xbox shell is more comfortable in the hands, and in the end I value that more. I've had several "Pro" controllers now and spent a long time with them, from different brands and manufacturers, and in the end I keep coming back to the xbox controller because it simply feels better in the hands.
Xbox elite 2 hands down, has a better charging clamshell case, 4 back buttons, magnetic thumb sticks, works on pc perfectly, 35-40hr battery life, can get a usb dongle for pc as well. The only thing that I like on the edge is the swappable joystick modules.. Which is too bad because it’s a nice looking controller.
Ya I feel the same way. I have dualsenses with back buttons and the new razer ps5 controller. Whenever I go back to xbox and use my elite 2 I just say wow everytime. It's just so much more comfortable. I have had mine for 2 years now and no issues. It's an amazing controller. Razer wolverine v2 is close but not quite as comfortable.
I wish I could use elite 2 on ps5😂 then I’d definitely have elite 2 However swappable thumsticks is something to consider although I have never had any stick drift issues
Ergonomically it is, but reliability is so so poor. Had 2 S1 and 2 S2 elites and thumb sticks only lasted 6 months on the S1 (but bumper broke) and 3months on the S2. Would love to see Microsoft step it up and copy the features of the DSE at least with inter-changeable TS modules, and better reliability. Interested to see how the DSE performs / lasts long term.
Didn't try PS5 one, but I have Xbox Elite Series 2, and I am honestly very satisfied it. Feels very comfortable to use, easy to swap between different profiles/setups, battery lasts long and integrates well with the PC so I can just easily plug & play to laptop when I am traveling / away from home.
The Elite also has 3 runtime swappable profiles (and a default). That's not a share button in the middle; it selects between no profile aka default config and the 3 you've configured in the accessories app. Just an FYI.
Haven’t gotten to that point in the video but that doesn’t bode well for how much time he spent with the controller. I figured that out within a couple hours and more fully understood it about an hour later. I thought his iPhone 14 pro max vs S23 ultra was well done and basically they are almost identical and most people will let us know whether price is more important than staying in your “ecosystem”! Samsung phones are “better” till September BUT they are $500 off with a free upgrade to 516gb! It works out to $15-$18 a month CHEAPER for the currently newest phone. I’m on an iPhone by the way and psyching myself up that there’s nothing I can’t give up other than iTunes and I don’t know if android texts and memes and stuff are super intuitive. But I had a note 3 and loved it so know I can relearn it all but it’s been all iPhone since the XS Max and it’s so easy. But the cost difference is enough for me to get a new Galaxy “android” smartwatch with a trade in of my Iwatch 5 AND get the drops and screens coverage for the same price so it’s a new phone AND watch if I can do it.
* @Unexpected They're talking about how many profiles can be on the controller at the same time, without swapping them out in another app. The max amount of profiles that can be stored on the app and not on the controller is 30 for Playstation but 250 (8⅓ times more than PS) for Xbox. 3 profiles at a time can be stored on both controllers themselves.
You forgot that xbox controller can switch to 3 profiles on the fly with the centered black button. I agree with you though elite series. More paddles, 5x-10x the battery life🤯, swappable dpads, custom color options and engraving, rubber grips and overall design!
That’s why it cost more but it’s worth the $120 to get a series 2 controller over again but nothing beats the elite it takes a year or two to get stuck drift but I repair them
My elite 2 controller almost never dies, The battery life is insane. I might pick the pro up down the line when it goes on sale. The duel sense is good enough for me. The elite series 2 hands down.
Who plays wireless in fps games when you want as little much input lag as possible also you can overclock these to true one milli second response time which you can’t with the Xbox I’m a Xbox fan btw but the small back paddles that don’t get in the way are a game changer for me it’s way better than the elite series 2 👍
@@pjjacome1632 I know exactly what you are talking about I use the duel edge little paddles they are nice and not in the way They have been working out will for me very comfortable
Yah I'm loving the dualsense more than my battle beaver, scuf, and my elite.....the half dome Paddles are crazy good I don't ever want to go back to Paddles again.
