The Habs have been busy on the transaction market once again, adding a pair of players this afternoon.
First up is Josh Nadeau, brother of Hurricanes draft pick Bradley Nadeau. Josh joins the Montreal Canadiens for their upcoming development camp after the NHL Draft and looks like a potential steal of an add for the Laval Rocket next year. After putting up over 2 points per game in the BCHL and point per game in the NCAA, can Nadeau surprise in camp?
Up next is an actual full contract signing, and one that appeared out of nowhere with Connor Hughes joining on a one-year, two-way contract. Hughes comes over from the Swiss National League where he reigned as one of the best netminders in the league. So the question is, where does he fit in the goalie spectrum in Montreal?
Finally, the hosts debate over whether or not Kent Hughes HAS to make a big off-season splash move, or if simply letting the team get healthy will fit the bill as well.

hello everyone .i have been following connor hughes since he came to switzerland in 2017 i am a goalie myself in switzerland but not professional .connor first played in the 2nd highest league then in the highest league in switzerland and i am impressed by how good he is he has gotten better every year .this season he was even the best goalie in the league although less games than others but still highly respected. montreal fans you can really be happy about a great goalie .i think he can't pass montebault but he will surely be the back up .i was very happy for him when i read about the trade yesterday .i keep my fingers crossed for connor that he will get his chance .i hope switzerland has another nhl goalie .best regards from switzerland

What does this team need? The defense has to let in 40 less goals from 23/24, that is 281 goals to 241 goals. We need to play hybrid man on man /zone defense. We need a defense coach better than the existing guy. The PP must improve from 17.5% to about 22%. ..... IMO we need a Necas to improve our PP + a (D coach) so that our PK improves from 76.5% to about 82% .

Given the current roster, do you think we can have success by adding additional small players in our top 9? Habs need complimentary pieces to allow the existing small players to have success. NHL is not changing that drastically that small teams can have success. Need to be able to win puck battles and be strong along the boards and in the corners. All things being equal size and strength will win out. Habs on average are small in their top 9 and are not extremely fast. Don’t think Hab fans are opposed to giving small players a chance but they need to show that they can be effective in all areas of the ice against the better teams in the NHL. Hence the preference to add players with size and skill.

I hate the Leafs but there us really one player that I really like and thst is Matthew Knies. I would totally overpay to acquire Knies and that could even mean taking a bad contract on top of giving a good asset I'm up for it.. I think he has great potential and seems to be made for the playoffs. Put him on the second line with Dach and draft Senneke/ Demidov/ Lindstrom/ Catton it almost doesn't matter any of thise will work well.

Big tough players .. usually win out in the playoffs .!! You CAN be a smaller BULLDOG ..but this league wears players down ...a.l.a. GALLAGHER ..big bodies usually survive the 82 game sched. ..and then ...the tough playoff run ..!! Go BIG..or Go Home !!

What is your definition of a small guy? ........... How many small guys should the Habs maintain as forwards? How many small guys should the Habs maintain as defensemen on a 23 man roster?
