I hope non-Bisaya speaking groups like the Tagalogs realize that some Bisayas going to, example Manila, either for work or studies, still experience discrimination even until now for the reason that, in the past, Bisayas go to Luzon to be househelpers, and sadly, this remained the stereotype. Ngayon marami ng professionals na-lumuluwas but as what Melai has shared, ni-llooked down pa rin at pinagtatawanan ang accent. THIS HAS TO STOP. I know many Bisayas have their own uncomfortable stories. Thank you to ABS-CBN in making a historical Bisaya show like this, and hopefully other regional *languages will follow, like Bicolano, Waray, Hilagaynon, Ilocano, Chavacano, etc. If you're a Tagalog reading this, alam ko naman hindi lahat nag ddiscriminate, but please be respectful and treat others equally with kindness and patience, esp kung may nagtanong sayo in Tagalog but with a heavy accent. We are after all, one nation, one race, one country. Let's appreciate our cultural diversity.
The best decision made by ABS-CBN is for Melai to have her own podcast and speaking on her native tongue. Para na rin itong way for non-Bisaya to learn the language. Congrats, Melai to your new show!

Hindi lang siguro kaya ni Kim ma express yung gusto nyang sabihin in English kaya lagi syang napagkakalaman na hindi matalino. Pero napaka-talino niya kapag kakausapin mo sya ng Bisaya. Manonotice mo din yan sa mga games sa Showtime isa siya sa laging nananalo kasi matalino naman sya. Hindi naman lahat ng tao na magaling sa English eh matalino. Mas kaya nya talaga sa Bisaya which is hindi lahat din kayang mag Bisaya. She's an intelligent woman.

Kim Chiu's words of wisdom was based on her experience. It's believable bc we all witnessed how she grew up as a person at the same time as an artist. She is a goal keeper. She is an inspiration. She is an effective speaker if the topic is about "How you reach your dreams". She is a hard worker, but at the same time she enjoys what she's doing. Her mental health is stable. Her faith is strong. She is impeccable woman.
I'm a Tagalog and this conversation is very new to me wala kasi ako kilala tlga na Bisaya or kng meron man pag Tagalog ko lang din sla kausap. Now I realize how good the conversation flow is. Agree, nitong nakaraang buwan, bumalik yung appreciation ko kila TJ Monterde at KZ Tandingan kasi panay lumabas sila sa fyp ko sa tiktok dahil sa recent concert ni TJ. Even if I was born and bred in Manila, with both parents born and bred in Cebu who talk to us daily in Cebuano, and with legions of parientes in Cebu and other parts of Visayas and Mindanao, I have always branded myself as a Cebuana. I am happy to be able to speak and fully understand Kim and Melai, no matter how fast they talk. They remind me of my relatives in Cebu, the loud voices, talking on top of each other, down-to-earth banter, the sarcastic humor and the isog personality. "Ayaw ug hilak-hilak diha, fight gyud". Mga kalahi ni Lapu-lapu...more power to you Kim and Melai. Grabeha kalingaw ang inyong katabian...makalefong sa uban kay paspas mo mosulti. You are both accomplished. Bisdaks are very proud of you. Bisaya is a language po. Example of language vs dialect: English is a language. American english is one of its dialects. British english is another dialect of english. The same with Tagalog, it has lots of dialects coming from different regions in luzon. There's over a hundred languages in the Philippines and Tagalog and Bisaya are only 2 categories of Filipno languages.

I was born in Leyte but moved to Manila in high school and am now living in Canada. I could still fully understand the language and could relate to everything that was said. Maybe things have changed nowadays, but I still remember my first day and months in Manila. Everything was new to me, and I struggled to learn to speak Tagalog. People would look down on me, but I worked hard and did well in school, always excelling in many things. Now, I am living in Canada and have traveled to 38 countries and speak five languages. From a small town in Leyte to the world. Have a big dream, work hard for it, have faith in yourself and your capacity, be grateful, and stay grounded

There's over a hundred languages in the Philippines and Tagalog and Bisaya are only 2 categories of Filipno languages.

I was born in Leyte but moved to Manila in high school and am now living in Canada. I could still fully understand the language and could relate to everything that was said. Maybe things have changed nowadays, but I still remember my first day and months in Manila. Everything was new to me, and I struggled to learn to speak Tagalog. People would look down on me, but I worked hard and did well in school, always excelling in many things. Now, I am living in Canada and have traveled to 38 countries and speak five languages. From a small town in Leyte to the world. Have a big dream, work hard for it, have faith in yourself and your capacity, be grateful, and stay grounded

I can relate to Kim Chiu's mindset because I can see that she's not stressed by her past nor her future but instead she focuses on what's happening in the present. Mao gihapon akong mindset na kung unsa man ang mahatabo sa present i-accept rajud para maka move forward kay unsaon man ang nahanabo na di naman nato mabago. Always adored Kim Chiu for her fun, out-going and hardworking personality. But thanks to this show, napakita diri na naa pud gyud syay depth. She looks like nag lingaw lingaw lang sya, but experience has made her wise and strong. And you can really see her good character and professionalism, because she’s still at the height of her career, 18 years and still going far. Congrats to her and Melai!