Honestly one of the better comparison videos I’ve seen. Professional, non-bias, and in depth. Great job! I’d have to agree, the value you get with the Elite is second to none, I will however be picking up a Edge because I’ve been wanting a 1st party PS5 controller for a while. Super excited!
I have both. It’s not an easy pick but overall the elite wins do to more compatibility, longer battery life and 4 paddles in the back. The edge is great on the ps5 but if you want to use on pc you have to pay for DSX which is $5 on steam. I wish the edge would just work on pc out the back because be able to replace the sticks is such a win.
could you explain dsx? my series 2 has stick drift and toast so im buying a duelsense edge but i know compatibility on pc lacks. what does this app do?
@@frontlinegaming503 it let’s you remap all the buttons as if it was a ps5, you can also remap the function buttons as well as change led colors and some other stuff.
DualSense in games which actually come with the full haptic feedback / adaptive triggers support is THE absolute king. Nothing comes even close to that experience, but on PC you can only have those features wired. Talking about Returnal, Hogwarts Legacy, Alan Wake 2, Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, Spider-Man (all 3 games), CP2077 etc
I have both, and there are a lot of aspects that haven't been mentioned, some have been overlooked in the Elite but most of the ones not commented on are in the PS5 one, I'll do a bullet point list with all the info I think it hasn't been compared properly (nearly none of them have even been mention): Elite 2 Controller: - Joystick tension adjustment function - Xbox button color customization - Lacks sixaxis motion control - Four independent vibration motors (2 in triggers, 2 in grip) - Conventional vibration (not haptic), better than normal Xbox controller, more intense than Dualsense - 3.5mm audio jack - Loses record and share video button (converted to profile change button) - Lacks touchpad and adaptive triggers Dualsense Edge Controller: - Briefly mentioned adaptive triggers function - Touchpad not mentioned (also serves as trackpad on computer) - Haptic, high precision vibration (more powerful than normal dualsense, same tecnollogy but MUCH BETTER than Joy-Cons, better precistion than Xbox Élite but less intense) - 6-axis sixaxis motion control - Integrated microphone and speaker - Jack 3.5 - Button for recording and sharing video (same lost in Elite 2) - LED lights with extra information (according to colors or position) Both Controllers: No detail on software configurations or button/joystick layouts in the video Probably I forgot some other stuff on both controllers, but these are the main things that I remembered and noticed it watching the video. The video is well-recorded, and the audio is very good, but in my opinion, content was lacking. Basically, what has been done is to take the controllers and say: Look, you play with this controller like this, and with this other one, in this other way. When you watch the video you can really think the controllers are almost the same when they're not. It focuses on the things that both controllers do almost the same, but it doesn't focus on the differences that make each controller unique. Both are used for playing, but the way of playing and the gaming experience with one and the other are completely different, and although it's mentioned in the video, is not explained. And that should be the main function of the video. I'm mentioning all of this not to imply that one of the controllers it's worse or better, I do it just because it's a comparison. I have both and I like and use both. Thanks for the video! 😀
@@dimension-121 I don't play with it plugged in. But I also don't need more than what it offers. I've had it and been using it since Thursday, I've not seen a low battery notification yet with my usual playing/charging habits
I absolutely love the Elite series 2 controller, but I would never buy it without buying the extended warranty. It definitely has problems with the A and Y buttons with a lot of controllers, but overall I love the design and feel of it with 4 back buttons which I can't live without now. I will always prefer the offset joysticks and I love using a convex stick for my movement stick and the bigger xbox 360 one for my aim stick.
I think the Series 2 is better, but i have a hard time getting used to 4 paddles at once. 2 was all i needed, though 4 would be sweet but it can be overwhelming sometimes, and i misclick occasionally. Not as much as i used to, but it still happens here and there.
HAll Effect sticks might work really bad with haptic feedback. That's the downside of electromagnetic sensors. I think that in order to see that we would need something engineered by Sony itself...
