  • With deliberate attention, we can create the physical, mental, and emotional health we desire at any age. The first step is identifying where we want to be at “X” age. In this mini-episode, Dr. Hyman speaks with Dr. Peter Attia about his personal action plan for longevity, and as he likes to put it, training for the Centenarian Olympics.
Dr. Peter Attia is the founder of Attia Medical, PC, a medical practice with offices in San Diego and New York City, focusing on the applied science of longevity. His approach focuses on increasing lifespan by delaying the onset of chronic disease, while simultaneously improving “healthspan,” or quality of life. To do this, his practice applies nutritional biochemistry, exercise physiology, sleep physiology, techniques to increase distress tolerance, lipidology, pharmacology, and endocrinology.

I never really thought about being able to carry groceries up stairs or being able to put my luggage in the overhead compartment of the airplane, but he is so right in saying this. This is how we do not become a burden to our loved ones when we become older, something that is very important to me. Thank you for this information, very thought provoking.

I am shocked at how many women my age cannot lift their groceries, etc. My mother is 84 and still cans her own foods, cooks holiday meals and gardens.

Go see an ND. They are the premier functional med doctors. all functional med practitioners are only certified with no regulating perimeter (there are several certification programs ALL on line).

Attia should add one thing to the list of 18 things. #19 should be add a sense of humor! Despite nice prodding by Hyman, you can't get a smile or so much as a giggle out of Attia!

I am 78 fit and well and follow a similar regime.
Because Dr. Peter Attia is only 47 he should feel great, no matter what his regime!
The test will be for him in 40 years time. Then he can talk with great authority

Eesh, I have listened to many of your videos. All I hear is egomania. I have gone to several 'functional medicine' MDs. They to me are just candy coated white coats still. I finally went to a licensed ND. Holy heck! A world of difference. Naturopathic doctors ARE the Premier functional medicine doctors and are trained for over 4yrs in treating the whole person, not the disease. I was blown away what I have learned and am still learning. MDs didn't want to go back to school to learn the paradigm of naturopathic medicine. Jeffery Bland was their professor, and he started the IFM certification for MDs. Save yourself lots of time and money, and go to an ND. I have unlimited energy now, no pain, sleep like a baby, my ideal weight>>> and a great libido! :))
