Audeze is coming out with a new gaming headset called Penrose based on this Mobius design. It's more focused at gamers for low-latency 2.4ghz connectivity and Bluetooth connectivity only (no sound through USB). None of the fancy 3d stuff or carry case. It's meant to have a better mic and fix a few complaints of the Mobius. I have pre-ordered one. Really looking forward to using it as an all-purpose media headset!
@jnetterr you can preorder it directly from Audeze. Currently $50 off on preorder. I'm in New Zealand so have secured one through a local distributor. I bought the 'Audeze Penrose' for PS, but they also have one (Penrose X) designed to work with Xbox. Edit: Release Due September
Great overview! Will you be reviewing the new Audeze Penrose when that comes out as well? I already preordered but would like to see what you think especially compared to the Mobius it’s based off of.
Ordered mine for black friday for $299 off Amazon. Same price as the penrose, but the penrose only has Lossless audio where the mobius has Hi-Res 24bit audio vs 16bit CD quality. I returned my Orbit S for these. I found myself listening to music a lot with the Orbits. So these will be awesome.
Nice headphones and seems to be pleasing and convincing. But the issue of aux connectivity which is power dependent is so annoying, why?! It is a lethal issue for such luxury piece of high tech!
How's the audio quality over BT when gaming? Is there any lag or latency with regards to both the headphones and mic? I was about to shell out on one of these, but held back when I saw Audeze's site that said the Penrose was coming soon. That one has lossless wireless. I'm not really into the 3D audio as much as I'm concerned about the quality of the mic, and the latency of the audio. Since the drivers are the same between the Mobius and the Penrose, that's not an issue.
@@TheProvokedPrawn Thanks. Yeah, I figured that BT isn't quite the best kind of connection for gaming. I'll be keeping an eye out for you Penrose review!
@@TheProvokedPrawn yeah I know but the point is they basically sound the same correct, btw love your vids, and don't u think the value offer of the orbits are better?
So sad that I just recently got new headphones and likely won't get these for another 5-8 years :( shoulda done more research but I only knew about these because of hyperx and my last headset was hyperx so I wanted to try something new. Got a g pro x and honestly think it's a downgrade besides wireless

The audio is fine but connectivity and battery life isn't. Everyone is asking about Penrose. I might have to see if I can get one in.

Aren't these basically the hyperx orbit s but with Bluetooth?
Other way around. These are the original.
