The director said that the story was inspired by a play called 6 Characters in Search of an Author, which is an absurdist play. Absurdism is all about things not making sense, or having meaning. It's all about getting the audience to question things and find their own meaning. So it makes sense that this is a pretty random plot haha. Absurdism is very interesting though!! I suggest looking into it ! :)
