I'm 44 and tried to be a skater when I was a teenager, I was 6'8" 200lbs of pure uncoordinated mess. Needless to say but I gave up quick and went back to basketball. But I constantly find myself watching podcasts and videos of skating, and this is great. Thanks for the good conversation and stories.

Im around that same height and yeah, dealing with growth spurt balance and learning to skate made for a roooooough first 3 years, i was always pretty nimble for my hieght but when skateboards are pretty much made for like 5'6-6'2 people you have way less margin for error with landing stuff, also going through different setups like some napkins for years too, if anybody else thats pretty tall/have long legs is reading this, try a 8.75-9" width x 33" length board with a 15" wheelbase, might take some getting used to but it makes the job so much easier.
i usually "watch" podcasts because i like seeing the interaction between guests and the hosts, and getting a glimpse into their personalities. i was folding laundry tonight, so for the first time ever, i just listened to most of the podcast on my headphones...i get it now. the banter was great!!
Got on the board for the first time in 8 months today for the cause. Broke my ankle on a mini ramp at 27 years old. 😂

@@graxjpg it's currently winter so it's been a few weeks. But I was using it to run to the store again. Still don't have my leg strength back all the way so gonna be on my exercise bike a bunch this winter.

This is the best podcast I’ve listened to in such a long while. These two together are perfect and Jason is such a good storyteller.
I wanna say it’s an absolute honor to be a part of the first people to see this podcast grow and I would also like to say that as a fan would love to hear how the bones brigade squad interacted with other popular skate groups such as Tony alvas gang and more elaboration on what it was like for each individual Turing during the bones brigade times