@@elalexkm1028 sure it is, it doesnt require a wire to be connected to the controller to charge. The controller just needs to sit on the doc. Thats how "wireless" charging works.
Why change the joystick mechanisms? You can go into the options to fix like drift issues, and change all sensitivities plus layouts. You also can change it out if you order the kit.
Both are great controllers, but sonys ability to swap out the sticks when stick drift happens is revolutionary, when the elite gets drift you have to buy a whole new controller Where as with the playstations you only have to get a 20 dollar stick module
Elite 2 by far number 1 controller and this is me having both and I do love Sony more including PS5 way more then series x but elite 2 is the king in my opinion 35 hours battery untouchable
Exactly. I also own both consoles but won't be buying the Edge simply because of the abysmal battery life, and they have the nerve to charge £210 for it. Not sure what they were thinking.
@@cun7us i completely agree with you and I always praise Sony but this is a fail in my opinion battery for me personally is a very big deal and I don’t ever play plugged in so The fact they charging 200 for a pathetic 5 hours maybe is a deal breaker for me
Having both consoles and both Pro Controllers. I opt for the Edge controller due to the large set of features integrated into the PS5 along with all the bells & whistles of the Dual Sense. I keep hearing about the battery, but I'm not experiencing any inconvenience charging my controller. What I'm not understanding is that every person complaining about the battery acts as though that's the only thing it has to offer. My Elite has a longer battery life but is essentially the same experience as the standard controller. With all the things that Edge can do, I'd expect the battery to be a lot shorter. If it's the price, just say that instead of complaining about a remedied issue. The Elite has absolutely no features, so why not have a longer battery life.
@@crymsonenigma "The Elite has absolutely no features" - if you going to make huge whopper lies like this then why bother commenting at all? Also, if you think 4-6 hours battery life is acceptable then you're deluded and certainly in the minority.
@cun7us no haptic, no adaptive triggers, no gyro, no speaker, no removable modules, no light tracking....where's the lie? All that with the Pro features to compliment it. My Elite is decent but has nothing to get excited about. That's not to say it's bad, just basic. Battery life plays a very small factor because I have a life outside of gaming all day. 5-8 hours is plenty of time to place it on the charger or plug it in. What am I doing with a controller where I'll need a 40-hour battery life?
I'm more biased towards Playstation. I grew up playing those consoles and never really had much interest in Xbox. I always liked their controllers, though I do admit the Dualshock 3 was kind of rough. I still like the parallel stick placement for Playstation controllers more than Xbox. The Dualsense is easily hands down the best Playstation controller. It's so comfortable in the hands, the haptic feedback and adaptive controllers is amazing for games that utilize it. The Edge is that controller but better. Obviously having mappable paddles on the back is great. Being able to change out thumbsticks and replace the entire thumbstick modules is a fantastic feature. Customizable triggers are also a great addition. But what kills it is that battery life and the fact that it cost more than the Xbox Elite 2. Only 2 paddles doesn't bother me too much, but there's no reason they couldn't have had 4, especially for that asking price. Even if I don't normally care for Xbox controllers the Elite 2 is an amazing controller. I have one that I use for my PC and it's beyond comfy to hold in the hands. All the bells and whistles are also a nice addition, 4 paddles, changeable thumbstick and Dpad, custom triggers. Probably my favorite Xbox controller. And that battery that just refuses to die. I think what we need is a controller that combines the best of both worlds. Being able to fully change out the thumbstick and switch the Dpad, better battery life, 4 paddles with different types.
The thing is that you get the adaptive triggers, the haptic feedback as well as the trackpad, as well as the mic and speaker from the dualsense, but with « pro » stuff
What makes the dualsense edge better is just the fact that the dualsense controller by itself has features in it that make it feel much more next-gen even though I love the Xbox controller layout and the four paddles of the elites once you use the adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, and the little speaker all at once in games like rift apart and ghost of tsushima its genuinely impressive.
