  • "I appreciate this fight...I understand how difficult it is to get through this fight...every moment of the 3 minutes is panic...it's so difficult...it's motivational inspirational...this is never going to be a one-sided fight," stated former world champion and commentator Paulie Malignaggi, who gave a deep, detailed analysis of Andre Ward's victory over Sergey Kovalev. Check it out!

      Mike D - Who believes this? Ignorant, unethical, biased people who are easily manipulated. That's why the boxing establishment has their spin doctors out in full force. People think guys like Paulie and even Teddy Atlas are straight up. Wrong. They'll go along with just about anything to keep their jobs. Paulie knows who really won that fight, and he knows it wasn't Ward. Paulie was put on Sky sports to spin the fight to the English fans, while you had Kellerman on HBO doing the same thing here. Total fix.

I've never seen two fights back to back, that were so fucking fixed.. He insults everyone's intelligence by saying "we don't know boxing". Absolutely yo whoever understands boxing knows that Paulie is a boxing genius,he gets it very very much so. Naziim Richardson said it years ago he said "Paulie couldn't knock a glass of water off the table with a running start." He came back to say "no no that was a compliment I meant no disrespect to Paulie,how does a man with practically no KO power hold two world titles?" "Yo he has to be a helluva fighter,a smart calculating tough fighter." I agree with Naziim and this genius allowed Paulie to win two world titles, his vision...I respect Paulie,Teddy,Roy and Naziim's boxing advice knowledge and acumen as trainer and fighters....

    Imagine right now, the identity of the fighters are switched up. The exact same fight took place but now you see Ward knocking down Kovalev, Kovalev trying to survive and throwing potshots, clinched and ran from Ward and having close last few rounds. Who would you give the fight to or let's say the close rounds? No one in the fucking right mind would say Kovalev. Exactly! Clearly, Ward won because of his reputation. He just had to do what he normally does which is clinching, wrestling and he wins. I dare anyone to disagree with me on this.

    • @kingkawayne

    • @benjaminho8985
      @benjaminho8985 7 років тому +4

    • @kingkawayne
      @kingkawayne 7 років тому +7

      jqwormy worm If Kovalev battled back from a knockdown and made the fight very competitive, like Ward did, I wouldn't have a problem with him getting the decision. I was prepared to give Kovalev full credit, if he won the fight. It was very close, but I had Ward winning by a small margin.

    • @benjaminho8985
      @benjaminho8985 7 років тому +3

      Kovalev was expected to dominate same like how GGG was expected to KO anyone and not take hits. If someone buzzes them or if Kovalev did not dominate the round, they lose it. That was why GGG was down 3 rounds to 1 in Brook fight when clearly Brook was trying to survive and managed to get a few shots here and there. Same for Andre Ward. If Ward is able to do his clinching, nullifying, wrestling, fighting dirty like he always does, he wins. To me, that is nonsense. That is literally putting a handicap on the opponent. You yourself, being a Ward fan has sunk to a level where you will give rounds to Ward if he manages to wrestle, clinch and make the fight dirty even on a day where his offense is way below par. People are literally giving Ward rounds just because he survived against a monster who didn't knock him out. I don't hate on anyone, in fact, when I watched the Mayweather vs Pacquaio fight, Mayweather fought like a boss. At no point was he afraid, and the things he did were purposeful. I'm sorry, but for Ward, all I saw was someone who managed to survive and was afraid.

      You make a really good valid point. The judges where bias we cannot argue that patriotism on the american side did not play a role! 14/13 on a score cards, was fishy as hell! Kovalev won and the majority of boxing experts know this.
      Even HBO commentators had knew this!

    Paulie broke it down properly. Kovalev couldn't land cleanly after the 2nd round knockdown and couldn't finish off Ward in that round, that was his downfall, he was never gonna win a points victory against Ward...

      @joesendao474 7 років тому

      EzeYKio looks like you are the casual, you are describing Olympic boxing. In the professional ranks a judge can award the win to the boxer with less but much harder punches! In this case Kovalev landed the harder and overall more punches than Ward!
      Looks like Kovalev should have been awarded the fight!

    • @snarlesbarkley2818
      @snarlesbarkley2818 7 років тому +5

      JOE Sendao you sound like a casual because punches landed don't always correlate to a win. You can out land an opponent 45-10 3 rounds but get out landed 25-15 in 9 rounds and still lose the fight even though you landed more punches. Boxing is scored by round so if you have 1 great round, win 3 or 4 other rounds, and lose 7 or 8 you still lose.

