    Boeing can't afford to lose Ryanair as a customer, simple as that. Big orders, big volumes, a signal to the market that Boeing can be efficient when it needs to be. If they can sell to Ryanair they can sell at every specification to every airline and they know it. Ryanair always do the business and never fail to pay or put in orders when they are much needed.

      Eh, the Airbus a320neo line outperforms them on most metrics, problem for Airbus is they can't make them quick enough, they're backordered for the next 10 years, and now that the Max has had it's issues solved(hopefully) airlines who can't get Airbus orders/who have a primarily Boeing fleet anyways are now getting their max orders in

    • @JDela10
      @JDela10 5 місяців тому

      He's buying from Boeing because Ryanair pilots are trained on the Boeing 737 aircraft. Why the hell would he change to another aircraft and have to spend fortunes retraining pilots, crew, and engineers? He knows his business inside out. And as for supporting jobs, please, Ryanair has been an economic gift to all of Europe, given it has enabled scores of millions more people to afford to travel, with low fares leaving them with more funds to spend while on trips etc.
      As for Brexit, O Leary's opposition was down to Ryanair's interest in the free movement of people. It's good for their business for obvious reasons. Otherwise, O Leary is a frequent critic of Brussels and the depressing effect its overbearing regulatory culture has on innovation and growth in Europe. All you have to do is look at the history of the GDP of the Eurozone and the USA going back to the start of this century. There was a time where they were close to even, and now the USA GDP is around ~$10 trillion more than the Eurozone. O Leary isn't wrong.

    • @CianMcsweeney
      @CianMcsweeney Рік тому

      @@austindarrenor i mean, Boeing are the ones who added the MCAS unit that could override a pilots inputs... In all seriousness though, aircraft will never be fully automated, we don't even automate metros/trains even though they're the easiest vehicle to do it for, some level of human oversight will always be needed. And anyways, 90% of the flight is automated already, pilots are there to perform checks, check balance sheets, takeoff & land, program the autopilot etc.

    • @austindarrenor
      @austindarrenor Рік тому +1

      @@CianMcsweeney I'm not very familiar with the MCAS unit but anything that would override the pilots inputs just seems like a really bad idea. And I know, pilots have become more like programmers than someone that knows how to fly an airplane. And there's no doubt people don't mind paying a few extra dollars on their ticket to have two humans in the cockpit 😆 To do otherwise just isn't worth the incredible amount of expense to the FAA, Boeing and Airbus.

    • @austindarrenor
      @austindarrenor Рік тому

      @@CianMcsweeney Probably the reason I'm not familiar with MCAS is because with the crashes of those two 737 Max's I just didn't want to hear about it. Being a Boeing guy it was disheartening. But if Airbus had kept the yoke instead of the side stick Air France A330 flt 447 wouldn't be at the bottom of the Atlantic right now. Neither Boeing or Airbus are infallible.
