Hi 👋🏽 Kristin!!
I love ❤️ your garden!! 👩🏽🌾 I just uploaded my little deck garden 🪴 video today. Gardening is a lot of work no matter how big or small.
So much work!
Chickens are so cute 🥰🥰
Thank you
The insects are so bad. They got our broccoli. But im so excited to have things growing. This is my first year to have my garden and to grow from seeds
The bugs tore up all our greens, collards, cauliflower(s)... I love growing from seeds, very rewarding!
Good video.
A few suggestions.
If the rooster stays in the corner, it's a sign of him getting his tail whooped by other hens and roosters.
The bug problem on the fruit trees, is it those brown bottles? If so, they dig into the ground. Chickens will eat them if you can put them in that area.
Those bags, are awesome. I need to order some.
Have a great day. Michael Waters
Hey Michael, Roo's issue is he was inside for months before coming out with the others. He was never around other chickens and when I moved him outside, he was in a separate cage. I can already tell he is getting more comfortable; he's moving away from the corner. lol. The silkie roosters aren't as aggressive as the bigger roo's, they aren't bullying him, never had the chance....... We have Japanese beetles and the bag a bug bags seems to be working as well as the tree and veggie bags. Recommend 100%!! @WaterFamilyHomestead
Now One-Eyed Wanda, is a different story. 😁
Great video. Try and raise those water containers about 8” off the ground.
Hey Andy, the waterers are on bricks, the problem is chickens like to scratch and gets mulch all in the water. I guess I need lift it more. Thanks for coming to the premiere!
@@BellasWhisperFarmstead it was just a thought
Thanks for the advice and congrats on hitting 500!!! @backyard415
I will be here with my toothpicks lol
☕☕☕Hope this helps! 🥱
IM WAITING
Marite, Thanks!!☺
I've seen some of the fruit trees in our neighborhood with tarps over them. It's so funny to see so many trees all around, but the bugs are making a beeline (☺pun intended) for the fruit trees!
The bugs could take out a tree in a day, they are brutal on trees and gardens.

I didn't realize you were in Georgia. My husband is from GA. We have tons of family there and come all the time. Hugs Denise
Denise, we are in mid central Ga. Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hi Kristin! Great update video full of tips. I hope you do get some apples from those trees! Let us know how the bags do at protecting the tomatoes and other veggies! Could the chicken waterer be elevated slightly, on cinder blocks or something? Obviously low enough so the chickens can still reach. Just a thought. I used to house/farm sit for a family that had chickens with the standard metal waterer but they had theirs elevated a little. Fun premiere!
Jessie, thanks so much for coming to the premiere.... The waterer is on bricks but hard to keep clean because the chickens love to scratch and get all the mess in the little cups. I'll raise it more and see if that helps. Appreciate you!
Very informative video dear friend ❤wish your great success and happy ❤❤stay connected for new friend here ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
💞
I remember my gramps being so upset at all of the insects and animals getting to his tomatoes. But boy could he grow em!
Something is always waiting in the wings to eat the crops. 🐛🐰
Our tomato 🍅 plant barely survived cause it rained 🌧️ so much last month. Next time it rains I’m going to put a bag over it.
Anything to save the garden!!!
Nice

Hi Kristin, sorry you have to deal with this. The bags look good. Happy Sunday
So far so good on the bags!! Have a blessed day!
Ola amiga espero que suas armadilhas e suas bags deem certo como as criaturinha indesejadas.
agora contra os servos somente uma boa cerca pra barra-los; espero que tenha uma bela colheita.
I think a fence is next, thanks!
I'm sorry you have to deal with this. Good thing you found bags to protect the trees. Pray the deers stay away from the trees and veggies.
Stessy, thanks so much for stopping by. The bags are working good so far.
They are pain in the.....lol
Yes, the bugs are a pain. the bags seem to be working!
Get some deer 🦌 and rabbit 🐰 spray and spray it on your plants 🪴 and flowers 🌺 like we do it really works. They don’t like the smell
I'll look into that, thanks.
Those chickens are huge mennn
☺
Nice! Gramps also had an apple tree I believe it was just a "crap apple tree" is what he always called it lol If that is even right!
Haha, Crabapple tree 🦀
Ty Sis
Hey Sis, appreciate you! 😊
So sorry I missed your premiere, Kristen! Great video! As a couple others have mentioned, your chicken waterer needs to be raised higher. Most of the people I've seen who use that style of waterer have it up on top of the big concrete blocks as opposed to bricks. You may also try not putting the shavings so thick or so close. Beautiful ladies you have! What breeds are they and what color eggs do they lay? I want a few girls myself but I don't think the park would allow it despite being in the country.
Karma, thanks so much for visiting. The waterers are already raised and if it's raised too much the little ones won't be able to drink, we also do the deep bedding method in our coops.... We will just have to clean it out more.... The fluffy chickens are silkies, great starter chickens, very docile and friendly. 100% recommend!!! Their eggs are about half the size of a regular egg. Have a blessed day!
Reply on!❤

Hey 👋
😊
hope those things help. Maybe your plants are gourmet food for them.
The bags are helping a lot!!
You can use baking soda and water and spray them.
Awesome. I'll try that!!
protect the hens
Yes!!! ThNks so much for stopping by.
Dang bugs and critters and deer stink! I sure hope your hard work pays off. Here’s the truth about my successes battling them so far :
Only a high fence around the garden keeps the deer out. Literally nothing else will stop them ( except a rifle if the game warden isn’t watching 😂).
When it comes to the bugs I try my best to keep several winter crops alive throughout the summer. Yes, they will go to seed and look horrible;however… the bugs seem to flock to them and much less damage to the crops I’m growing in spring and summer.
When they eat all those up and start on the good crops, I try to use BT or Spinosad depending on what critter I am trying to specifically kill. As a last resort though, I use permethrin if necessary. I had to use it on my squash and zucchini twice, but it works. I wash the vegetables well before eating!
I hope you have the best of luck.
Hey, I told Michael get your deer stand ready! lol..... I have kept a few winter veggies out and those are getting tore up right now. Hopefully they keep on those and spare the others. I don't want to use spray but will. The lengths we go to so we can save our gardens. If it's not one thing it's something else.
@@BellasWhisperFarmstead It’s definitely a chore. Lots of folks do well with netting too, but I don’t want to mess with storing it and all the hassle! My deer problem is not on my property, however if it was … I would definitely be in the deer stand!
Assalamualaikum ❤
Blessings!!
lolol Just like some dang kids I tell ya
Feels like a run a daycare sometimes. 😂😆
What I wonder and maybe you will know! You said breathable cloth and it reminded me. So like in flower beds and mulching why do they lay down the black cloth like thing? We moved into our house and I see them all over in the flower beds. What is that for do you know?
The cloth in your flower beds is probably to try to keep the weeds out. We just laid the weed barrier in our flower beds.
is that a..beak proof vest 😉
why yes, yes it is!!! She's still in the silkie coop and the silkie roo's are very sweet. It also helps that she is a lot bigger than the silkie roos.
It is heartbreaking when all your hard work gets destroyed. I am behind on your videos. I have been out of town.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Hope these items help keep things away from ur plants.
So far so good!!
bugs bugs bugs
So many bugs!!!
I totally feel your annoyance. It is very disheartened when you can't eat what you work hard to grow.
Exactly!!
I hope deers will stay away
Me too! 😂😆Thanks for watching.
