Jack and Palmer Meet For The First Time - 24 season 1
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 лют 2025
- Rare we get a Jack / Palmer moment where they're together. They mostly talk in phone calls after this. Cool to see them in such disagreement at the start of their friendship as they meet for the first time here. They discuss the assassination attempt on Sen Palmer and how Jack's family was kidnapped.

Palmer faced the Spec Ops soldier he thought was trying to assassinate him with zero protection. Badassery level over 9000.
'24' is the best show ever!!!👍
John Green 24 is at 1a and Game of Thrones is at 1b. Easily interchangeable for me.
Yeah
The very best show created.
Indeed
Fact
The beginning of a beautiful but chaotic friendship
YEAH THE BEGINNING OF A GET Good Friendship
@@jambulumetadze4979 guessing that he didn’t have the clearance for it.
Such a great show! Fictional or not, David Palmer will always be the first black president! THAT is the kind of man to lead a country!
A young, charismatic progressive black man with a deep voice. You can definitely see a parallel with Obama. Of course Palmer is fictional so he gets to do no wrong while real life politicians are more complex. But on the surface level they're really similar.
James Earl Jones was President long before Dennis Haybert.
I won’t lie, I like that they made his character black and it is part of his character but he transcends race, party, etc. as a leader!
He paved way for Barrack Obama
The BEST black president ever!!
One of my favorite scenes in the entire series. The shock on Jack's face when he sees Palmer, the shock on Palmer's face when he finds out what Jack was doing and realizing Chappelle and others were jerking him around what was happening.
I sat down and started watching this show about 7 years ago. Before I knew it, I'd watched all 24 episodes of all of the 8 seasons, and STILL didn't want it to end.
Palmer had balls to come see Jack while beliving he wanted to kill him.
I think on some level he didn't believe Jack wanted to kill him. Still bad-ass though. That's what a leader looks like--facing a threat head on.
Well its certain he was unarmed but knowing Jack he could probably have murdered Palmer with his bare hands.
@@cameroncaws5959 I'm not so sure. Palmer is built like a goddamn titan. Maybe Jack could do it, but with the absolute difference in size and sheer mass, i could also see Palmer winning.
He was God btw.
The beginning of a beautiful friendship
Jason Kersey the beginning of a beautiful Bromance by cell phone and of course brain tumors
24 season 1 episodes
Such a well-written scene. One of my favorite acting bits in this scene, which I’m certain was ad-libbed, was when Kiefer stops raising his voice to during Jack’s argument with Palmer at 3:37, and recalibrated his tone afterward.
You ever just think about how amazing Sutherland is at acting, he wasn’t great when he started out but he clearly worked hard and figured it all out
Definitely! Mine too!
One of the few times in the show Jack had to be submissive 😂
I am glad David Haysbert gpt casted as David Palmer and CBS the unit Jonas blane
2:26 Jack's reaction is damn near perfect. His face barely changes, but you can see that he's caught off guard, stopped dead in his tracks.
Season 1 is definitely one of the best
my opinion Best season
5,3,1,2,9,4,7,8,6
palmer really does have a powerfull voice. really makes you stop and pay attention. wish some of my uni lecrurers had that sort of voice as i constantly fall asleep in lectures :P
hahaha,,,,nice one
jpalmer999 😃😃😃
Now he’s in good hands with Allstate.
He played Jonas Blaine in the Unit and utilized his voice amazingly.
for me personally , i like agent smith of the matrix as my uni lecturer
The "yeeeeeeeeah" with Alan's remark is so good. Perfect summary of "yeah, he's a strict asshole" lol
I thought that too. No proof on screen they've met or knows him but definitely sounds likely
@hazmat7949 Alan's response of YEAAAH! when he heard the name is proof enough that he knows the man personally and how much of an overbearing jerk he can be with the rules which is why he had no problem with getting on top of that issue for Palmer. Lol 🤣🤣😁😎😉💯🔥👌
Not sure if Alan knew him - more that he might have heard of Chappelle on the grapevine and know about his neurotic & bureaucratic reputation. By doing this favour, Alan as a senior Pentagon/DoD official is also aware that Palmer will look after him in DC later if he gets elected as President, which is an event that the general public in the 24verse knows at this point to be highly likely. First season of 24 is more of a “normal working environment” piece where viewers get a deeper insight into the CTU everyday office politics.
Eighteen years later, 24 still holds up!
23 years later, it still does
Just starting season 5 now, still going strong!
I started rewatching the series yesterday and I don't ever rewatch a series.
Same here i have rewatch this series 3 times and i never rewatch any other serie
24 and Chernobyl are the only two series worthy to be rewatch.
I do it every 5 years or so 😂
Watched 3 times, soon a 4th
Every summer for me leading me into the fall sometimes Winter
Jack, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
From time to time I remember how great this show is. I still gotta finish my current rewatch sometime.
One of the most Important moments in TV history. The Senator David Palmer meeting CTU Agent Jack Bauer.
