    I really like this very much. You’re very easy to listen to and so helpful when it comes to evaluating your own work. Seascapes are my favorite, having lived on Guam as a child. The colors there of the Pacific are incredible because of the reef. , I love the simplicity. Hoping I can achieve something like his.

      Hi Nancy! Wow you lived in Guam! That must have been amazing! Ocean everywhere! One of my friends lived on Kirabati with his Mum, Dad and sister for 2 years that would have been an amazing experience! They were both teachers! Yes I love seascapes too! It used to be mountains when I lived in the UK now its the ocean! I would love a studio that overlooked the ocean or the time to paint at sunrise or sunset as that immediate response to the light and landscape is what I crave! Happy painting! Cheers Scott

      Hi Lois! Thanks! Yes it takes a bit of a mental shift to paint smaller! I don’t know if you find that? Hope you are good! Thanks for watching. 🙏

      I do, I prefer to paint large and when I try to paint small my arm wants to swing and sweep the brush so it’s really hard! We are as well as can be expected here, my part of the country has very low rates of C19 at present, but that could change... thank goodness for art and nature eh? Take care and Happy Painting 😊🍷🍷

      That’s good! I’m glad you are all good! And yes I’m the same. I find painting small a bit constraining! It is really good to have painting and nature! I agree! I will be forever grateful for your shout out! It was very generous of you. If you would like me to post you one of my paintings that you like just let me know. 👍🙏

      Thanks Nathalie! Simple is great! I loved looking at many of turners little watercolour sketches in the Tate Britian in London many years ago now. They were just astounding at capturing the atmosphere of the landscape with a few brush stokes! Happy painting! 👍

Always changing and very restful for the soul. 🙏

    If you like wind and rain you should be in the UK right now! Can you please explain how you managed to not get green when you had a blue and yellow sky? Many thanks, I enjoy your videos.

    • @ScottSwinson
      @ScottSwinson  4 роки тому +1

      Hi boo, it’s a good question. I think it’s because I brought the blue/grey mix in gently up to the yellow and didn’t keep brushing lots of times. That way they are more Kiel’s to stay separate. Hope you are doing ok in the Uk. I have friends and family over there. 👍🙏

      Hi Joe, Yes! That would have been funny to see it running off the page! I did that once in Wales in the UK and as I was painting snowdonia it started to snow and the snow flakes make snow flake marks on the painting! Pretty cool! I think I still have that original painting! Thanks for watching! I will do a bit of en plein air at some stage down the track! In fact that is my dream to paint on the coast as the sun rises over the ocean on a large scale while a drone films from above and I paint what presents itself. Maybe a while away from achieving that but "I have a dream" lol. 👍

    Beautifully done seascape! I miss my ocean coming from Philippines and now here in Arizona which is a desert. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, I sure learned a lot. What is that thing you used to create those white streaks on the water? Does it peel off the paper?

    • @ScottSwinson
      @ScottSwinson  4 роки тому

      Hi Jhuvy, thanks! Glad you enjoyed painting the ocean. It is nice to paint what you are familiar with but it is interesting for me. I paint what is in my immediate surroundings. When I was in the UK and Europe I loved painting mountains but now in Sydney there are essentially no mountains and so I am loving painting the ocean which is on my back doorstep. Have you painted the desert around you? would be pretty powerful! Thanks for watching. Cheers Scott