It was nearly as exciting listening to him breakdown this Kovalev vs Ward fight as it was watching the fight L0L......His explaination of how important the mental side of a fight is was superb, especially a fight as mentally and physically demanding as this one......WELL DONE PAULIE!

    One round doesnt win the fight. Outside of the 2nd round Kovalev did not have anything impressive in the fight. Also I have Kovalev rnds 1,2,4, and 10 he could have maybe one other rnd so even with a 10-8 round he was loosing on points. Lastly if you watched the same fight I did Kovalev did most of the grabbing because he is not a inside fighter(see the body work of Ward) Kovalev grabbed pushed and wrestled to the ropes because he needs room to use his power. Great fight I can see how some could have gave the fight to Kovalev but not by more than a rnd.

    Paulie hit the nail on the head. Far as the rematch. If Kova abandons the boxing to mow Ward down with his devastating power, Ward can use that to counter and exploit kovas enthusiasm.
    If Kova slightly tweaks his original game plan to let Ward get inside, throw then counter him. He can win the bout by way of KO. Kova clinched at times when are was coming in, he could've let Ward throw then countered. We will see.

    I have no problem with people saying this was a close a fight, but people who say Ward *dominated* the second half of the fight are delusional, you really have to try hard to give Ward 7 rounds of that fight and i think that was what the judges were doing because of the way he got up and fought on after the knockdown.

    • @afkmike8725

    Ward might have eaked out 5 rounds in that fight, but the last 8 straight? thats either corrupt or inept, every publication, the vast majority of the crowd at hand, the broadcast teams, and the majority of the fans didnt see Ward winning any of the first 4 rounds, or the last 8 straight, there was a knock down counted against him on top of that, Kovalev let him back in the fight, but with the lead he had in the beginning, all he had to do was win a couple of rounds late and hes the won who eeks out his title, even the majority of media at hand had similar score cards, with Kovalev ahead, Kovalev dropped the ball, he gassed somehwhere around the 7th, but that was a bad decision and as for Ward being the "pound for pound" best in the world, I think Malignaggi needs to get his head examined from all the beatings he took in his career. I think Guys like Cholatito, who accomplished what Alexis Arguello couldnt do, in his last fight and whose nearly 49-0 and Golovkin, whos who holds second most title defenses of all time and most consecutive knock outs as middleweight champion, all time, are much more deserving of that hypothetical moniker, than a guy whos sat out the majority of his career and then was gifted a one point win that the vast majority of the people believe he didnt deserve.. much credit to Ward, the heart and the will of a champion, he got up, and he fought on, it was a vallient effort but a long way from the best fighter in the world by far , maybe hes gotta fight Kovalev again, beat him more convincingly and perhaps then, he can be considered at least as the lightheavyweight champion, let alone anything else.. also what happened to Adonis Stevenson, hes not the lineal champion anymore, or do they just not wanna have a conversation about em..dude is still out there knocking people spark out

      One thing, I though Kovalev was more effective in the 12th. round! To give Ward the last 6 rounds was kind of a stretch to me! A couple of the last rounds were even to say the least for Kovalev! Also, the aggressive fighter tends to make mistakes, though Kovalev seemed to respect Ward too much....the Ward mystique in action! Just like the Mayweather mystique, it exists for some fighters, now being shown with Ward! Not great as he thinks he is, but a mentally strong Technical master! P4P No, as Kovalev didn't show what he was capable of doing! Too much respect, though some is required, but his abilities (Kovalev's) should give him the confidence that should over-shadow the Ward mystique! Ward showed more mental strength than Kovalev!

    • @tareqalmashini3872
      @tareqalmashini3872 7 років тому +1

      One judge or i believe two of them gave Ward the last 8 round straight, thats absurd, to say that Kovalev didnt win not one of those rounds is delusional, and I dont think theres any voodoo with these guys getting decisions, Mayweather and Ward, its called corruption, its the J Prince, Roc Nation mystique, and honestly, in Ward, I didnt see a technical master, Kovalev was out technicalling him, what I did see though, was the champion gas, and allow his brave challenger get back into, gain confidence and get over on him to make it a close call.. Ward has guts, thats for sure, pound for pound, not by a long shot.. its too bad we'll never see him and Golovkin, i dont think Golovkin would gas
