Sabaidee and welcome to my channel....Now in Lao!!
I'm an Australian currently living in Laos with my wife, Neenee.
This is a channel primarily dedicated to Laos and the people who live here, our daily lives and our travels within this amazing country. Thank you for watching and if you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to ask, by either commenting or contacting me via Facebook.

I'm really enjoying the house renovation and all that goes with it, anti-litter, fence, seeing the neighbor... Entertaining and uplifting vibe. Thanks for bringing us along.
And Mina's English is coming right along. Being completely fluent in both languages is such an asset for her future. Also, I could see her either developing her own YT channel or eventually picking up this channel when the old man is ready to pass it over. 😊
This is the first time
i have seen the floppy sledge hammer. I remember the jarring effect of the ones I used decades ago. You're right about watching TV. We don't even have one. Everything we watch is from the internet. Stay well.
Hi Todd. I'm famous! Thanks for slotting me into the video. I didn't realise I looked so ragged. Once again, it was an honour to catch up with you and to meet Mina. She's growing up to be a lovely young lady. Great video again. The boys are not messing about. The house is going to be brilliant.
No worries mate, really enjoyed getting to know you. Hopefully we'll see you back here one day. Thanks for the support David.. take care mate 🙏
Great job there Khun Todd. Touching Lives, Transforming Humanity, and changing the World 🌎
That was cool to see you put up my post about the clean up Australia campaigns ,,,too bad it’s harder to implement in Laos.
The house Reno is moving quicker than I expected,,and looking good.
Todd just a heads up, some young tourists died from drinking allegedly free alcohol in Vang Vieng, one of the girls was a Aussie from Melb, so if you see young back packers tell them to be careful and drink from unopened bottles or cans. It happens a lot drinking that methanol crap, poor kids and family, deepest Condolences to all concerned.
Thanks Steve.. yes, we're all well aware of it here mate and a massive shock to all.
Step by step. Looks good

The Gizas seem old but still Strong.
House is coming on fast😊 Recycling works around our Thai village - not a bottle or beer can is left lying about. If the village chief can organise bottle and can recycling, where some cash can be made, that might motivate some of the villagers not to dump.
Wow Todd, what a great discovery by Eddie. That piece of wood is probably hundreds of years old and well seasoned, and will make an excellent coffee table! Things are progressing at great speed, and so much has been achieved in 8 days! The whole place is going to be magnificent when finished, you won't recognise the place. Great idea about the car port and being able t go straight int the house from it. The sooner you get the fence up the better to stop all that rubbish being tipped and if not removed , entering the river in due course polluting it ad ultimately, the sea. Just think, that is happening on both sides of the river, all the way from China to Vietnam! Signs are a good odea, but if the Laotians are anything like the Thais, they just think that they are there to be ignored!. Great to see Mina mucking in with the builders, and inviting Eddie to share the food and suggesting that he wash his hands, thus destroying his excuse of having dirty hands. She so wanted him to eat with her. Keep them coming Todd, it is all so exciting. God bless you all 😀❤🙏
Hey Todd, keep up the good work about the litter and dumping, someone in the right place will hear hopefully. Cheers mate. Nev
Good Job by the lads, it will the Taj Mahal when its finished.
It looks like you're making progress. Eddie is doing the good work. Hopefully, as time moves on with this build that the trash dumping subsides. It starts with educating the young at
home and school. Somehow the motivation has to come with a campaign , perhaps through social media that makes trash pickup cool and fun. Your Thoughts Todd ,Neenee and Mina
All the best . 👍👍 Jim and Harriet
Howdy Brother,,yes indeed! Uncle Marlon was drooling over the beautiful chunk of wood. I wonder what kind of wood that is,,appears to be as heavy as ironwood. Rustic furniture builders here,,when using gnarly, twisted gorgeous wood,,like juniper,,they use high pressure,,fine tipped sand blasters. I'm really curious to see the top after its smoothed and sealed. You should give my awesome niece a new title. Foreman,,,Forewoman actually. She try's to help with everything. ❤❤❤❤❤ Mina bug! Neenee is coming up with great ideas. Great crew,,unbelievably great progress,,too. I think the idea for signage is a brilliant idea as well. Look forward to more. Todd,,Neenee,,and Mina bug ❤❤❤❤ ,,take care of yourselves. Ttyl,,,Marlon
G'day Tod, nice work on the house mate. Yeh like you say, some nice big signs everywhere, and also some nice big visible fake cameras should do the job ay
Helo Todd ffor renovation and construction work, let's hope that you are not hit by strong winds or several days of heavy rain, it's quite approximate all the same, my friends in the Haiphong region have built or had built in this way and the Yagi storm took everything away, killed more than 80 people (ah the statistics) and destroyed even the rice fields to the point that from 400 kg of rice the luckiest ones got only 200 kg (400 kg of rice is less than 300 dollars of sale...) Good luck et thanks for everything
Good idea mate ,let the wife decide on the tiles
The fish didn’t look to appetizing to me 😊 The house is starting to look great and those workers are amazing
The house is really coming along. Mina is getting so big so fast. Her english is really good as well. 👍
Her catch on the waterfall/sand waterfall was quick. I agree that her English progression is amazing. When she reaches her late teens she will be fluent in both languages. If she can can keep her schooling up to the same speed as her language skills, she will have amazing collegiate opportunities.
