If Sony will release a anti flickering option with a new firmware update this camera will never die… unfortunately nowadays led light are everywhere and sometimes this becomes a huge problem for professionals. Last wedding season was a nightmare for a9, the a7iii saved so many situations. So please Sony give us a9 owners anti flickering opinion!

@@CharlieVN Thanks for reply , ad a Leica Q before that I sold and trying to find a replacement for street as been difficult.The Q was fantastic LOL but now with the pandemic 28mm is a bit to wide so a solid body with a 35mm or a 50mm will make more sense . The A9 is the same price as the A7R3 , A73 here (2000/2500$ )
A9ii has faster networking abilities, better ergonomics, grip/buttons. I would not pay 3K for the camera myself, it's being discontinued, and will only be available used in the near future. Vendors are getting rid of inventory. if you want to have a taste of sony's finest focus, definitely give it a try, it's amazing.
Other canon lenses, not that one specifically. You’ll get 10 FPS tracking, might as well get the sigma 100-400(native version, not EF) at that point, will get you 15fps tracking. You can definitely hear and feel the difference of 5 extra FPS. Same can be said about 15 going to 20 if you’ve got the luxury. The A9 does well with adapted telephoto, lesser models will struggle.
@@CharlieVN I already own the 100-400 II along with other Canon lenses and bodies but like the look of the A9 - Unless I sell some Canon stuff I cannot stretch to the Sony 200-600 for now but it won't take me long to save up. Thanks for the quick reply.
you won’t get the highest resolution, but boy does that camera move fast, with a super keeper rate. I think I paid 2000 in 2018? it’s a whole lot of camera for the money. I’m saving for the A1…. as soon as folks start dumping for the mkii in a few years…. I can’t really afford it at its current price. hopefully late 2023…..

While sensor is still quite good, I am really hating how slow is it in overall and how much misses I get from af. I would like to upgrade, but i am not a professional. I shoot 90% photo and 10% Video. I have already got a bunch of good lenses and I don't want to change system. I mind only details, iso and autofocus Performance. But, I want just to shoot and be happy with the output. So, I live in Austria, and people here sell a7r iii around 1500-2000 and a9 is also around this money. A7 IV is 2899 eur now. Should I save a bit more for a7 IV or a9 still might be a great choice? I am really struggling with the af on a7 II. At a9 I dislike lack of video profiles, type c, and some new things a7 IV has. At a7r iii I am unsure in af. What should I do? I usually shoot trips, family, portraits, car events, so, all around. Thank you!
Sony's policy is a failure. Sony A9, i.e. a camera that is designed for shooting in sports halls where sodium or diode lamps are often used, does not have the Anti flicker function. Sony gave this feature to the A7 III and not a camera that costs £ 3,000 and is designed for sports photography. Sony A9 II got this feature only in the update, which is a scandal for me. I just have a photo behind me using the A9 and all with cross stripes. Even the mechanical shutter doesn't help. So you have to take a SONY A7m3 which has an antiflicker function, but this function in both A73 and A9 II works only on the mechanical shutter, which in the A7m3 is very loud. And so, having two Sony cameras, we are either forced to sit at the computer and save poor quality photos or the inability to take such photos in a situation when silence is required. . I don't know how loud the shutter on the A9II is. I hope it is relatively quiet because it would partially save the situation. Let me remind you that the Canon 7Dm2 already had an antiflicker function and a relatively quiet mechanical shutter, the same as the Canon 5DmIV which also had a silent mechanical shutter. I believe that the lack of an update in the A9 that would add an antiflicker function is a scandal and treating customers like shearing sheep from the cash register. Boasting that this function has been added to the camera for over 20,000 is making people a horse. So what should I do? Sell the A9 to buy the A9 II only because it has an anti flicker function (which already has a camera that costs 1/3 the price of the A9 II) and a relatively quiet mechanical shutter. This is called customer care. Bravo SONY !!

Have you any experience of the A9 with an MC-11 and Canon's 100-400 II L lens, this is what I am thinking of buying for now - the A9 and MC-11.

Still worth it? Lol. It’s still one of the very fastest cameras and superb image quality. Of course it’s worth it. Ugh
