Very oversimplified, but good job hitting the key points in a short window! That's a really good summary to show to people who aren't willing to do hours of reading to figure out the truth on their own.

How do you explain the white southerners waiting until the late 1960s and early 1970s to switch from Democrat to Republican? As the video said, the South was a solid red block for a century. Why didn't it change when you claim the parties changed?
It's because the parties, culturally and sociologically, did not start to change until Nixon came along. Look up his Southern Strategy.

They actually started changing in the 30s with the New Deal programs, and I believe the change was solidified with the Southern Strat.

      The colors changed
Those that lived in the south, moved north, far away from people of color and the border.
It's still all the same. They just moved north and near water.

@@devo2 That's absolutely untrue. Even today, Southerners proudly tell you of generations of their family living on the same street or in the same town. It's the same all over.

Also during that time, Black voters shifted from Republican to Democrat largely over civil rights, on the federal level anyway. The South is the most religious and church going part of the country, so as that increasingly became associated with the Republicans, votes followed. A quick history in the video but you covered the main points without becoming bogged in details or biased, thank you

Well it was actively attacked, and once republicans stopped caring, there wasn't much to protect black people from Jim Crow laws creeping in. 2,000 black officials wasn't enough to stop every racist white person in the south nor north.