3:50 such a clever shot, Palmer having been huge and overbearing in this scene up to that point suddenly seems shocked and “smaller” to indicate the changing power dynamic in the room, when he realises that Jack is more on his level and is not his enemy. This show was so good - it’s badly missed - and such a shame that these two men weren’t in the same room more often as this is a great raw acting scene.
Can we talk about how badass Palmer is? Facing the highly-trained federal agent he thinks wants him dead with no supervision, no restraints, no nothing. God *damn.*
Biggest mistake EVER getting rid of Palmer .. Wayne doesn't cut it ! 🙄
Totally agree!!!
You have so right! I coudnt watch post S4 when i learned that.
@@usgpillarofark3980 You missed out because season 5 was and still is considered one of the best seasons of the series. That season is still worth a watch. Season 6 was the low point, though. At least watch 5.
@@Pirelli913 Already have :) indeed probably the best season without any filler or useless characters. But yeah second half of the show doesnt interest me because of all the characters that are missing.
Then they got rid of him too
First of all one of my favorite moments from Day 1. I love 2:41, Jack straight up takes it on the chin. That is pretty rare for Jack. Palmer's quote "leave us" always reminds me of The Emperor.
Evan Monroe empire
This was such a well-acted scene. Jack cutting himself off was amazingly executed.
Awesome
David Palmer - our FIRST black president. Badass!!!
Jon Doe yeah he was Obama before Obama Obama Saul 24 that damn I need to do it this guy doing become president
much better than scumbag Obama
#STILLTHEGREATEST
@T-Bob Obama funded our enemies, elevated racial tensions, instigated the war on police, failed to bring jobs back to America, failed to lower black unemployment, failed to secure the border, spied on Americans (think snowden), passed one of the most broken healthcare systems ever in the Affordable Care act (Obamacare), lowered our standing across the globe, cut our military funding which weakened our military, targeted people he didn't like such as Dinesh D'souza, raised our national debt astronomically... These are all things Trump has been attempting to fix and is largely succeeding at; but Obama did a massive amount of damage to America while he was here, because he was a community organizer with marxist beliefs, who didn't really do anything useful, nor knew how to do anything useful except read well from a teleprompter. I hope that answers your question.

The beginning of an amazing friendship and partnership.
D. Palmer had such presence and authority, the show missed him dearly
Back when someone could tell Jack to sit and he would.
He knew he was in good hands
I miss this show
The beginning of a great friendship.
Best series ever
Who wants to bet that Palmer didn't get Chapelle's vote.
lolol
well he ordered Chapelle killed later so that would've been ironic had he voted for Palmer
@@vertie2090Damn that moment was dark as hell.
The best black president America never had :/
Damn Right!!!!!!
What do you mean by that??
Oooooh yeah
President, forget the black
Next to Barack Obama of course! LOL😁😉👍
So many correct decisions were made with this show... for example, the use of the clock, and the sound as the seconds tick... it's as iconic as the 60 Minutes clock or the Twilight Zone music.
Season 1 Tony: Mr. Chappelle.
Season 2: Tony almost kills Ryan with chloroform.
Season 3: Jack kills Chappelle to comply to Saunders’ demands.
I have watched 24 TV series 5 times. One of my favorites
One thing we can learn from this: paradoxically, it’s possible to know something and be dead wrong at the same time. Funny how prone we are to jump to conclusions about things without knowing the whole story. Many years ago, many people knew that earth was flat. They even proved it. Food for thought.
This is such a great fucking show.
Dennis Haysbert is awesome.
This is an exciting film. Kudos to Bauer for unrelenting efforts even he sought to have give up., yet he's willing to sacrificing himself for undieable game.
I wish I could be a guy that can make one phone call and get everything I want. Senator Palmer was clearly a powerful Man.
Sir. Boaz Mutatay it's not whatever he wants, it's what's best for the country dumbass, have you not learned anything from the show?
GeeDotA2 Waouh man. You dont have to resort to insults. You should be better than that! Not everyone on the internet was not well raised. Show some class and have some manners.
I don't think he was, at the time when he was still senator, powerful like you say, but instead he called a favor from a friend in DoD based on some past interaction, or he was very influent in that department, who knows. Palmer was experienced with dealing with national security matters, so the DoD guys probably liked him more than others even before he was elected president.
@@YTDSoMTrue. But by virtue of being a US senator, you have many connections
The way Palmer turned to see Jack was badass
The best scene of the entire series!!! Set up such a great friendship between Jack and David, despite they never shared any orher screen time.😢
and the rest as they say, is history
Lol Palmer destroyed Ryan Chappelle😂😂
Cut his balls off and shoved it down his throat. lol
Chappelle was such a wonderfully slimy character.
Ever since that first encounter, Ryan Chappelle never liked Palmer. I actually think he wanted to undermine anything involving Palmer or Jack's benefit, as evident in Season 2.
Palmer was already on top of things even before he became president...
Gosh!!! I love 24!!!
My favorite tv series ever!!!