One vs one , Xbox has the better controller but the edge has swappable modules on the joysticks, the money is important with the inflation at 3%+ u gunna need to buy new controllers left and right with the series 1 and 2 vs the edge for stick drift
after 20 years of Xbox I switched to PS EDGE a week ago and it’s fucked how big of a difference it makes. Overclocking it has me feeling like I’m finally able to play the game how it’s supposed to feel
I love the Xbox Elite controller except for two things, 1. It makes my hand sweat a lot, and 2. gets stick drift after just a few weeks. But I noticed that after you adjust your deadzone it goes away. Xbox wins in my opinion.
You just adjust your dead zone it goes away lol boy gonna be playing on 15 deazone 😭 wondering why his aim sucks 170$ dollars down the drain ps5 better
@@Perks620 ain’t any controller sage from dead zone goofy ps5 ain’t resistant to getting deadzone. The edge controller is shit $200 for bad material and features. Can you adjust the tension no, new material no,
@@ThatCrippledGuy_ you can and it gets stick drift but you can fix it instead of having to adjust settings and being ass or just getting a new controller bum
The battery life on the edge is a huge bummer. Definitely kills the hype for me. Especially when compared to the stellar battery life on the elite 2. PS has to improve that with a 2nd edition soon... Sheesh. Disappointing as the Dualsense is my favorite controller right now, but the battery has needed an upgrade since launch. Still hasnt happened. Also, bro, you gotta upgrade your audio setup. It's literally the one thing about your channel that I feel needs to improve. It's just too distorted. Other than that, love your stuff.
Stellar battery life doesn’t fix analog sticks when they go bad. I went through 5 elites all left thumb stick in less than a year playing cod mainly and I’m a casual player. The sticks are TRASH 🗑. Microsoft was in a class action lawsuit over these controllers because they continued selling them knowing stick drift was happening more then normal. Can you swap modules on the series 2 if/when the stick goes bad due to deterioration? Does the series 2 have haptic feedback? Does the series 2 have a speaker so u don’t even need a headset to quickly chat? The answer to all of these is NO but you’ll have that stellar battery 🔋 life for a controller that will be useless in a month or 2 cause of bad drift so what good is the stellar battery life then?
@@Mega6327 if ur buying a pro controller haptic feedback is the last thing you should care about in fact you may want to disable that if ur playing competitively, the speaker/mic on the controller is nice I used it on my DualSense but you should use that in a bind otherwise a headset is a must have so it’s just a gimmick really. We don’t know the reliability of the Edge yet as it just came out and based on how the joysticks are replaceable I’m willing to bet they have a really short life span mark my word. Sony has thought this through. Trust me they’re not going to be out there manufacturing these replaceable joysticks if they didn’t think they can sell a lot of them lol. Give it time my friend. The elite 2 is a much more premium feeling controller with a little more ruggedness than the Edge believe me the Edge with its plasticky $70 build will deteriorate quickly as well. Good luck
@@DeanT1987 Lol the series 2 was in a class action lawsuit over these faulty controllers I wonder why? Were they truly that bad that Microsoft continued selling them knowing they were faulty to get into a lawsuit? The answer to that is yes. I do disable haptic for games like Cod but what about the rest of the games where haptic is a really cool feature? I don’t need a headset they just a pain on my ears and head I can hear everything fine on speakers and rarely sit and talk while I play anyways. Yes I know the speaker isn’t as good on controller as headphones but to say a few words here and there is enough for me. So the durability on the edge your worried about? what about the durability of the series 2 I went through 5 in less then a year all left stick drift. Those sound really durable don’t they? One I went through in a week and I’m a casual player so obviously the “durability” on those are complete Trash 🗑 Also what is the elite controller made of last time I checked it was plastic also. What is the elite made from steel? Every controller is made from plastic can you name some controllers that aren’t made with any plastic? 🤡
