This song is a great argument for the orchestra. The studio version was very flat and lifeless, but this live version, with the arrangement and that killer guitar, not to mention Anabel Conde's astounding vocal, elevated this song to one of the best of '95, and if not for "Nocturne", it would've been a very deserving winner.

It should have been a very deserving winner. As much as I now love Nocturne, I do prefer the Israeli and Spanish entries.
RTE's orchestras were fantastic in the 90's. I think they did a great job on the UK as well, on a song that doesn't exactly lend itself to an orchestra.
The Icelandic jury gave it 5 points and the other Nordic countries (Norway, Sweden and Denmark) 0 points.
Even with Nocturne, my friend, she was a fair winner. Our own broadcaster tve has ignored very much her achievement for decades, what a pity of national tv service. Anyway, we spaniards love her and what she did. A performance of a lifetime for Eurovision

I agree. A very good song with a fitting orchestral arrangement (miles better than the lifeless studio version) and a terrific performance from Anabel Conde.

Inexplicablemente Anabel no ha tenido la fama que merece...dificilmente hay alguna cantante en nuestro pais a tal nivel de excelencia...su actuación fue épica ....
La pobre tuvo muy mala suerte con la discográfica porque Jercar quebró al año siguiente (1996) y la eclipsó la muerte de Lola Flores. Además, no tenía demasiado carisma ni tablas en comparación con otras cantantes y su gestualidad era regular imitando a Mariah Carey.

@@andrewdubs5664 Initially she was supposed to sign a contract with record company BMG Ariola, but due to bureaucreatic or budget reasons, she did it with a smaller record company from Barcelona called Jercar.

Superb performance by the Spanish entry. Arguably the best ever from Spain. Funny thing is that the eventual winner, Norway, didn't even sound Norwegian. It could easily have been Ireland's entry.

One of my favourites Spanish Eurovision entries. I can't believe this didn’t win. Anabel really sung her heart out, and also sung with such great passion. Bella voz, buena orquestación. Pena que no haya tenido el reconocimiento posterior en los demás países hispanohablantes. Nunca España debe dejar de cantar en su lengua en los concursos de Eurovisión. Como nunca lo han hecho Italia, Francia y Portugal.

una de las mejores interpretaciones de Espana en el festival.Cancion con un insistente estribillo, pero una chica de 19 anos, y debutando, pues ha sido una soberbia interpretacion, con espectaculares subidas de tonos , con buen aguante, fue magnifica Anabel Conde , que nos dejo en un segundo honroso puesto, ya que ese ano ningun pais podia competir con Noruega, que llevaba un tema instrumental en la mayor parte , exceptuando unos segundos de una esplendida voz de Gunita Pineren, pero era una preciosa melodia, y me reitero, ese ano ningun pais podia hacer sombra a Noruega, pero es una pena que no se hable de nuestra gran Anabel Conde.
La vocalista de Secret Garden se llama Gunnhild Tvinnereim y no Gunita Pineren y es miembro activo del Oslo Gospel Choir.

Acostumbrados a quedar en la sda mitad de la tabla...ese año nos dio una grata sorpresa ni TVE se lo esperaba...una gran interpretación con una gran voz y buen coro sincronizado sin aires de grandeza....bien por España aquel 1995.
I remember I fell for this one, when I saw it as an 11 year old boy in Norway. Nocturne is great. But this one is lovely. A bittersweet victory.
The Norwegian jury didn't vote for it as well as Sweden and Denmark either, probably because she shouted too much, 10 points to Russia were a bit too much.
@@herrprofessor Yes, "politic shouts" hehe... All those 3 minutes was pure art. I guess many of them who didnt vote even 1 point (not judging those Eurovision politics things), cryed hearing those shouts. I am absolutly sure no joke.
Please people, go to Andorra 2005 eurovision video and put in 2:42 (more or less, depending on the video choosed). Anabel was in the Choir. And see what she did saying "interior".. What that girl do with high notes its just incredible!!