24; legacy looking forward to watching it here
They both crushed it , in this scene !
I remember being 10 and was so addicted to this show. I distinctly remember the beeping part when time was winding down. So good ❤
One of the best shows ever
This was a great scene between Jack Bauer & David Palmer. : )
La mejor serie que he visto, me intereso de principio a fin, miento sigo esperando que vuelva al aire!!!!!!
Great scene.
It's a shame that the vast majority of their scenes were over the phone. There is an intensity and chemistry between the two actors when they are physically in the same room together. Very watchable.
Classic scene
Are you in good hands
The beginning of Fox's longest running series
Actually its X Files.
The Simpsons, dumbass
Man, The Simpsons was intense!
Undoubtedly the best president ever!
What about Bartlett from The West Wing! LOL!
@@MrPolicekarim love that show!
Best 24 President
Period
Sean Callery at his finest
One of the best movie scenes ever. Loved the way the Pentagon guy gave the orders
Such a phenomenal scene.
Wtf I didnt remember milo being in season 1 i thought he was only in season 6!
I didn't remember either. A 24 fan forum I visited during Season 6 was like "holyshit Milo's back!" I was like "who's Milo?"
same. he was way better in s6 tho
Everybody yup Milo was brought in to help "Jenna?" Can't remember her name. My question was he all along after season 1 until season 6.
Philip Simmonds - U mean "Jamie?"
If you need to know who Milo is, go back to the interrogation with Jamey Farrell. Milo took her place.
I love so much 24h
Damn it!!! I miss 24!!!!
Did they use a different film stock for this series. It looks sharper than other seasons
nice sompilation.
Damn thats one powerful senator! Lol
Two things I love about this scene:
1. Everyone staring at Jack before he walks in the conference room, as if he's walking to his death.
2. How Palmer's authoritive, stern demeanor completely washes away in an instant when Jack tells him the terrorists had his family held hostage. He only met the man like 30 seconds ago and realized right then and there that he misjudged Jack.
Upload the scene from 24 Redemption when Jack kills his torturer with a leg snap.
That look @ 1:14 say, "I know where your head reaches and i went above it 😜"
Watching 24 is like you are been sucked in by some invisible force, that keep saying Keep watching, keep watching, keep watching, keep watching.....
The start of a beautiful friendship
Jack... are you in good hands?
The Start Of a beautiful Friendship.
damn, I want to see good tv again
GOD! I miss Jack Bauer!
0:11 That's what I wish I knew for the last 2 years. What a distraction.
Im currently in season 7 and I miss President Palmer so much
And since then, Jack Bauer has become the number 1 emergency button on David Palmer's cell phone
2:12-2:15
Last night?????
It was earlier that day!!!!!
The best "Leave us." since Darth Vader.
The beginning of a long, interesting and finally fatal relationship - but I loved all the shenanigans therein 🤨🤨
damn kiefer looks so young here.
can someone verify this for me, is this the only time jack is actually intimidated by someone?
@Greens Beans Potatoes Tomatoes yes you're right. Damn forgot about that haha, loved their relationship
The best way to deal with a person is by following their own protocol, and Chapelle's protocol is the chain of command, so Palmer exploited the chain of command to "persuade" Chapelle into giving him access to Jack.
This is why this guy became president :D.
Epic series.
Does a Senator actually have the power to authorize a military operation of any kind, let alone one overseas? That seems like something only the President can do
If he on the Senate Security Council and/or Senate intelligence committee, he would have "knowledge" of the operation but you are right. Only the President can execute such an order.
Jon Doe I'm sure Palmer was friends with the white house for the plan to be green light.
milestone380 Commander in Chief. But Deniability? And yes it was confusing to me too. It was good though for the connection. Established a baseline, and perhaps the Senator was embellishing his role in the planning and authorization process.
It's one of those things only 24 can do.
Palmer make have thought up the op and helped in its planning, but the president would have the final say!
Not true, 10PM-11PM when Jack saves Palmer a 2nd time when fires the phonebomb out the hotel window.
MN04, You're right, that one slipped my mind.
John Gormley - 24 Mega Fan Could you upload that scene? The part where Drazen gets a line in before the phone exploded was great.👍🏼
David Palmer i love you
Was like Han Solo meeting Darth Vader in TESB at 2.26
#THISISAWESOME
EPIC
LOL, no actual President has been as Presidential as Dennis Haysbert.
When exactly was operation: nightfall? was it 1999 or 2000?
Well probably 1999 because thats when Nato forces bombed the former Yugoslavia and the Kosovo war was over by June 1999.
So it makes sense even fictionally that it would have taken place in 1999
Question: You don’t suppose at the beginning that Palmer was speaking to Alan Milliken?
I hadn't thought of that 🤔
1:12 the face is like "I'm a boss ass bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch"
Guards. Leave us.
I’m here because of Allstate😂
1) Curtis
2) Palmer
3) Jack
4) Chase
Everyone else is nowhere close to those four