@@Mega6327 I’m not denying QC issues with the Elite Series 2 I know they’re not reliable and I never said they were I also did not compare the reliability of both I just simply stated that it’s too soon yet to know what issues the Edge has right now that’s why I said to give it time. Build quality on the Edge is not that much different than the regular dual sense is what I was getting at. I’ve had the both of them in my hand and the Elite two definitely feels more premium, it feels tougher, material feels softer (rubbery) heavier it’s all perceived quality but it’s a better first impression I held both in my hands and when I squeeze the edges handles together I can hear squeaking where as the elite I don’t it’s just a tougher built controller. Haptics are just ok. They’re not very beneficial outside of astros playroom most of the controllers features are very gimmicky. It’s cool for about a day I was impressed with it in Astros and then every other game barely uses it or they don’t use it in an adequate way. Headphones are also more useful than the little speaker especially cod or something so you can hear foot steps etc on those late night sessions. Idk man it’s nice to have these feature but overall it’s not something that truly changes ur gaming experience. All of that is useless to when it drains ur battery in 4 hours and ur plugging in your wireless kinda defeats the whole purpose of “wireless”. I’d be upset if my iPhone last 4-5 hours only and apple just told me to plug it in
The four paddles are there to basically replace the entirity of the face buttons so you don't have to remove your thumb from the thumbstick during more intense shooters like Apex, it allows you to be able to jump and reload as well as do the context actions all without having to stop your movements of your thumb. Where as most people WOULD only need just the two buttons, you can use them for a lot of things, like in fighting games you can tie them to multiple buttons to get better grip of things etc. Funnily enough I WANT the Edge, but the features I want the edge for wouldn't really work on pc. (Gyro while wireless which doesn't exist for any dualsense controller) So it not having four paddles also kind of is a negative. Another benefit is the ability to fully customize the xbox controller. Where as sony might? But most likely won't, offer the customizing design lab stuff.
You use 3. The 2 on the left and the long one on the right. Because of the paddles you hold the controller differently to a regular one and the small one on the right is hard to reach as a result.
Yup I use all 4 while playing games like Warzonr and Halo. Its very useful once you get used to it you would never want to take your thumb off the right stick again. Its very comfortable when you get used to it
Wish there's an easy joystick replace like in Edge because my Elite joystick just get a stick dift after 3 Months, and now I am regret from buying it, and the way to replace it almost impossible for me.
People say battery life and controller wise the Xbox. Elite better but theses people don’t care or never owned it for more then a month , every 3 weeks the elite controller has stuck drift u spend $200-250 on the materials $125 is the elite series 2 but you spend $200 for the elite series case and triggers and swappable thumb sticks but the idiots forgot to make it Module to be swappable , $129 a month is $1,548 u spend a month 12 months on replacement of the whole controller then a $20 replacement of the module swappable as the edge that’s $240 a year your saving 1308 a year going to pS5 and the edge controller screw battery life charge your crap and deal with it lots of whiners
even tough they are different "pro" controllers it's nice to see this kind of comparison because both are expensive AF and it gives u more perspective which one would u want to get..
I’m got mine and I was kind of pissed the battery was less than the standard dual sense. I’m pretty sure I can’t even send it back to the ps store (I have not tried )

@@Shinobi33 That isn't what "build quality" means (to the both of you who commented). Build quality means the product will either last longer or shorter. In that regards, the build quality on the Elite controller is actually quite bad, compared to most other controllers out there (not just the DSE controller). I think it’s not fair to compare. Because elite series 2 is already over a year old. Almost 2. But it’s still is superior to PS5 dual sense pro. The one thing I like about the PS DSP I’d the swapping on the thumb sticks modules. Once they get stick drift
How is it superior? Not taking into account the stick layout which is subjective and battery life, which isn't comparable when taking into account the amount of tech in the edge that isn't present in the elite.
