Nice video, the whale shark experience must be great! 👌 Funny how some people waste money and time on snorkeling with them or freediving, but the best experience underwater is always on scuba.
Well this one came up after we surfaced. So in effect I was snorkelling. In my experience scuba with whale sharks is tricky because if you are on the front and exhale the bubble annoy the sharks as you can see in this video. If instead you go on the sides they are totally fine. If you have breath holding skills you can still go under the shark as well
@@Interceptor121 I heard from other people, that scuba with whale shark is fine, they dont care about bubbles at all, so its probably depending on the shark mood :-) and is always good not to block way which they swim..
@@KateandPeterPhotography i have done both. Snorkelling lends to longer time with the shark because they mostly feed at the surface. However if they are not feeding scuba is better because they won’t be at the surface and you need to skin dive. So the two situations are mutually exclusive. If you absolutely want to see whale sharks you to a location where they feed at the surface and you are guaranteed the experience
@@Interceptor121 I think that is always much better to have a accidental encounter with dolphins, sharks etc while scuba, than choose a organized "chase-the-animal-snorkeling-too-much-people-there" trip. And also photos or videos from whale shark swimming in the deep instead staying in the surface will be much better..
@@KateandPeterPhotography as I said if you go snorkelling you will see them for sure and if you have the technique you can take a photo from under. In terms of diving except few places your chance of seeing one is much lower and they can be far away the time you get closer they may be gone. So there is no better or worse case
