- Yamaha continues its reputation for improving on every model in its respective series. Building further on the impressive PSR-E373, Yamaha brings additional sounds and beats, a more efficient control panel workflow and plenty more subtle improvements to the PSR-E383.
Really proud to bring you the first review of this one!
I love the sound at the start, it’s soothing. As always, Yamaha manages to impress me again
Glad you enjoyed the video
Wow this is very cool 😎. I enjoyed it. And noticed that the display shows both voice and style. Look forward to more.
More to come!
I _knew_ it! The PSR-E383 was gonna come out on April 24th instead of July or August!
Also, my dad is gonna buy me a PSR-EW320 instead of the PSR-E383 from the Thomann Music USA store.
Hi Glynn, very cool! The organs are especially nice, as are the effects.
Are there some new accompaniments? Looking forward to the next video.
Thanks for this video, have a nice day 😊
Might be buying the PSR E383 just for fun 😎
My pleasure as always :) I think I did hear a few new accompaniments, yes. Of course I am especially excited to experience the PSR-E483, but I've had no information from Yamaha about it yet.
What the... ??? Big Sound improvement.... Am I wrong in saying they have put same sounds and FX of the PSR-473 in this new PSR-383... They do sound very similar including Articulation... Can't wait to see what Yamaha will do with PSR-483... Thank You for Sharing Bro!
Yes! Hopefully they'll bring back chromatic sampling on the 483. I hear what you're saying about the sounds. It seems to me that most of the palette is the same or very similar, but there are a few stand-out sounds that I think are clearly improved. Thanks for watching :)
@@gearfacts Yes... And hopefully they will bring back Sampling made in the right way...
@@Alex-kk5yh No more QSF files!!!
@@gearfacts I am not asking MP3, but I would really be happy with Wav files import/export 😁... Also some kind of editing for the sequencer and a separate "Fill in" button... Maybe 3 variations Style? Not asking for 4 Lol
No way! Already out where did the time go i remember just yesterday waiting 3 years for e473. Wow!
Yes indeed. I've heard there's still a while to wait for the 483.
Did anybody notice that there is a new drum kit when he played one of the styles before he eneded the video. To me sounds like that of the PSR SX600 or the DGX670. So now we may just have a new drum kit on top of the power kit that we had for a while in addition to the old XGLite drum kits. That's what I Noticed . Of course, it is possible that the samples are smaller or maybe not. It is kind of hard to tell due to the compression on the camera's audio or something. Thanks Gearfacts. Keep the videos comming. I am thankfull that you are still providing these new and old gear. Shows how much tech in these machines have been progressing, even though we can't always ask for to much, lol.Waiting for the series of keyboards that I am intrested in, the E4 series. Take care and god bless.
I think Yamaha has to focus on replacing voices from the next PSRE rather than adding voices. They are so many 90s trash, annoying and extremely toyish 5$ keyboard voices and drumkits here. They should start using sampled voices like in the Tyros and delete trash voices.
@@amusic9825 Cheers to both of you for your comments and for watching :)
Wow!!!! Awesome
Glad you like it!
I just traded in my PSR-EW310 on a Keyboard Controller. This new model isn't showing up on Yamaha's USA site yet. Very cool new model.
Yes, Yamaha made the interface much more slick than previous models
What I am interested in is the midi capabilities of this keyboard. And I am anticipating the PSRE483. I currently have the PSRE463 and I have looked at the manual for the PSRE473 and its midi capabilities. And I can tell you that the PSRE473 does except control change CC numbers 82, and 83. Which are General Purpose Buttons 3 and 4 respectively. And those are toggle on/off controls. The PSRE463 does not support CC82 and CC83. Also, I know that the PSRE463 and PSRE473 have the Groove Creator, that comes with 35 grooves. No more and no less. You cannot actually create your own custom grooves from the ground up. So if the PSRE483 comes out, I will be interested to see if they still include the Groove Creator and if so, that you can actually create your own custom grooves from the ground up.
Personally I doubt there'll be a groove creator because that's a feature they're more likely to leave to the advanced keyboards. But I HOPE I'm wrong!
Yamaha put the Real Drum Kit in an E series model! That surprised me.
Amazing presentation. A question: do you have any idea of when they will release the next keyboard to replace sx900 ? Thanks
The Yamaha PSR-SX900 you mean? I don't know sorry, but I'm having lunch with a guy from Yamaha soon, I'll try to remember to ask.
Did they change any of the built-in teaching features? That is normally the strong point of the 3x3 keyboards in the Yamaha line-up.
Yes I think it was improved. Tbh it's not a feature that I ever look closely at. I should try harder in that department!
Hey is it a major upgrade over the PSR E373 ?? Can u share a quick comparison pls
The pianos and saxophone are exceptionally good for a keyboard in this range and the guitars
are also more realistic compared to the E303. I know Voice Articulation was introduced on the
E373 but still an impressive feature to have on an entry level keyboard.
