Yes! Hopefully they'll bring back chromatic sampling on the 483. I hear what you're saying about the sounds. It seems to me that most of the palette is the same or very similar, but there are a few stand-out sounds that I think are clearly improved. Thanks for watching :)

Did anybody notice that there is a new drum kit when he played one of the styles before he eneded the video. To me sounds like that of the PSR SX600 or the DGX670. So now we may just have a new drum kit on top of the power kit that we had for a while in addition to the old XGLite drum kits. That's what I Noticed . Of course, it is possible that the samples are smaller or maybe not. It is kind of hard to tell due to the compression on the camera's audio or something. Thanks Gearfacts. Keep the videos comming. Take care and god bless.
I think Yamaha has to focus on replacing voices from the next PSRE rather than adding voices. They are so many 90s trash, annoying and extremely toyish 5$ keyboard voices and drumkits here. They should start using sampled voices like in the Tyros and delete trash voices.
I have a dilemma whether to choose 383 or 473? The price difference is small. I want to learn the rules and play this instrument. Won't 473 be too complicated?
Same here ... The pitch bend I guess is now a button on the 383 and comes on the 473. I think that this year Yamaha also addressed and added 4 part modulation the the 383.
What I am interested in is the midi capabilities of this keyboard. And I am anticipating the PSRE483. I currently have the PSRE463 and I have looked at the manual for the PSRE473 and its midi capabilities. And I can tell you that the PSRE473 does except control change CC numbers 82, and 83. Which are General Purpose Buttons 3 and 4 respectively. And those are toggle on/off controls. The PSRE463 does not support CC82 and CC83. Also, I know that the PSRE463 and PSRE473 have the Groove Creator, that comes with 35 grooves. No more and no less. You cannot actually create your own custom grooves from the ground up. So if the PSRE483 comes out, I will be interested to see if they still include the Groove Creator and if so, that you can actually create your own custom grooves from the ground up.
I was wondering if you are willing to help me. I wonder if the sound String that were found when pressing 77 on a PSR-EW310 is to be found on the new EW320 keyboard? I hope it is not a lot to ask for.
Hi, I can’t be 100% sure but sounds like this are very often replicated between different Yamaha keyboards. I’d be surprised if the sound wasn’t there :-)
The answer is actually pretty simple - the sounds are almost exactly the same between those two models. There are a few extras in the 383 but nothing dramatically exciting. Consider also that the 425 has the benefit of the dynamic control knobs, which make a huge difference, to the sonic possibilities.
Hi Glynn, very cool! The organs are especially nice, as are the effects. Are there some new accompaniments? Looking forward to the next video. Thanks for this video, have a nice day 😊 Might be buying the PSR E383 just for fun 😎

Hi. Can I record a song in this keyboard and export the file in midi format to my CPU so I can edit the music sheet? If so, what kind of cable do I need? Thank you.
Well, they can feed a mini file into it so I’m pretty sure you’d be able to feed a midi file out of it. The manuals available online if you want to confirm to be honest, I’m not 100% sure.

@@rkayad I'd say the operating system is for a beginner who is approaching intermediate. There are simpler keyboards out there, but this one isn't rocket science. It's right in the middle :)
The pianos and saxophone are exceptionally good for a keyboard in this range and the guitars are also more realistic compared to the E303. I know Voice Articulation was introduced on the E373 but still an impressive feature to have on an entry level keyboard.
@@amusic9825 Bear in mind that isn't a Super Articulation saxophone but rather these "Voice Articulations" are reworked "Sweet" "Cool" and "Live" voices. This is actually based on one of the saxophones from Tyros 1, possibly introduced on the PSR-7000 or 8000 actually.

Other than the learning features, doesn't really look like there's much new? Was sad to see they're still stuck on only 2 chord detection modes; seems they refuse to give up on that (like Casio refuses to include audio interfaces in the USB port). Was hoping to see full keyboard chord detection as an option
A lot of people are asking that - it's a general step up in the quality of sounds (though many are just the same as the 373) and there are a lot of new styles to try out. The operating system is a little bit faster too, though it takes a bit of getting used to, it's not the familiar PSRE system we've gotten used to over the last 15 years!
This is weird. And I don't know what's happening with the market.. This is supposed to be the successor to the 373? In our region the 383 is cheaper than the 373. Maybe it's because of all the hype the 373 generated being marketed as a bang for buck keyboard for beginners but now due to all the recommendations the price jumped up to around $250 meanwhile my brother in law just bought his 383 the other day for around $220-ish.
Thanks for the video but it would be nice if you compared them side by side or, at least, told us what has been improved in 383 over 373 . Just saying "more efficient control" does not give us much info as to why we should choose 383 over 373. Cheers.
It is the update form the 373. Tricky question, it would just come down to how much difference there is in price. if the difference was more than, say $100, I think I'd settle with the 373
Jokes aside, I agree! Keyboard designers should have more awareness of other objects a player is likely to have eg drinks, cables not in use, wallet/phone, snacks etc etc. …ok maybe not snacks :)
Ok. Tell me this. What have they improved here? The same xg sound engine has been used since 1994, you might say they are adding sounds but these high quality sounds already existed in psr keyboards from the 90s. They have been milking everyone's money since 2005 ish and everyone is still impressed with them 20 years later? The rhythms were also from early Yamaha psr keyboards. So in my opinion, there's nothing to be excited about. But that's just my opinion.
Yeah. But Yamaha has tremendously improved the the acoustic drum sounds. It sounds like something from SX700 which is 5 times the price of this keyboard.
The Yamaha PSR-E series keyboards are entry level keyboards, the PSR-E3 and E4 series keyboards have always been a respectable keyboard for anybody starting out and people who buy these keyboards know exactly what they are buying. The Yamaha E473 is actually better and more powerful as it has more panel instruments, it even has some of the same sounds from the SX600 and SX700 but at a more affordable price. Also general midi and XG support is still a useful feature for people who wish to play along to midi backing tracks which is the main reason Yamaha keyboards still support XG. To be honest I personally find the Genos 2 underwhelming because that's well out of my price range and arranger keybaords aren't really my thing.
@LittleRichard1988 Even 10 year old PSR S650 sounds much better than e473. It's unbelievable that Yamaha improved the drums this way. It's tremendously and immensely better than 473. But it sad to see they are still clinging to their 90s terrible voices. I've heard a new electric guitar in the e383. PSRE desperately needs a better electric guitar voices.
