I agree. Amazing jazz chord substitutions. And plenty of space for Gino to craft the vocal delivery. Then there's the samba feel that jumps out. Simply beautiful.

Having gone to the record store on the Tuesday it was released in 1998 to buy the CD and having listened to it many, many times since then, I feel completely ripped off on not having heard this until today. This would have been the perfect track to end the CD. But thank you for posting it!

Never could...my parents either, but mom finally, after years of entertaining, sat down and learned.lol. My favorite song describes me to a tee.

This is an interesting arrangement, but I find that I miss the strong bass line movement (cycles through more than half the circle of fifths) during the chorus.
Nice jazzy version, but a bit subdued compared to the powerful synth laced original IMHO. Although the opinion of one is subjective to those who feel different. Extra spices doesn't always make the food taste better.

This song was written by Gino Vannelli himself. You can find the original 1981 version on Gino's album, Nightwalker. Love this version as well.