@@aaronsmith7143 battery life is simply superior, most people getting these type of controllers are looking for the functionality not the rumble and other gimmicks of the p5 controller. I had bought the Dual Sense Edge back when it launched and returned it I have since repurchased it as I do now play COD more often with a friend on PS5 and I think it’s definitely grown on me but I still feel like the Elite Series 2 has an edge in feel, and customization. I find I have much better games on XSX because of the controller and I think it’s because I have the stick tensions changed to my preference, the asymmetrical sticks help me, the shorter trigger travel helps and the extra two paddles make me faster overall. Of course the battery life is a huge plus too. If I had to choose between the 2 the Elite Series 2 is my go two hands down but when playing on PS5 I def prefer the Edge over the regular DS they really just need to drop the price on it especially with that battery life.
First of all thanks for comparison I have been searching for a while such video. 8:45 I am not understand such complain, you can change a button and put R2 to new R(b) back button and shoot all your enemies very fast as a mouse click. And on the R2 you can reassign another button and action. I did it for CoD and you have get use to it, but you actions is instantly.
The Elite Series is better in almost every aspect and is by far the best professional gaming controller out there. It is original , unique , comfortable , durable , cheaper , better materials and looks better not to mention it came out years before the dual sense edge meaning it didn’t have the technology we have today. The fact it still competes and wins even though it isn’t current technology is amazing
You said it’s better in almost every aspect however you can’t use comfortable when they’re basically the same and original certainly goes to dualsense edge due do it many features and the fact you said that when it’s basically a normal scuff is insane. It ain’t unique either which basically just means original.
So I had the elite 2 and I switched it to the PS5 controller because from everything I looked up the latency was infinitely better on the PS5 controller for the PC. That is my understanding and that's why I went that route.
Try winning the one of the intense GOW battle, after a win whichever controller gives you less fatigue is the one that works for you. For me personally Xbox elite2 is the one more ergonomic and is a preference.

Crazy how EVERY SINGLE Sony pony brings up how default xbox controllers come with batteries but not once has one mentioned how the 1 xbox controller who comes with a rechargeable battery and it lasts 8 times longer than and Playstation controller 🤣🤣🤣
@Sinncere06 the mic that sounds like you're trying to talk to me through a can while under water? Haptic feedback is just a fancy word for the vibration intensity to change while you play. So amazing. Don't get me wrong though the adaptive triggers are cool. But that's not enough to justify the horrible battery life.
I did not know you could customize the xbox elite controller now. I bought like 3 series 2s back in the day that all had to be returned because they had issues with the shoulder buttons and/or face buttons giving me double inputs or generally being wonky. I was thinking of getting the dualsense edge just because I didn't want to go back to the elite controller. I might give xbox another chance just because I would LOVE a light pink controller and the controller did feel amazing the couple days I could use them before they'd break, but that would really suck if it's defective and I can't return it.
@@TheSparkynuts I saw that. I looked into it more and it completely turned me off of the controller. People are still reporting the exact same issues I had with the shoulder and face buttons specifically. If I didn't know better I'd think they just did nothing about it and said they improved it. EDIT: Just wanted to add, I have NOT adjusted the stick tension on my controller at all as I've heard that can cause it to have problems. I think if you avoid doing that it should be fine.
@@MajorPickleSwag I'm not sure exactly how the warranty works for custom controllers. They say you can't "return" them, but they also make it sound like you can still get a replacement? The change to a free one-year warranty and the extended warranty option seems pretty nice. I do see a reddit thread from 3 months ago with someone saying they won't give you the extended warranty option for design labs controllers though. Honestly, I really don't want to even go through the hassle of having a dud controller again, especially if I'm not able to get a refund like last time and just stuck getting a bunch of new broken controllers. I'm living on a college campus without transportation so I wouldn't have an easy way to send the controller back. I really can't understand how Microsoft has this many issues with their controllers. I've seen countless threads of people who have tried half a dozen controllers and not gotten a working one. Must be some kind of systemic issues where entire batches of controllers get sent out broken.
@@ryan74458 Just get the regular black one again through best buy and buy the extended warranty then. Or just wait for a potential elite series 3 later this year or early next year.
