I was reading the comments while i was listening, even though it's been 2 yrs since you posted this, i really appreciate your feedback and responding to everyone's comments, and for just being raw with the process. Although, i am still debating if i should go through this program b/c i still have big dreams i wish to pursue. Soo soo many 😩
i've been in my house 3 years now. Actually 3.5 years I don't remember all the time references but once you're approved they'll let you know when you can get your hours started where and how... Congrats and Good Luck..
Hello, this will be totally up to you based on when you can put in your hours. Me I work for the public school system so I went through a summer and worked everyday I could (I didn't work that summer) most folk didn't have that luxury. But I did, so I was one of the first to finish my hours... I don't recall exactly how long it took me but again that will vary based on when you can and when you are allowed too. (on the build site) plus at the restore..
See the way ours work in Louisville you can choose but within there limits so they give you a few choices! But my only thing is they only build 1 bathroom for a 3bedroom I don’t know if I can settle for that 😫
I am interested in this program, but I would like to understand how this program works. What happen if after few years I want to sell the house, for any reason. Can I do that? Can my children inherit the house even though it is not completely paid? Or what happen if the house is completely paid but my children don't want to live in that house. Can they sell the house in the market without any restriction? Thanks for your time.
Hello, you will need to attend an informational to have your questions answered. I'm a homebuyer. Through HFH.. to get the best answers for your in debt questions its best to contact the Habitat for Humanity in your area. However I do know you can sell, your house and (possibly) profit after some years. I would assume once the house is completely paid for, You Can do as you please with it. Habitat is a program but you still go through every process as with home buying through your bank or whatever the avenue. You just invest a bit more with Habitat. I hope I helped a little bit within my response here.. Thank you.
Hi initially I paid direct to Habitat. They are the lender And still are. Now I pay to Affiliate they service the loan for Habitat. habitat is till the Mortgage holder.. (I hope that makes sense)..
It's OK, if you stick with it, they'll help you get there. There was a lady in my cohort who had to fix her credit veggie she was eligible. It's work. But you can do it
No equity either if you sell it anytime before 30 years- Woohoo? They sold it to you at "market price" and they will buy it from you at "their market price". They call it "Equity Share Agreement" The HOA fees they are tacking on them nowadays is almost as high as the monthly mtge payments. Woohoo?
@@LeoMoralesSr no darling we only have to wait 11yrs to be Fully invested . Any time before that you split a certain amount with habitat the amount will be determined by how long you’ve been there! Trust I’ve not been “sold” anything. But do you, I’m just sharing for those who wants the info, not those who don’t or those who are just negative and want to be life long renters. Everything is not for every one.. to each their own, and best wishes to all. I also do not pay HOA! Sweety just know that rules, & some processes are different depending on the state you live in. But for real speak real truths & not lies or assumptions.
For home owners insurance, you'll shop around b/c it will vary depending on who you decide to go with. No I don't pay a lot for home owners insurance. my taxes are in Escrow (which means it's all included in my mortgage).. Taxes will also vary depending on home location and the norm for that area and are subject to change ....

am pembe how long did your application take before they accepted you in the program?
Does your debt to income ratio play a big role in the acceptance? I'm currently applying so if you have any application tips please share
Congratulations by the way 💖
Thanks for the information! I just applied but still have many questions.
If I can answer any questions for you (based on My experience) I'm happy to do so.

Thank you for your video. I’m confused on how the mortgage works. Do you go through a separate lender or do Habitat finance it (pay directly to them)?

@@tru1tru yes and thank you for your response.
I applied and I have to fix my credit. That’s the hardest part for me so far.
