Adrian Yanez is like a mini Masvidal, however he doesn't kick the way Masvidal does
Yanez has the smoothest hands in mma I've ever seen

although the hype will inevitably die off a little bit due to the Font fight, Yanez got HANDS hands
Petr Yan is the most fundamentally sound in terms of boxing. too bad he’s in deep waters now after losing 3 straight

Dustin only beat Max cuz of the power advantage. Max has pillow hands, that's always been his weakness.

This is very subjective because it’s hard to really know the true boxing potential of a fighter in an MMA match.
Yes Dustin is definitely the best boxer in ufc. Holloway may be good at striking but his defense is one of the worst.

Solid list. I'd like to add JDS. He was great boxer in his prime with scary power.
Also I think that Holloway lacks a lot in boxing defense.
I'd take Dustin over Max. Max is mainly offense. His volume is his defense. He drowns you until he doesn't have to worry about your offense coming back at him. Not to mention his chin is a pretty good crutch
I thought of JDS too but I actually think Stipe might even be better with the hands. The way he dismantled DC but exposing that left hook to the body was masterful

There’s a reason why Conor ducked Masvidal.
Mcgregor beats Masvidal in counter striking and timing.
All other things about boxing, Masvidal beats Conor. From footwork to speed & power to combinations
Dustin outboxed Conor. And conor ducked many guys like Masvidal or Gaethje for a reason. And just compare their fights against Nate. Masvidal dominated Nate, Nate hurt Conor
Conor ducked nonody. Masvidal just wants a payday. And dustin beat conor with legkicks and conor broke his leg the 3rd fight
@@BigDaveT.V Dustin outstriked Conor in both fights with sign strikes and even tkoed him. He also checked Conors leg kicks which caused the damage. And Conor ducked Masvidal, even Dana said that Conor is too small for him. And Conor also ducked Gaethje, when he chose old Cowboy who previously lost to Gaethje and now the same with Chandler.

I feel like they're just too many guys with good boxing to keep it at just top 5. Guys like Jack Della Maddalena, Cory Sandhagen, and Petr Yan etc who aren't on this list are just as good as anyone on this list, some better than others. Props to him for acknowledging Masvidal though despite his recent skid but I wouldn't put him at number one.
Dustin beat Max in a pure standup fight. So it makes total sense to put Dustin at #5 and Max ahead of him at #3 (said no one). But that’s subjective lists for you. No rhyme or reason. My top 5 doesn’t have to be your top 5, and what’s sad is most sports fans can’t take that. They’d rather argue to their own detriment than leave another man’s opinions about a sport as just that - his own opinion. Just my opinion 😁

@@juanpaz929 Tbh, the difference between 155 and 145 is so negligible that the guys in back literally see them as the same weight class. Why do you think Max was the backup fighter for the 55 strap and couldn’t even make 55 on a week’s notice vs Khabib? Max is taller than Dustin. Max lacks power at 145 too really, and would at 135. He’s a volume striker who uses his cardio as a weapon. Brilliant, but doesn’t have an uppercut. He mostly throws 1’s and 2’s, but can fight equally well out of both stances.
But a better boxer than Dustin? The power (or lack thereof) is yet another good reason why I cannot and will never put him ahead of 💎 Great point (apart from the weight. Conor’s power carried over in his very first fight at 155)

How in the hell isn't Yan on this list?? He is legitimately ranked Master of Sports in boxing and even porier said he has the best boxing in the ufc.

Same, although most of his career he would piss me off for not tucking that chin, but on his last fight with Figuero, he finally made that change and it paid dividends, his opponent couldn’t find that chin and Moreno put the work on him.
Moreno sucks.
Putting masvidal at #1 ruined the credibility of his list.
Compare this top 5 list to a top 5/10/20 list of all-time UFC greats and then you'll truly understand that boxing really isn't all that important in MMA.

Yeah imo it’s Poirier and or yan for the top pure boxers in the ufc, some guys go yan which is fair some Poirier. I lean more towards Poirier because he isn’t a slow starter, he has 5 round cardio, has an insanely good chin, and has consistent knockout power where yan I think is overall a better overall mauy Thai striker, but then after Poirier or yan at 1 and 2 is a prime max Holloway, then it’s a prime Jorge masvidal at 4 and only then Conor at 5. There are some really slick prospects and contenders who I do think will eventually slide past a lot of these guys, guys like topuria and Magdalena has some super slick boxing, but yeah, it’s weird to put Poirier at 5 imo when he and max in there primes beat max and for the second time in their career, and when he beat Conor twice in their actual prime years. Dustin also beat guys like Pettis, Alvarez, boxed the head and body off of Justin gaethje, hooker, chandler. But still, masvidal and Conor have that starpower and popularity and a lot of their highlights are more eye catching even though again Poirier is a consistent finisher who also can win hard dog fights against killers

Not an MMA hardcore hardcore but fighters that leapt out to me on boxing were, Petr Yan and Robert Whitaker.
poirier definitely no 1 in lightweight
People usually have yan as their best boxer in the ufc in terms of pure boxing, and I mean sure I do see why and he is a master of sport of boxing in Russia which is a title that doesn’t come easy, but honestly I still think Poirier is hands down the best boxer in the ufc. He’s definitely the best boxer in the lw but I rate him above yan. Yan is a far better Muay Thai striker, Dustin has good low kicks but he doesn’t throw head kicks or body kicks well. But Dustin is fast for a lw, has good shot selection, isn’t a notoriously slow starter like yan…has good persistent knockout power on top of a great chin, great 5 round cardio even during a war and he’s got a lethal finishing instinct. I mean just look at his fight with Holloway. A smaller faster beast of a fighter and with an uncrackable chin and was the number 2 pfp fighter on the planet behind jones when they fought and Poirier boxed him up in that fight

That’s outrages how can you have Max as your number 3 and not have Volk in there when Volk destroyed Max with Boxing
Personally, its Dustin, Yanez, Jack Della Maddallena, Holloway, and then Conor. I don't even like Dustin but be beat two on that list and has boxed up other contenders. I think Yanez and JDM could surpass those guys in pure boxing ability in the future, we'll see.
