    If you've wanted it for forever, go for it! Treat yo'self.
    Please make a build video. I reeeeeally want to know how to do the tracking and the sliding doors, and a cost comparison to a similarly-sized exo terra or something. I just did a 20 vertical conversion (with a DIY screen top) cost comparison but it included buying pre-made acrylic doors which def. added to the cost I think.
    I don't really "get" how to do the sliding doors. Do you need to make a little narrow glass ledge to attach the tracking to on the bottom? Seems like a plain glass edge would too narrow. Also, how do you make it so you can pop the glass doors in and out of the tracking?

    • @MikeTytula
      @MikeTytula  5 років тому +1

      The custom build tanks cost about as much as an exoterra of a similar size, but these are built to fit perfectly on rack systems and things where exoterras aren't. It's just sliding glass tracking that you silicone onto the bottom brace. And you cut the glass ever so slightly shorter than the actual size of the opening, so that way you are able to lift them right out.

    • @SimplyBetta
      @SimplyBetta 5 років тому

      Mike Tytula I see! Thanks for the reply. I forgot that the euro vent thing adds a lip where you can attach the tracking.

    You might want to put them in a smaller tank until they grow up a bit. I lost a veiled chameleon baby partly thanks to it's tank being too big for it. When they are young a huge tank stresses them out.

    • @MikeTytula
      @MikeTytula  5 років тому

      Chameleons can live in their adult size tank if they are old enough to be sold assuming that the parameters are correct. If it's setup properly it doesnt stress them out.

I notice in another comment you mention that you would have a care video when you "have their care down", so I only offer this as advice, ventilation is not the only reason that a mesh enclosure is preferred. I have a rescue chameleon with me now that lived in glass and he rubbed his poor nose completely down to the bone.

      Myself, and many others believe that if you can sell a chameleon they are able to move into their full sized home. This is due to them being perfectly capable of finding prey, granted if you are considering putting a baby in a larger tank it must be very well setup to ensure the chameleon doesn't get stressed. How big was the glass enclosure did he live in? And what species of chameleon is it?

    chameleons can do great in glass enclosures, they just need good ventilation. I just started keeping veileds so I have been going back to your older videos, I been keeping reptiles for 15 years mostly snakes and tegus and such, I cant believe it took me this long to get a chameleon, im getting hooked. Also I started thinking man you are like the orginal reptile youtuber that's not a big breeder, you have been around for years, and im glad you are still here, I can stand a lot of these new people, just not my style, but to each their own, keep putting out awesome content, thanks