Yes, and also voice articulation can be activated using the foot pedal which is a nice feature (video about special features coming soon)
@@gearfacts Interesting. If I recall, this could not be done on the E373 or am I mistaken?
You've got to be kidding. That sax is terrible.
@@amusic9825 Bear in mind that isn't a Super Articulation saxophone but rather these "Voice Articulations" are reworked "Sweet" "Cool" and "Live" voices. This is actually based on one of the saxophones from Tyros 1, possibly introduced on the PSR-7000 or 8000 actually.
@@vbdx66 Hmm I'm not sure, but I *think it could be done.
Comparé especificaciones con el E373 y las diferencias mas importantes son: Mas sonidos, mas ritmos, mas efectos DSP, chorus, reverb, etc., mas ritmos, una funcion nueva llamada Auto Chord Play
Hi. Can I record a song in this keyboard and export the file in midi format to my CPU so I can edit the music sheet? If so, what kind of cable do I need? Thank you.
Well, they can feed a mini file into it so I’m pretty sure you’d be able to feed a midi file out of it. The manuals available online if you want to confirm to be honest, I’m not 100% sure.
Other than the learning features, doesn't really look like there's much new? Was sad to see they're still stuck on only 2 chord detection modes; seems they refuse to give up on that (like Casio refuses to include audio interfaces in the USB port). Was hoping to see full keyboard chord detection as an option
Every new model is a small step forward :)
very impressive. how much does it weigh?
About 6 or 7 kilograms I think
And what are the new features and improvements comparing to 373?
A lot of people are asking that - it's a general step up in the quality of sounds (though many are just the same as the 373) and there are a lot of new styles to try out. The operating system is a little bit faster too, though it takes a bit of getting used to, it's not the familiar PSRE system we've gotten used to over the last 15 years!
Why Are You Not Doing The Yamaha PSR-E283?
Didn't have enough money in the bank at the time!
It's just another terrible keyboard anyway.
Is this the update to psr e373, is it better to wait and purchase e383 than e373?
It is the update form the 373. Tricky question, it would just come down to how much difference there is in price. if the difference was more than, say $100, I think I'd settle with the 373
Thanks for the video but it would be nice if you compared them side by side or, at least, told us what has been improved in 383 over 373 .
Just saying "more efficient control" does not give us much info as to why we should choose 383 over 373. Cheers.
Yeah I would like to have done that but I don't have the 373 anymore.
The keys are like the psr e363 ?
Yes very similar
does E383 have touch sensitive like the old E373?
Si. Solamente la serie E200 e inferiores no tienen sensibilidad
@@ayrtoninchejanampa6874 thanks for answering!
Yes, although the feel is slightly different.
@@gearfacts better the old one or the this one?
really appreciated the reply, I'm considering buying either this or the old E373
The keys are like psr e373 ?
Similar, not exactly the same.
Yeah, but after all these years, Yamaha still don't got a coffee cup holder!
Jokes aside, I agree! Keyboard designers should have more awareness of other objects a player is likely to have eg drinks, cables not in use, wallet/phone, snacks etc etc. …ok maybe not snacks :)
What is the price of the keyboard
Depends on where you live, i suggest searching online for what's available.
@@gearfacts Not available in my country yet. Is it the same price as the 373 when it came out?
Ok. Tell me this. What have they improved here? The same xg sound engine has been used since 1994, you might say they are adding sounds but these high quality sounds already existed in psr keyboards from the 90s. They have been milking everyone's money since 2005 ish and everyone is still impressed with them 20 years later? The rhythms were also from early Yamaha psr keyboards. So in my opinion, there's nothing to be excited about. But that's just my opinion.
Yeah. But Yamaha has tremendously improved the the acoustic drum sounds. It sounds like something from SX700 which is 5 times the price of this keyboard.
I think they got the technology just right around the XG capability. Keyboard usage is just about right as well. Why change? 😊
The sound quality has greatly improved, IMO. And the effects module is very interesting. Curious to see whether there are new styles.
The Yamaha PSR-E series keyboards are entry level keyboards, the PSR-E3 and E4 series keyboards have always been a respectable
keyboard for anybody starting out and people who buy these keyboards know exactly what they are buying. The Yamaha E473 is
actually better and more powerful as it has more panel instruments, it even has some of the same sounds from the SX600 and SX700
but at a more affordable price. Also general midi and XG support is still a useful feature for people who wish to play along to midi
backing tracks which is the main reason Yamaha keyboards still support XG. To be honest I personally find the Genos 2 underwhelming
because that's well out of my price range and arranger keybaords aren't really my thing.
@LittleRichard1988 Even 10 year old PSR S650 sounds much better than e473. It's unbelievable that Yamaha improved the drums this way. It's tremendously and immensely better than 473. But it sad to see they are still clinging to their 90s terrible voices. I've heard a new electric guitar in the e383. PSRE desperately needs a better electric guitar voices.
Casio meanwhile when it comes to new keyboards: 💀
I thought the CT-S1000 was pretty innovative but it got a mild reception from the market, generally.
