  • My review, and walk through, of using the Pico Pro by PicoBrew to brew a beer with one of their prepackaged PicoPaks. The PicoPak I chose for this video was 'Heroes Never Die' by Beer Army Foundation; a pale ale. I also designed my own Freestyle PicoPak and plan to do a follow up video with that as well as using this device for sous vide cooking.
Check out the follow up sous vide video on it here: • Sous Vide Strip Steak ...

Thanks Larry! Great video and after this review I see this as a good option for someone who lives in a big city and or small apartment and wants to try to brew their own beer but doesn’t have the space for the equipment needed.

I think like others have said its for a specific homebrewer. possibly some one with limited space. I still like watching the boil, and smelling the beer as it boils. And using the regular brewing system gets me out in the garage for the day lol.

Seems like a cool system and a great machine for sure! I think you hit the nail right on the head regarding the target market. It's pretty expensive for someone who's trying brewing for the first time and if you're an advanced brewer you already have everything you need to make your own great beers. A great video profile though, kudos. Cheers!

Thanks for keeping the review honest! I am/was contemplating picking one of these up for the ease-of-use aspect of it (if lifes too busy for stretches of time, you can always just pop a pack in and not invest too much time in it). Looking forward to your review of the sous vide aspect! Also, will you be doing another video of your "free style" pack? Would be interesting to hear how those turn out compared to a "marketplace" recipe. Cheers!

I think the picobrew is for people who want to brew but don't like to brew.

It's a Keurig brew system for beer. You are correct on this being a first time brewer and for us home brewers this is not best for us.

I liked most the way you pronounced saf-alé similar to fragilé on the box with the leg lamp from Christmas Story. Thanks again for your channel. Let's see you do a venison backstrap in the pico. Mike.

Nice review. Just a couple of quick things to share. I own one of these that I got during the Kickstarter campaign for the Pico C (the new less expensive version) for $299 plus some free stuff. There was an opportunity to upgrade to the S version (shown In this video) for $100, and I did it. I’ve homebrewed for a few years and had a kegerator setup so for me the S made more sense. I could use all my current keg equipment too.

Very interested in knowing how to find one of those disconnect "wands" you used to keep the disconnect open for sanitization! I usually use my finger which smarts good!

Hi Larry. I just learned you can update your software for manual brew. Seems like good news for owners who just let it collect dust. Sounds perfect for test batches. No need for RFID ... just grain and hop bags needed. Just plug in your model and turn it on for auto update.

Does anyone know the costs of each 2.5 gallon brew taking into consideration the hops/distilled water/yeast etc. Thanks

Hi Larry. Off-topic question: What are the components of your oxygenation system? I've seen some off the shelf (In Canada) but they are upwards of $200. I'm hoping to build one much cheaper. Love your vids!

So I bought this beer to brew in my Pico Brew C. Was I supposed to add the dry hops before stopping the fermentation process?
