    You can't do a video about replacing a horn without letting us hear it!

    It would be nice to see a bit more detail on the bumper remove and install. For example, how to remove the clips and what to get to replace them, positioning of the bumper when replacing it, etc.

    It would've been nice to see the removal of the bumper process, and your wiring process.

    Subaru fixed the horns for 2023 models. Loud American-style horns. No more weak Asian sounding horns. Finally! Thank you Subaru!

    Loose exposed wires, loose mounting, and copious amounts of loose tape.
    Thanks for sharing.

    Any reason you didn't put the two horns in the exact spot that the stock horns were in? Was it just to save you some work? The two concerns I have for the way you chose to mount are 1. You address that gap behind the driver's side horn and I can imagine that thing rattling fore an aft occasionally knocking against the metal frame behind it creating more noise while driving over uneven surfaces. 2. Not a big deal but possibly covering the front of a cooling circuit may reduce its effectiveness. Of course I really encourage you to make a video with the before and after on every project you do. It's more attractive and convenient for your viewers to not have to go hunt on another site. It also increases traffic for you and possibly subscribers.
    If you're thinking about doing other projects here's a few things I'm thinking about on mine that I'd love to see you do.
    1. A Cobb tuning computer upgrade
    2. Copper colored seat belts to match the stitching and badging.
    3. Replacing all the incandescent bulbs on the interior and exterior. I believe it turn signals front and back maybe incandescent still.
    4. Upgrade the speakers And possibly add an amp. Rockford fosgate tends to be the go to for Subaru Outback.
    Thanks for the work you do and best of luck as you improve learn and grow and improve your videos.

    Will the new horn block cool airflow to the oil cooler?

    Why did you run a ground to the battery; instead of a ground point on the chassis? Call me a rube but my auto training taught me nothing connects directly to the battery.

    • @wildxtrek
      @wildxtrek  Рік тому

      There is a ground that runs to a bolt behind the bumper. The lead that runs to the battery is to draw extra power for the horns. When i got the harness, the leads were all clearly labelled on what goes where.

    Thanks for the video. Are you using a plug and play harness for the horns?

    • @wildxtrek
      @wildxtrek  Рік тому

      I am using the now discontinued Subimods Hella Horn v4 Harness. Unfortunately Subimods stopped selling their harnesses, but I do believe they do sell a similar Grimmspeed one. They cost about $40

      @@wildxtrek Good to know. I just sold my Grimmspeed hardness off my 2018 WRX because I assumed the connections were different.

    Hey man, thanks for the video! I plan on doing this in the next month or so. Unfortunately, the link you shared for the bracket is not working. Do you have an alternate link or an exact part number? I appreciate it.

    • @wildxtrek
      @wildxtrek  2 роки тому +1

      It appears that Subimods has discontinued their bracket and harness that I use in the video. You may want to contact them to confirm what replacement products are compatible with your car.

    I’m dying to get rid of my horn. I know they’re not the same car, but do you think the steps would be similar for my 22 Legacy since yours is also a 22? Honestly, any help is appreciated.

    • @wildxtrek
      @wildxtrek  Рік тому

      I would imagine the steps are very similar, especially with your Legacy. the Outback and Legacy share the same platform.

    Did the skid plate made interference in removing the bumper ?

    • @wildxtrek
      @wildxtrek  2 роки тому

      No. The skid plate does not affect removing the bumper. It begins just behind where the bumper connects to the bottom. However, the skid plate DOES get in the way of trying to install the fog lights from under the car, which is why its actually easier to remove the bumper to work anything in the front end of the car.
