How to use Quick Clean Case and Quick Clean Pod to clean Philips S9986/63 shaver Price on Amazon: amzn.to/3rYPvS9 More useful things on my website: www.trafegon.com
Okay, so let's clear a few things up for everyone in the comments section here. The cleaning pods cost about £15.99 on Amazon for a box of three cartridges. Each cartridge will last about a month if you shave and clean once per day, or it'll last about 3 months if you shave and clean your shaver once a week. So effectively, 9 months of cleaning will cost £15.99, which isn't too bad at all. Each cartridge is effective for upto 30-cleaning cycles. After each shave, you would be best to rinse the shaver/blades off in warm water to get rid of hairs, or brush out with the little brush usually provided in the box. After this, you would place the shaver in the cleaning pod for one minute. Once cleaning is complete, you can leave your shaver in the cleaning pod until it air-dries naturally. Then, once dry after an hour or so, you can either place shaver back on the charging stand or store in its zip case. The cleaning agent in the pods leaves your shaver x10 cleaner than using water alone, according to Philips. The cleaning formula includes active lubricants to keep your blades in good condition for a longer period of time. The cleaning agent also has a fresh fragrance and is alcohol free. It also prevents 99.9% of bacteria growth from hairs and skin-oils. I hope this clears a few of the questions.
Good job with the video. I wasn't sure first time I tried to open the lit of the cartridge if I'm doing the right way as it needed much more force to open than I expected. I'm always happy for that kind of videos, thank you very much.
Cool demonstration and cool soundtrack. I have always flipped the head mount and rinsed most if not all the observable whisker hair away before cleaning in the fluid, Thanks for the reassurance and guidance. Isn't it a good idea to have another pod ( if you can afford it £26 Gbp approx with shipping) without cleaning fluid in it and store the shaver kinda upside down on bathroom mirror shelf ?
Thanks - I had been wondering about that little window at the front, and now I know it does NOTHING! I assumed a green light would come on when it was finished.
Nicely done. How often does the cleaning liquid needs to be replaced and do you have any idea how much it will cost? Moreover, can you clean it with warm tap water?
Thanks for this as I found the boxed instructions unclear! Do you know if you can you leave the cleaning fluid in the pod set up or do you have to remove and dry after each use please?
Hi, one question... Do you leave the cartridge in the cleaning pod after cleaning your razor or do you take it out of the cleaning pod and close it with the lid until the next use?
I like this video! Very informative. I rinse the stubble out first, shake off excess water, then do the cleaning. Then I place the shaver on the charging stand. I also put the pod cartridge cover over the quick clean pod to reduce evaporation since I only do a clean once a week. Is this necessary? Will the liquid evaporate if I don't store the razor on the pod or don't put the pod cartridge cover over the cleaning pod?
@@seanogorman3617 I changed an earlier answer that I got wrong, You CAN leave it in its pod. Once you put the shaver in the pod the shaver itself churns the cleaning fluid. After about a minute it shuts itself off and the liquid returns to the pod with the shaver above the fluid.
Thank you for that. Please, can you tell me, when you say rinse with warm water or brush out before deep pod cleaning, is that with the cutter guard open or closed? Does it go into self cleaning mode automatically once inverted? Does the cartridge have a locating slot or do you just eyeball it? Would you recommend a cleaning cycle, or part thereof, before first use to remove any possible debris, chemicals or organisms and to pre lube the heads? Thank you once again.
After its been cleaned, can you leave it in the cleaning station, or do you have to pick it out afterwards? I wouldn't want this if i have to wait for the cleaning to complete and then pick it out :)
@@voiceofreason9238 nope, wrong.. I've had this shaver now for a month. Its dries perfectly fine being in the cleaner. Also the cleaner liquid drips back into the cleaner from the shaver, so that will make the liquid last longer. It dries perfectly since it had no direct contact with the liquid. So please stop nwvroing this old thread lol
I have the cleaner case, and there's a tiny window at the top. I have no idea what it's for. I would imagine it would be to tell you how much cleaning solution is left in the case but I can't see the solution inside. In fact, I had run out of solution and there was no indication except the shaver remained dirty. I guess it's easier to just unscrew the top and look that way. Thanks for the video.
According to the manual (yes, I am a man and still read the manual😁), the window is supposed to show an "empty" icon in black on a white background when it is low.
I always rinse the head with water before doing a full clean. My cleaning system is much different then this one. The one I have takes about 4 hours to clean and dry 🤔
Yes the shaver and cleaning pod comes with your first container of cleaning fluid. If you shave once per month then replace the entire container with a new one every three months. It's disposable quick and easy.
hey, i have a series 9000 shaver but when i put it into the pod as you have shown, no liquid comes up and the shaver just sits there. what am i doing wrong? please advise
It can be selected how it works via the menu on the shaver. It can be set to three different modes: 1) Full feedback (pressure too low-blue, pressure correct-green, pressure too high-orange) 2) Part feedback (only pressure too high-orange) 3) No feedback (no light) Edit: I only know how the 9000 series 9987/59 works, which may be different from other models. Edit 2: I can actually only turn it fully on or fully off on my shaver, while the manual says 3 modes. Edit 3 (😂) You can select any of the three modes in the GroomTribe App
If you knew what kind of cleaner to use then it would be easy to just throw the old solution down the drain and replace it in the same container. Norelco wants you to buy a $15 complete replacement container with fresh cleaning solution.
Hmm I think Brauns solution is better, been using that for a few years now. But the benefit of this one is it has no moving parts or electric pumps etc.
But...? Good video! But what do I do when I am going away for 6 month tomorrow... Am I supposed to just leave the liquid in there...? Will it stay inside even on a flightrip?
No it will not stay inside. It leaks if you just tilt the thing. You will need to purchase new pods, and don't open them unit you arive. If you are leaving for 6 months, unless you only use the clean cycle once a week, you will need to bring more then 1 pod.
I don't want my facial hairs being in the mixture that cleans the dishes. It's unsanitary. The dishwasher fills with clean water when you start the Clean cycle and then the entire mixture is recycled for the next hour to clean the dishes. There are two filters in the dishwasher but they are designed to trap food, not hair. Yuck.
I wanted to buy a refill for the cleaner today. Sales man was told me that Philips does not deliver to Hungary. Unfortunately, Hungary is allways a stepchild of the West in everything.
Incredibly late. But for anyone watching this is official Philips instructions. If shaver used weekly, replace every 3 months. If used daily, replace every month. I personally remove all the hair without using water just open the head turn it upside down and let the hair go down by itself. Edit: Use the brush included to remove the hair, or use something similar if you don't have one. Just make sure it's soft.
There isn't any on my pod. edit: Or do you mean the driveshaft that goes into the center of the razor? If so, that is for driving the pump so the liquid flush the head fully.
I am more curious than you perhaps, so I googled your model quickly. It doesn't seem to have the hole for the driving pin in the pod that makes the fluid pump around. It also doesn't mention Cleaning Pod in the product description on Philip's website. So probably not.

think on the app it shows you rinse the excess off first before using the pod cleaner
Is it possible to only use water? Instead of their cleaning liquid?
You can wash it with water, but this liquid helps lubricate the device blades.
Are you supposed to rinse the shaver with water to get rid of the hair before putting it in the cleaning station?
No you don’t, I have never rinsed mine before. The razor does a great job

Would it be recommended to leave the shaver in the pod as a storage station when not using? Or best to take it out and store separately?
REDACTED - You can store the shaver separately. Also it fits neatly upright into a toilet paper roll or just lay it on its side.
