How to turn a London bus into a mobile library | Our Story

A moving record of how Tom Maschler's crazy idea, Quentin Blake's wonderful drawings and an adventure traveller David Gordon with a team of dedicated volunteers put the first Book Bus into Africa in 2008.
The first Book Bus named Tiger was transported to Livingstone, Zambia since then his been joined by Book buses named Charlie, George and Sophie. Our buses bring the join of reading to children in various commuinties of Mfuwe, Kitwe, Kalulushi, Kapiri mposhi, Chibombo, Chilanga, and Livingstone.
We encourage parents, guardians , teachers and youth to support children with their reading.
