I had never heard of chlorogenic acid until recently when it was mentioned in Dr Zemel's research on the interaction of Leucine and Resveratrol, which are worth a read. They tested different polyphenols in a followup paper which is where the chlorogenic acid came in. Then switched to some pharmaceuticals for Phase 2 humans trials. Looks promising.
According to MedlinePlus, roasted coffee _still_ contains chlorogenic acid. In any case, I read that chlorogenic acid has not been approved as a prescription drug or food additive recognized as a safe ingredient for foods or beverages. There is not enough evidence to determine whether it is safe or effective for human health in high doses.
Not certain about drinking "beans" as there has never been any real RCT's (lock and key, metabolic ward), but "flicking the bean" so to speak has proven to increase NEAT, non-exercise activity thermogenesis which could increase total energy used in a day. coffee is not roasted to 475 degrees! At an internal temp of 455 degrees, it's totally burnt and will burst into flame. If the roaster pulls it out of the oven and the beans are 455, they will taste awful, well... burnt! Medium roasts end up with internal temps of 425 to 435. Darker roasts from 442 to 448 (which are dark enough for most people to taste a burnt taste, as in Charbucks). One thing he is right about though is that the darker the coffee is roasted, the less of the beneficial compounds like chlorogenic acid remain in the bean. Hi Nicolas, in this Video No subtiteles where available. Although my Englisch is quite good I used to activate subtitles from time to time to read while I am Hearing to get rare words better. Also the automatic Translation Tool from UA-cam often makes a good Job in translating these words. Will you be able to activate subtitles in the Future. Greetings from Leipzig in Germany Tobias
@Physionic your Welcome Most of your other Videos have subtitles . Anyway i was able to follow the Video and your pronounciation is very clear in General so it is easier to follow. Nevertheless your content or the vocab in the Videos are kind of advanced for a non native speaker. Of course it is because of the content and the topic of this nice channel
If you watch a video as soon as it goes public, sometimes not all features are available. I didn't realize that myself until I uploaded some of my own videos. Even the resolutions are restricted. There's a processing time of hours, sometimes a day or so for longer videos. A video will first unlock only at low resolution and no subtitles and then as the processing completed other resolutions and subtitles unlock over time. As a creator there may be a way around this by uploading and then delaying making them public, but I don't upload enough to know from experience. I just know new videos don't always have everything unlocked, resolution limitations and subtitles being the most obvious (to me). I'm not sure if there's other things restricted until fully processed. On the user side you need both the UA-cam processing to finish and then a browser cache refresh. (Usually automatic with a browser reload but not always)
@Physionic It's been a while, but I don't think the.results.were really strong. Especially, compared to green tea. Having said thst, we also looked.at the skin of the coffee bean, which has interesring phytosterols. I was actually discussing this with the CEO of a coffee.company yesterday. Because, there is so much waste after roasting.
@Physionic The question we were examining was whether coffee roasting turns specific phytosterols into toxic substances. This was actually done in the lab. I can send you a paper on this topic, if you're.interedted. For the chlorogenic acid experiment, I checked.but could not find the lab material.
Zero Side Effects, could be because they started with 50 volunteers, dosed them before the study started, and eliminated those who had adverse reactions.

@@MelloCello55 They do. It adds weight to their words. Sometimes they have no title sometimes they have doctor of Chiropractic title which honestly makes them as much of a doctor as sport glasses make you an athlete.
I was saving this as a reward to watch after my workout. 3:20 SAME and your face(s) make me laugh.
About the metabolism. He was saying that they are 2400 kcal and burned 2000 kcal bmi which is an increase in weight of 400 kcal. Critical thinking is your friend.
Jesus you phrased it almost as poorly as Dr Oz. 400 cals was the approximate deficit... 17 lbs x 3500cals/lb ÷ 22 weeks ÷ 7 days/week = 386 cals/day
400 calories was the approximate daily deficit. 17 lbs x 3500 cals ÷ 22 weeks ÷ 7 days = 386 cals
Yeah. Dokter Oz lost me when he claimed these people had a Basal Metabolism of 400 Calories per day. Did he mean to say 1,400? That's plausible.
That was so funny - more of these pls!
Thanks for the feedback - I was hesitant to release this, actually. It was worth it if you got a chuckle out of it (and hopefully learned a thing or two!)
The “magic” is the humans will say/do anything or fame or fortune…imagine that!
Thanks - I'll see what I can do
@Physionic your Welcome Most of your other Videos have subtitles . Anyway i was able to follow the Video and your pronounciation is very clear in General so it is easier to follow. Nevertheless your content or the vocab in the Videos are kind of advanced for a non native speaker. Of course it is because of the content and the topic of this nice channel
Retry now, I was waiting myself and I have noticed that the text is finally available.
@@Physionic it seams to Work now. Maybe a UA-cam bug
I actually did a lab where we administered chlorogenic acid to cancer cells to see if there would be a positive effect.
What happened?
@Physionic Also, on further reflection, I think the experiment was to see if chlorogenic acid could affect insulin levels in a cancer cell line.
"Hello everybody"
"Hi Dr Nic"
You have to do a Simpsons meme
Physionic / Dr. Mike collab when!? 🤯
Ha! If only. I’m way too small a channel to be on the radar.
