If there was no precendent in Bernard, Richard could well have been regarded as the best guitarist of the decade. He has to deal with the shadow of Bernie to this day, what a blessing to end up in Suede, what a curse to constantly be compared to his predecessor.
So so much awesome music in the mid 90's. I do miss this time too, but i'd be curious to know if Neil and the others do too because of the amount of drugs they were on back then
Brett looks horrifyingly thin, after all it was 1997 and some tough times for Brett. His poor voice is a little hoarse but this does not affect what an amazing beautiful concert this is. Love it.❤🧡💞Another after note - Europe was absolutely beautiful and pulled off by a total professional. Love you Brett.
"Horse" would be more describing word discussing his voice and the whole character at this point, if you get the pun. Very unfortunate, but it's good he's recovered now.
If you compare SUEDE with Beyoncé or Taylor Swift, then yes of course - SUEDE is real underrated and unknown band. But if you compare SUEDE for example with Inspiral Carpets or Echobelly, in that BRIT community ... SUEDE is scary huge !!!!!
I'm laughing now remembering someone's comment that this was Brett's "Super Hans phase" if you're familiar with Peep Show, he absolutely did *something* before walking out for She, he gets a bit more into the music itself as the show goes on
Pretty sure this was at the start of his years long battle with poor health. Started of with some virus/flu thing he didn't treat properly, gave him chronic fatigue syndrom and ended with him leaving the band in 2001. And rejoining in '16 I believe. Or it could be he was just pissed, because Brett was in his downward spiral of drug abuse. By 1998/99 Brett was a proper mess of coke, crack and smack use.
Rumours are that the band got through a kilo of the stuff Starting the day before the gig & then all the way through to going on stage..FACT!!🤧 ( I have a very good close friend who is actually one of their regular roadies )
Everyone is busting their asses to give a good concert, but this disinterested keyboarder is ruining everything. This is not an attitude, this is a refusal to work for many people who have paid real money.
The whole band is so freaking good here, the young guitarist shreds and the keyboard guy totally sells the show! Simply a stellar performance!

What a kick off into "So Young" after the last line of "By the Sea", wow 😲 possibly the most energetic version of "So Young" I've seen.

This tour was amazing
Richard’s guitar sound and playing are incredible.

@@palms159Yeah which is nonsense. Richard is by far the better musician of the 2.
I WAS THERE, it was just.... FANTASTIC!!!
Utterly wonderful performance, utterly wonderful band! Suede, you are the best!
Oakes is a freaking natural on the guitar

I love Brett...I love Suede : " Coming Up" is their best album a masterpiece.
Brett was so sharpened..
‘By The Sea’ shows another face of SUEDE.
My favorite one.
I usually listen Thash Metal such as slayer , Megadeth , Testament, Kreator etc... but Really Really Love Suede!

I do too
So so much awesome music in the mid 90's. I do miss this time too, but i'd be curious to know if Neil and the others do too because of the amount of drugs they were on back then

Neil shines with the piano in So Young!

Saturday Night 32:00
Oh, everything that makes you happy, everything that makes you good;)
brett estaba más duro que la realidad, qué tiempos
Suede are the most underrated band ever.
I couldn't agree more!
They're not. I love 'em, I love 'em , I love 'em. Can't rate 'em any higher.
What I mean is: It doesn't matter how anyone but yourself rates 'em. You won't love more for that.

@@chilloutzone2732 suede should be talked about as much as the smiths and radiohead are.
Como vuela el micro!! Brutal suede!!
🤩🤩🤩

Moment de grâce sur la fin de Saturday Night...
NEIL, MARRY ME PLS
Brett's Thin White Duke period. Glad he got through it! :0)
Forever 18.
Picnic at the motorway live version's like goth insanity.
Some pharmaceuticals taken before this gig me thinks
I dont think so. They just are like they are 😊
I'm laughing now remembering someone's comment that this was Brett's "Super Hans phase" if you're familiar with Peep Show, he absolutely did *something* before walking out for She, he gets a bit more into the music itself as the show goes on
Damn Neil was MOOD this gig, so many iconic moments 😆
You mean like @24:15 ? That eyebrow 😂
Iconic is the word indeed
@@Ludwig_Von_Schwarzeneggerthat's one of many, yes 😂
He messed quite a lot of keys, in picnic he did it on purpose

Why a baby bottle's on the keyboard?😲😱
Great gig! Really great, not just "pour parler"...
♥ :(
Show lindo da porra
génie
Neil was very ill at the time. And around that time Brett started taking H
Neil, why so serious dude?
Think Brett is absolutely fcked up
lmao neil is soo done
¿Qué problema tenía Neil? miraba como pidiendo que vinieran arreglar algo.
whats with grumpy coddling and his baby bottle

How much coke did he take before going on the stage?
Why? Are you jealous?

GO ED DER OAKESY.
The keyborder looks like it doesn't want to belong... is just my impression. But bothers me extremely. Being cool is one thing but too cool is anti
I would love to see Neil's special cos he is very sweet!!!
Everyone is busting their asses to give a good concert, but this disinterested keyboarder is ruining everything.
This is not an attitude, this is a refusal to work for many people who have paid real money.
God, that Neil dude is so annoying.
Why tho
@@Aedaes - He always looks like he's annoyed with everything on stage. He is a waste of air.
@@solesurvivor6514 i agree he's a pain
Kind of a Ron Mael thing he's got going there.
are they all gay or only the singer?
None of them are?
why would you think there all gay ?
only drummer actually lol 😐
It's only the drummer and your comment that are the gay things here.
