@@clintadamswp Hi Clint there is no signs saying you cant enter. Except the road to the small bridge leading to the dam. But that road was fixed after the floods suppose by now it will be open.
That was the first Houwhoek pass. First of four. I doubt if it was ever de-proclaimed as a public road. Get used a lot by adventure bikes. A nice dirt road to Karwyderskraal road is via the N2, and then the Swartrivier road. Or even the Black Eagle road from Dassiefontein onto Hemel-en-Aarde. The Leeurivier road could easy be a grade 4 track by now.
