Violet Evergarden was 2018’s best anime if I remember correctly and putting it in the same level as you just put something meaningful to an ENTIRE community is just as insensitive. But then again saying everything is worth complimenting and support is not only insensitive but not true cause there’s enough harem out there like Monster Musume to not be fairly compared to this level of acknowledgement. There’s enough hetero harem out there the way there is just not enough or as much yaoi to match or be appreciated to fairly compete or make a statement like that. You basically said all anime matters to an already oppressed and yes suppressed community that is marginalized compared to people who will always have more then enough harem or hetero romance anime. I’m not offended even though I should be. Just not surprised that people still don’t understand the kinda ramifications their words can have. You might offend someone else though if you are not careful making such sweeping generalizations in a statement that can sound insensitive and cause damage like that.

You should read the manga first. Then watch the movie. There’s gonna be 3 parts I think and the OVAs which I believe is this. Reading the Manga first will help you get a better grasp of what’s going on you know. I also like the song moratorium the theme song for this quite beautiful and shows the story pretty well. This is a yaoi though so read and watch knowing that lol.
