As he felt the blood begin to leech into his armour, his let out a grunt of pain. A armoured arm held tight to the glowing prong burried deep in his belly. The solder blinked, the snowman didn't move. Beneath his helmet the soldier face scruncged in pain only to be replaced by shock and horror. The snowman, had stabbed him. The snowman, had an arm and stabbed him. An aftershock of pain rippled through his body as he felt his insides against the foreign blade of light. The solder didn't understand. How had a snowman done this? Was he going to die? His rifle was still pointed at the snowmans head. The snowman held its blank expression. The soldier balked as the pain grew. He didn't understand. The soldierr didn't understand why he was going to die. His vision blurred as his blood leeched onto the snowman's weapon. He didn't understand, but he wanted to know why. A reason? An explanation? A goodbye? Anything would do. With a labored gasp of his sliced lung he expelled his last breath of air, " But, why snowman?". The snowman sat still. And the soldier's vision gave out. The last thing he ever saw was that damn thing that betrayed him, that blasted creation of coal, carrots, and snow.
"I cannot believe that worked." "Uh, you're welcome." "How did you do that?" "I used the same trick to hide from Sarge all the time back at Blood Gulch." "You constructed, and then hid inside of... a snowman, in the middle of a hot canyon?" "Hey Sarge, I found him!" "It wasn't always a perfect plan."
My favorite trivia about this clip is revealed during the DVD audio commentary where they mention the animators did too good a job animating the snowmen, making them actually blend in with Halo 4 and the environment they’re in, and that they actually wanted something that looked kinda cheap and crappy like early RvB effects. So they revised the snowmen into the versions we see here. Personally, I think it was a good call. They’re hilarious like this
