Kalu Rinpoche (1905 - May 10, 1989) was a Buddhist lama, meditation master, scholar and teacher. He was one of the first Tibetan masters to teach in the West.
Kalu Rinpoche was born in 1905 during the Female Wood Snake year of the Tibetan lunar calendar in the district of Treshö Gang chi Rawa in the Hor region of Kham, Eastern Tibet.

At 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 10, 1989, Kalu Rinpoche died at his monastery in Sonada, the Darjeeling District in West Bengal, India. On September 17, 1990, Rinpoche's supposed Tulku was born in Darjeeling, India, to Lama Gyaltsen and his wife Drolkar. Lama Gyaltsen had served since his youth as his secretary.
The former Kalu Rinpoche supposedly chose the vessel for his reincarnation. The Tai Situpa Pema Tönyö Nyinje officially recognized Kalu Rinpoche's yangsi (young reincarnation) on March 25, 1992, explaining that he had received definite signs from Kalu Rinpoche himself. Situ Rinpoche sent a letter of recognition with Lama Gyaltsen to the 14th Dalai Lama, who immediately confirmed the recognition.[6]
On February 28, 1993, Yangsi Kalu Rinpoche was enthroned at Samdrup Tarjayling. The Tai Situpa and Goshir Gyaltsap presided over the ceremony, assisted by Kalu Rinpoche's heart-son, Bokar Tulku Rinpoche. The Tai Situpa performed the hair-cutting ceremony and bestowed on the young tulku the name Karma Ngedön Tenpay Gyaltsen - Victory Banner of the Teachings of the True Meaning. He is now known as the Second Kalu Rinpoche. (In the USA Kagyu organization, Karma Triyana Dharmachakra, recognizes Yangsi Kalu Rinpoche (1990 to present) as the third Kalu Rinpoche; and Kalu Rinpoche is listed as the second Kalu Rinpoche.[7])
In the fall of 2011, Kalu Yangsi gave a talk at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.[8] At the end of the talk, a student in the audience asked for his perspective on the sexual abuse and sexualisation of children in the west. Kalu disclosed he was abused, paused then broke down, revealing for the first time that he had been sexually abused at the age of 12 by older monks[9] from the monastery he attended. Shortly after that he posted a video on UA-cam[10] so that the story would not become unsubstantiated gossip.

We bhutanese very lucky on this planet why because we have lot of young rimpochey like Kalu rimpochey, dzongsar jamyang khentshey ,and maney Khempo contributing buddist philosophy .

I am a Blackman in Queens NY and in this modern time. I after careful studying of Tibetan Buddhism. In thirty two years and twelve ordained layperson. I always thought using derogatory language has been the death of my happiness. I am a mirror to my fellow human in this open community. I really don't know what else to do being surrounded by this and am aware of the pur pages of shakayimuni Buddha message. If none will atone to this well in middle Americans homes and family and friends should curse over government programs and use it when food insecurities are the agenda for delusional solutions like having poor views. RG for BUMMA I am it's founder the first NYC Buddhist clothing line 2023.

I think the farmer is artistically wise. Our true nature is happiness which continues to expand itself through😊 compassion for what we will at this point call the "others."

Of all the masters, I am a very big fan of Rinpoche.
Maybe you guys overthink life . All this is a reaction to reality and reaction is the only cause of suffering. Just feeling the presense or effects of any reaction in the body of me enables the power of nature of which we are a part of, an expression of, take care of itself and this heals your pain for sure. But you must feel it in your body beneath all that searching and thinking. Try it for yourself and see what happens

wow , only 3 lifetimes is possible?to become enlightened AND being? so according to my latest calculation , if we put into aquasion the 9 half lives that are left for all of us here now, to partially share, we are allmost half way to leaving some nice little space for even more souls to join the happy view : and who can possibly imagine the beauty that may grow from the smallest plant growing in the smallest space in this farmers ground , that he is willing to let us offer to help to keep clean? how small can we feel and how much space do we have to record the happyness this farmer has to offer from his point of vieuw , enjoing the vast light of the sun as his budding plant, as a loving farmer enjoying this warming light and as a loving human , willing to share his vieuw on this small aspect of his creation within the painfullness that is animal and even human WAY TO GO!! ( we can only be homeless once blind to life ;-) as humans and even animal God does leave us choice , but no possibility to live without enjoying HIS/HER/ITS creation .-) (NOT THIS WAY AKA depression is simply meaning :'another way?' + luckily anyone can disagree with erery body , SO🔃🔄 mathimatically✌🍀 there are endless choices for other ways according to any personality📯🙏 (💔there must be another way , may be the♥ human condition?)
