As someone who bought Out of the Blue when it was new, this is an amazing cover of Mr Blue Sky. I really didn't expect Weezer to nail it as good as they did. Don't get me wrong, Weezer is great but Mr Blue Sky is one of ELOs most covered songs and one that few seldom get right.

I admit that when I was young, and weezer first came along, I was simply a metalhead and didn't really like this band too much until I saw the video for buddy holly in the happy days setting , but remained with the self given label of a metalhead who just liked stuff like slayer , motorhead, sepultura, and heavy bands like them. now a bit older, and I still refer to Lemmy as God , but I have definitely found this band to be one of the better bands to be around in the music world because this is a band with extraordinary talent/ability and a band that transcends beyond any labels , and they have certainly evolved and displayed true staying power. much respect to weezer
weird al , the guy that still has not aged . that dude is more talented than most people will ever realize. so many people will never see the beyond the gimmick to appreciate his actual level of talent . I remember the 90s as a teenager , the 90210 days of everybody trying to be all GQ . trends really dominated & restricted what a lot of the youth of that era were "allowed" to like or do. even I was guilty of that sort of thing a few times back then ; but then again , maybe that era had nothing to do with it and I say that because I work for a school district Maint Dept and today's generation of teenagers are just as bad about image and trends as the 90s generation was .

I listened to this song ( original ) when I was 10 and it changed my life. Out of the blue was the first album of music I wanted to have because I discovered it for myself . To this day I can hear Out of the Blue , it is timeless , a perfectly produced album. Glad to find Weezer picking it for a cover.. Doing it justice ..and most important : with the coda. This is one of my fav songs. If the Weez only put out an album of covers, I would not appreciate this one as much, but right behind this one is the"Black" Album... Boom!

I listened to this song ( original ) when I was 10 and it changed my life. Out of the blue was the first album of music I wanted to have because I discovered it for myself . To this day I can hear Out of the Blue , it is timeless , a perfectly produced album. Glad to find Weezer picking it for a cover.. Doing it justice ..and most important : with the coda. Never play Mr. Blue Sky without the coda!
