A fine liner and a ballpoint pen are fundamentally different, we can’t forget that. I use both, liner for my coloured works and ballpoint for my sketches. Different tips create different textures.
What i hate from ballpoint is that we don't know when it will be too much ink or when it suddenly stop working lol. It's good for texture but if you want a smooth line go for the fine liner
Likewise, I’ve found ballpoint has a harder time drawing overtop of pencil, which means if you sketch with pencil first, it’s better to line it with the fine liner, then go in with the ballpoint for details, shading, etc. (imo)
I almost purely do pen and ink, and a standard ball point sucks in my opinion, but a few higher priced ball points work greatly without too much issue on ink flow when needed.
ball point better on shades cause it can shades as pencil shade (if you prefer smooth shade) but if you like shade as comic shade, fine liner was great
I wouldn't say that it looks necessarily "better" they both look equally good just for different reasons. The shading of the cheaper pen looks more three dimensional. Which does look quite good because it has more perspective emphasis. While the more expensive pen has much better base line definition. I'd say the best option would be to just use the cheaper pens for shadow work. Since you can draw with them as if you were doing shadow work with a pencil due to the way the ink comes out of that kind of pen. While using the expensive brand to really emphasize the shape of whatever you're drawing.
@@lol-ivan7500 im a huge fan of cheap office pens and stationary, but ballpoints are especially hard to work with if you arent great at pressure on the paper lol
Alisa is the type of classmate you couldn't decide if you had a crush on because she was pretty, talented, or funny. Then realize it's all of the above.
I love the black BIC Ballpoint Pen. I love how you can make the lines lighter or darker depending on what you want to do. Does great for shading. Both the cheap and expensive pens work great together. Cheaper for the initial sketch and shading and darker for those lines you want to really pop
Materials do matter, it's actually very disheartening for many engineers because they will use low quality supplies and not understand why they can't get decent results. When part of it is that their materials are indeed just harder to get to work properly.
I love drawing with ballpoint… With fine line I have to be very very careful and I hate that… I once compared my drawings with ballpoint and fine line, and the fine line looks like a toddler’s drawing..
I honestly love a ballpoint pen its one of my favorite things for art and it makes me feel like im using a pencil but everything i do is permanent, teaching me to us less contrition lines
As scott Christian sava said himself "ballpoint pens are pretty versatile for something that wasn't meant for art" even tho they aren't expensive or that flashy they're pretty reliable
Hello and welcome to .. THE SLINGSHOT CHANNEL. lol that flashed me. Btw nice vids. I like your voice a lot. It calms me, its soo chill. Keep going. Dont change.
The cheap pen is like my favorite pen. Idc about how expensive it was(actually it were 20 pens for 50 cents so really cheap) but it looks awesome which is all what counts
You do realise that copic fineliner is literal waste of money. It costs a lot. "it has refill system!" BUT ALL U DO IS REMOVE THE THING CONTAINING THE SPONGE WITH INK AND REPLACE IT! THAT THING IS ALREADY WORTH A CHEAPER FINELINER. "WELL THE TIPS WEAR DOWN SO WE GOT THOSE *REPLACABLE* " AND YES yes, the nib of those is worth another cheaper fineliner. (The cheaer fineliner: UNI PIN or Faber Castell)
I use a black ball point pen because my hands are too shaky for actual liners, plus I like the way the ball point pen's ink kinda mixes with my markers and gives it a purplish tint, goes good with purple shading
I prefer drawing with ball pens tbh. Only cuz the fact that they’re more flexible when ur shaping out things. Unlike fine liners which don’t give u much opportunity to fix up mistakes
I got a ten pack of pens for about 1.30ish usd, still my favorites, I always buy those exact ones. Just did a realistic drawing of an eye and did all shading with it. Expensive can help with tons of stuff, like keeping a straight consistent line, but the cheep cuts out here and there, giving more authentic of a shade/pen drawing look

I agree. Different tips feel different.

I actually like the regular pin more just a little bit more. 😊
i liked them both

Her tracing the vertical line so smooth and straightly like a human compass: ✨✨✨
I dip my fingers and ink and draw like that

Yeah, the blue pen definitely wins without a doubt.

Its requires a lot of control though, coming from a traditional artist that use both archival ink and oil based ink

she didn't try bro she got lazy on the second one this girl is absolutely amazing at art trust
so basically it doesn't matter how expensive or cheap your pen is, what matters is how skilled you are
Alisa thankuu so much for your heart, you are really amazing😭😊😊
Fax. It's not the instrument, it's the artist.
actually both matters anyway but when it come to simple drawing any pen will do just fine.
Yes! Up to a certain point the price doesn’t matter

I love drawing with ballpoint pens. Especially blue ones. There’s just something so satisfying about it.
Right?? Like, black BIC is nivr, but blue bic, theres just something about it man, specially when you combine it with red for some small details
Or blue with some type of gold color

Both of them looked good imo
Materials do matter tho

And a true artist-definitely not you-knows that the materials actually do matter. But the talent shows with both of the pens in this video.

Calligraphy pen from dollar tree not generally good for calligraphy but for drawing
I like ballpoints personally because it fits with just how I draw when I even draw, but I’m sure everyone has their tastes.
i think you should have compared ballpoint to pencil for a more clear comparason
does not matter, alisa chung can make museum worthy art using any medium.
Like how in the start she poses like pose reference images lol
Your panda eyes looks cute
I love using both of these, although I always use pens just for random sketches and an actual lineart pen for full & colored drawings
Definitely the pen is better than the fine liner
Pen is better in many ways
Is the fine liner just a gel pen?
home pen must be the sigma
It depends on your need
Your so pretty !

the poses! iconic 💀
They're both good for different things so I don't think it's very fair to compare them. Usually liners aren't meant for shading 🤷♀️
Hear me out fine liner for the liner and a black cheap ball point for shading

The one who Drew.. definitely worth it...😌😏
What a beautiful lady ;) sheesh
I feel like if you combine them it would look pretty too
The pen looks better honestly
She has a beautiful face that doesn’t need makeup wow at least I think so. And she’s an artist 🥰🤙
I think the fine tip is meant for outlines because it makes it bolder but the ball point pen definitely wins the shading
Could you pls compare cheap ballpoint vs expensive ballpoint, or cheap drawing pen vs expensive drawing pen? 😂

Decide for myself? Who am I? Van Gogh?
Ballpoint pens are great in a different kind of art style like hatching whereas the fine liner works well with her style.

Ballpoint. You wasted 15 dollars.
I just cut my finger and use blood
Don't have to color and iz frew
The ballpen that u saw around your house Was MORE pretty 😍
I don’t need cheap or expensive, just inky
tbh it also depends on the type of art style you prefer.
She just copy paste an art with her barehand with different pen ... That is amazing Braaavouhh
Oscar Ukonu and other artists like him use ballpoint pens for their hyperrealistic drawings.
I always love drawing with my ballpoint pens.

That’s why you learn to use calligraphy pens!
Didn't expected the Jojo poses at the beginning
You're face from the side kinda looks like Konomi Naito
I use both but if you only have the cheap ballpoint you can manage. It's what I started with when I would draw with ink.
It depends on what project you're doing
I buy expensive pen because it feels comfortable. Not necessarily because it can help top draw better.

Is it worth $15 or did it cost $15? /I have this one pen... it's with infinity but it cost free.
I steal ballpoint pens from my uni all the time because I enjoy drawing with them so much
Cheap one would be good for horror cuz of the shading capabilities but lineart is defs the more expensive pen