Love these house update vids Todd. The place is coming along nicely. You can't beat the style of a block base and teak upper level. So classic in Laos and Thailand. I'd love to do one up. Cheers Simon👌👌👌🍻🍻🍻
Plastic is a problem/ especially in the water / River!! But the place is coming along nicely 👍
Firstly, I'm glad to see you are wearing a hat.😊 . Great video. Love the view of the Mekong. Exciting work happening on the house. Take care.
If we don't see another vlog before Xmas. Have a very merry Xmas and family gathering to everyone ❤.
When ya putting in the golf course? Lol! Looking good!
Wow it's really coming along, didn't catch what Eddie is going to plant guess I will have wait and see. These construction guys you have seem to their working skills down pat. Can't wait to see the final results
Hi Todd, Neenee and Mina the house is coming along nicely......what beautiful views
All yah need if 6 Crocs and about 2 dozen Snakes and 4 Drop bears and naturally 4 Tassie Devils. That will stop the dumpers
Hey Tod, you must have got the plans and DA put through council so quickly 555
Looks good mate, I reckon it’s therapeutic doing a project like this. Keep the progress vids coming mate. Unfortunate about the dumping but good to see you’re putting up a fight against it.
Yeah.. the council's telepathic lodging system here is super efficient, no problems at all with minimum cost 😆👍
You probably already thought of this but, the construction ruble needs to go on the riverbank. Those piles of cut brush should also be kept on the riverbank. You are correct that Lao TV is not watched very much. As you know, satellite dishes are cheap and can access a lot of free programing from Thailand.
I was also going to suggest a do not litter sign. But also add "this proprty is monitored by CCTV" on the sign. That will really make people think twice about carrying a bag of trash the river bank.
Wow those guys dont mess around! looking good!
hi guys
Sumbydee ❤Thanks for sharing ❤ It's going to looks nice once it's done!! Awesome job Todd and Nee Nee!!
It looking great 👍
First😊
ONE BITE AT A TIME.... That's how we are getting through our fixer upper ❤️
💯🔥💙👍
You'd be waiting months for permits then have a bill for at least 150k for those Reno's in Australia! Just another reason I'm in the process of building a base in laos 👌
its a pity todd someone doesent have a shredder and melt the plastic into plastic fence posts
Great job!!
Hi Todd there (the government) need to have a recycling for bottle and cans. It is an income for the locals.
Hi Guys
Tat is great progress in such a short time and shows others who are considering living in Lao how easy do up projects are. Yes Edie and I have been chatting about farming already. He is really keen to come and visit us some time, so maybe an excuse for a visit from you guys?
@@chrisperkins7331 Great stuff Chris.. will have to be after we return from Aus now mate 👍
@@NowinLao Ok see you next year. Have a good trip, just make sure you pack some hankies I think you will all need them at the airport in Melbourne
@@chrisperkins7331 Not going to Melbourne.. Sydney 😉
@@NowinLao OK you will still need the hankies
Theres more trash to dump now...all the plastic bottles and plastic stuff....I remember all those adds on TV as well...different times
So much plastic now 🫤
Hi Todd, about the rubbish, are there in Laos compagnies collecting the rubbish, may be in the big cities but not in the country side? Who gonna pay to collect the rubbish? What the people can do with their rubbish? Burning them? Are there incinerator in Laos? We have to pay to collect the rubbish and have them being burned in incinerator or being recycled but the problem still exists because we have to pay some extra for some rubbish. Can the government support all the cost? Thank you for all the videos. Like them😊
Hi Todd, you look more "local" with your hat 😅
❤👍👍👍🙏
how is the drinking scene in laos?
Pigs poo in one spot and sleep in another. If you put 2 pigs together they will poop in the other one sleeping spot.
Wow so sad to hear that 2 Australian young girls where poisoned in Laos with one dying already
@@Jett.Jai1234 unfortunately, 1 of them died this morning 😔
That piece of wood looks like a giant dinosaur tooth
its a shame culture. put up signs every 10 feet to not dump trash. clean it all up, sign should say something to the effect of. your welcome to come just leave only memories no dumping trash.
Too bad all that trash cant be used and recycled into something and incentivize the people by paying a fee per pound and a drop off location.
Todd! Eddie 👍Handyman
Hi Todd. Can you comment on the events at Vang Vieng?
@@jamespunch8049 Sad situation indeed. I can comment, yes, but I won't be doing a video on it.
Having a meeting with nineban and villager about dumping rubbish! See what happens!
