On the East Coast of the U.S. a 100 lb. mono bite leader and double-long shank 3/0 - 5/0 J-hook is often used with shad/bluefish bait.

With the planet changing everything is 4 months late, so the band season out by 2 months will make a killing on the big shad when it open again on 1/12/21.
