue. It’s ego based and comes from not feeling good enough or worthy. We are all responsible for our own lives. It’s up us to change our thoughts which then change our actions and hence change our reality. That’s how growth works and that’s how people heal. They both need to heal separately before being with anyone.
