Hello, you don’t have to have the long hook, there are others that are extendable with cables or you can also use an ordinary crochet hook with a smooth handle. I have a whole tutorial on tools for Tunisian crochet.

I mostly use stitch dictionaries for basic stitches, I then combine and alter them in my patterns that are available on my blog.