@@Physionic well I think you have a great channel! Keep up the good work!
Zero Side Effects, could be because they started with 50 volunteers, dosed them before the study started, and eliminated those who had adverse reactions.
Certainly possible - that would need to be reported, which it wasn't, but who knows...
I don't want results, I want problems always!
Dr. Nic wins again. I am not sure if I missed it, but was this study retracted after Dr. OZ used it for his promotional information, or after? If it was retracted after, it would be nice to see if Dr. OZ also retracted his promotion of this product.
The science white hats like Dr. Nic will be very busy in the coming years.
I would like to hear your thoughts on krill oil and its potential to reduce Alzheimer’s, as discussed in Nick Norwitz's latest video. Thank you.
Why was the study retracted?
Some one posted the official reason in a post above.
Can’t wait for Dr. Ducette to weigh in
In Wikipedia Dr.Oz is listed just as Mehmet Cengiz Öz. Does this mean the "Dr" is just for show?
Learn to read more than a headline.
Wikipedia lists everyone by their names not their title. His education is listed in the article (md = medical doctor)
Your reading comprehension sucks if you managed to find Wikipedia and failed to notice the information you asked is answered there.
That Dr. OZ is a dishonest huckster is the perfect and only qualification that Trump needs to nominate him to administer one of the most expensive, complex, and critically necessary bureaucracies in the world.
I unsubbed from Dr. Mike when he claimed that canola oil consumption is not harmful.
Makes a differece if it's GMO or not organic. Autor of "Seeds of Deception" was on CoastAM the other night he's censored off all other media.
That's called 'throwing the baby out with the bathwater'
...your loss, is basically what it amounts to.
Well, it isn't. But from this video, Dr. Mike doesn't look at original sources, which stops me from being interested in him.
Seems like your impressed with Israetel.
I'm not impressed with the juice monkey.
It is kinda wacky how some studies have such a small sample size, I get it due to budget and getting participants can be a challenge.
Was the study retracted before or after that Dr. Oz episode? Do we know the reason for the retraction? Not that I'm a Dr. Oz fan -- far from it. Also, I've never watched Dr. Mike. Now, I can see myself watching him when I need a jolt of Bronx humor.
Also worth nothing that green tea extract can cause liver failure. People just need to eat less and get off their asses more (not necessarily "move more" or "do exercise") and get up off that sofa, chair, or bed and live a little.
Can you link the full video? I couldn’t find it on your channel, Thanks
Thank you for the reminder, I added it
Nic, please, pretty please do one on "the unified theory of sleep: eukaryotes endosymbiotic relationship with mitochondria and rem the push back response for awakening"
It's a life or death quest for me as I have little sws and the connection here to my problem seems to be my best fit to my experience here with other metabolic effects too. Perhaps cyanide (i work hplc), perhaps thc, perhaps my own northern uncoupled mitochondria, who knows. You if anyone. 🙏
As "Dr" Oz is going to hold a position in Trump's benevolent regime of truth and light, I would curb my criticism if I were you or Dr Mike...
@mbarley
That's a...
'compliance beforehand' stance - for passive cowards...
I sincerely doubt it's a strategy Dr. Nic or Dr. Mike would consider (obviously)😊
Just my 2cents...but I do know you were kidding😆
@barbarafairbanks4578 I was kidding but as I am nit an American I can act 'brave' without implications. Let's hope our bravery won't be tested as shameless people the likes of dr Oz assume positions of power
Coffee speeds up my digestion ie poo.😊
What a twist!
Hehe :)
White bean extract?
Does anyone know, why such a solid video does NOT have captions? I have to abandon it now, so if they will become available at any time, can anyone notice me, please?
Hey - I just checked on the back end and UA-cam is still processing the captions. Nothing I can do, but wait.
@@Physionic subs are there, video watched, now for the algoooooo!
How old is that DR. Oz episode?
Does Israeletz do clinical research studies?
He holds a PhD - that does mean that he did have to at one point.
I would guess, though, that he currently does not.
His "knowledge" is second hand at best.
“But Nic there is a major oversight you over looked” I say in the comments
“What’s that? Something I missed?” Replies Nic
“You missed the part about Dr Israel being HUGE! After not agreeing with him, though he was basically right, he’ll eat you for breakfast ”
(Contents removed by UA-cam censor team) Yells Nic
Whatever you say, Dr. Physionics
2:14 need to see the study for the magic claims re age 8
Coffee is a coffee bean extract.
It's the holy grail stack
This should start with if the results support drinking more coffee, so we know if we want to watch... 😅
You missed a coffee joke there when you said not my cup of tea. Shame
I'm slipping...
That was a thing... the punchline was a kicker though.
Does Dr. Mike have legs or is he like Professor X?
Hmm... I actually... don't know...

He's the same height sitting as standing.. 5'6..
My youtube spheres are intersecting. 😁
The average make would burn about 1600-1800 calories/day just breathing ...
Dr. Oz should have talked about dr.Pepper the miracle soda, so that there would have been 4 Dr's in this title.
I am sure Dr. Oz would love to get Dr.Pepper money and totally prepared to sacrifice his first born, so this is not far fetched.
Participants in the study we around 170 pounds? I'M 170 pounds at 5'6". I'M overweight?
I forgot I was watching nics video, you scared me there
Am I that ugly? 😂
