Omg Ken my neighbor had a 250 MX back in 82 and I will never forget that monster!! I was 11 when I was riding that bike and it was scary fast back then. Man what I wouldn't do to go back to those days every weekend 50 bikes and atvs climbing and riding tracks in the quarry down street and no one ever bothered us. Priceless memories and my first bike XR75
@1979augistine lol I remember a groundhog running in front of me on a trail I was wide open that was my first crash. It hurt and scared me but I already loved to ride so I was right back on
An absolute friggin' diamond! I like this bike. Over the decades, I've owned Bombardier ( Ski-doo) snowsleds with either single or twin 2-stroke Rotax engines. I've never had the pleasure of experiencing their motorcycles. Very cool bike!
They were a little heavy and didn’t quite have the suspension the big 4 had but motor wise they were superior in the power department, I had a 79’ just like this one.
When I was about 14 I had a bike magazine in the U.K. that I used to keep and look at all the time as I wanted a bike so bad, and one of the articles was titled "Can-Am’s quick 250 qualifier". Still remember the title over 40 years later.
I saved up for two years and bought that identical bike brand new. That 250 Rotax powerband hit so hard it would pull on the big bore bikes of the day. In the tight New England woods nothing else stood a chance.
Very cool. The short list of bikes I never got around too... Can Am, Montesa, Hodaka.... . Jim Ellis raced Can Am, did he not? Is it premix or oil injection?
Putting your tongue on the pipe you crack me up what a beautiful machine it looks brand new vintage Can-Am sounds absolutely awesome nitrogen gas shocks that's amazing I love how it sits with the kickstand that bike does have a lot of features Great video ken Great video in Ronnie New England motorcycle museum number one
Sticking your tongue on the pipe, like Christmas Story! 😂😂😂😂....Gorgeous bike. All of those 2 strokes with the rotax bombardier engines seem to truly haul ass. Beautiful!
A very unique special bike i would like to see the factory where these were made was canada it is very reliable and both the qualifier and bombadiers both smell beautifull kreation and its dirtbikes that brought people together in one place
I love the old air cooled Rotax 2 strokes. Pretty darn solid.

We rode my buddy's Can Am a few times, very powerful, ahead of it's time.
