- Gunlock Falls rush into Santa Clara River as Reservoir reaches full capacity
SANTA CLARA, Utah (3/15/2023) -It’s been about 13 years since residents in Santa Clara have had to deal with any major flooding. Heavy rains and snowmelt are contributing to the overflow of Gunlock Reservoir which is now rushing over the falls and into the Santa Clara River. Area officials are monitoring the floodwaters as they head downstream, while locals headed to Gunlock Falls to see the power of the water.
Warning : As of late Wednesday afternoon, Gunlock Road was closed from Hwy 91 to Gunlock Reservoir because of flooding.
Community Education is a fantastic, if not genuinely genius, concept. I don't even live in the area, and I have a clearer sense of what is being done, why, and what I can do to stay safe. Awesome work. I want one where I live.
A DNR official that has educated himself, very impressive and informative, thank you sir.
Beautifully, interesting! Thank U...[& say "Hello" to Bill....]😉😊
S. West corner of Utah. Beautiful!
Would be nice to have a map
Beautiful places in Utah, Veyo, and Ivins area.
Those USGS hydotechs measuring that flow are freaking awesome!
I don't want to hear nothing about a drought for a long long time!!!!
Take a remedial English class.
they already are throwing the water into the ocean to save some obscure tiny fish lol
It’s gotta go underground still and if the groundwater is filled we’re still going to need water
Anything....you don’t want to hear anything....nobody can “hear nothing” that’s just not possible, unless you’re in space.
@Homer Holler Better then most Americans..
Great to see the reservoir full after being half empty for a LONG time....
What does he do?
Would love to kayak this
Used to live in St. G from 1977 to 1982 really something.
Why is there a giant birds head turned to stone sticking out of the waterfall in the opening scene?
The key is not to buy anything in low-lying areas stupid is as stupid does. Get it. I sure as hell don't want to pay for stupid choices.
This is so exciting! I got some pretty amazing drone footage!
Right on!
Drought is ground water not surface water
Spectacular!
It's all going in the ocean
That is what rivers do yes.
Lol don't water your lawn
What do you mean? Are you one of those crazy conspiracy people? You know this only one year of rain? I hope your parents gave you more sense than that. Read a book and pray for forgiveness.
@@TheLottolandus the reservoirs are flooded and you think we're short on water? Who's the conspiracy theorist? 😂
@@TheLottolandus people are being incentivized to pull out their lawn while there is invasive grass growing on almost every single landscape in southern Utah.
Drive down Snow canyon parkway. There's grass growing underneath °desert plants°
@@unmaskscience111 Short sighted. One good year and everything is good. Conservation and planning is what is required. But you seem to be the type of person that ignores history and only focuses on the present. And you sir/mam are why history is doomed to repeat itself. Unless you are just trolling me!
@@unmaskscience111 Ground water is not aquifer water. I would once again say read a book or look it up on the internet.
get your Kayaks ready
Scary driving on the right.N.Z you drive on the left which is commonsense in my view.
There got to be away to pump some of this water back in the ground water to fill back up
Drought is over. Lower the price of water now
But that would take away revenue. They will find a reason to keep the extra fees.