Xbox Elite 2 is the winner, you can change the Dpad, you have 4 rear paddles, the sticks are aluminum and magnetic, and the battery lasts 40 hours, it's also cheaper and you can customize the color 🥵
I don’t see why people care so much about the battery life on the PS5 pro controller; it is meant to stay plugged in for faster response time. And if it lasts for 4-5 hours that’s plenty of time, you should be taking a break anyway to go outside 😂 my main complaint is how it only has 2 back buttons instead of 4 like the Xbox elite 2
200 for what is essentially a wired controller is horrid, 4.5hrs then you have to charge it, while the elite 2 you can leave it and come back for like a week without charging.
Let's be real, $200 is standard in the Pro Controller market. It just seems like a bunch of casuals are chiming in just to say something. This is not meant for the average gamer.
Even though the duel sense controller has more tech inside the controller haptic feed in the controller elite uses rumblw from like 20 years ago that is why the battery last longer
@@DribbleP they did a good job with the duel sense but the Xbox controller have always been great the feel is amazing you don’t need to change something that is great. Xbox have been doing some great things and PlayStation are trying to catch up.
@@DribbleP the DualSense rumble is better but 4-6 hours battery life is abysmal. They chose to compromise by putting in a smaller battery to fit other components and it backfired. People are already complaining about it.
I got both and i have to say DSE feels way more premium compared to cheap feeling of Elite 2. I do not understand why they cut 2 back pedals though. If DSE had the 4 it would be no competition
I had a 25€ steam controller and it is beyond me, how the Xbox Elite, which costs 5-6times as much, doesn't have a gyro built in. Best controller my foot.
Well to be absolutely objective and thorough, regardless of “features” build quality of PS controllers is better, they have the least input lag and better polling rate, the best analog stick accuracy with the best lifespan to precision ratio, PS5 controllers are superior in every single way to Xbox, they are also much more serviceable and mod friendly, idk if you prefer Xbox because of the form factor that’s fine but if you are a competitive player it’s a no brainer. Plus you can’t overclock Xbox controllers and if you don’t overclock or know about it then yea stay Xbox. Also who TF needs 4 back paddles unless You’re a Ximer or Cronus user ? Good players use 1-2 paddles at most and we play claw TF? Also battery life nobody cares about it except for dads in their living rooms, the real “pro” controller should always be wired anyways.
In reality Dualsense Edge can go from 100% to 0% in 3-4 hours (even without vibration), while Elite Series 2 can give you up to 60-65 hours with no vibration and with dimmed xbox logo lights
Both deserve to be a lot better than they actually are. Xbox has a better physical design, whereas PS has better features and overall performance. But neither are durable enough to survive multiple years of use, and before anyone says "I'm talking nonsense", all it takes is a simple Google search to unravel the multitude of problems enountered by those who have bought either of these controllers.
I will definitely be buying the Sony Dualsense Edge I feel like it's the best option for Playstation and PC It's got a lot more options than the Xbox controller does. I also really love the back paddle options on the Dualsense better.
@alexc4397 xbox more comfortable to me also I think they're referring to the dualsense features as well which in the case it would be more features but 4 back paddles and the charging block is a definite go for me
@@Y2KJake comfortability is something that takes time of course if you're using only one controller most of the time it will feel off playing a new one but if you take time with it you will get used to the new ones and possibly enjoy them more
My only complaint on the ps5 controller are the thumb-sticks, they’re too short and they don’t offer a longer one, so I ended up living the originals ones and put some aftermarket red inferno thumbs-ticks to get the height I want, which is not a big deal but when you’re paying $200 you expect to have that already, I never had the elite, but they seem longer and better, the reason I’m still using the ps5 one, is because I can overclocked on pc to have 0 ms input lag and the other reason are for the haptic feedback in story games like spiderman, god of war etc….. so for me that’s a plus, oh and I almost forgot about the thumb-sticks modules that is changeable for only $20, so you don’t have to buy another controller when you start having drift l, that’s something to think about it, on the battery life, I have nothing to say, because I always use my controllers with the cable plug in anyways to have a lower input lag specially if you overclocked.
Elite Series 2 quality is absolutely horrendous. ABXY buttom not being registered is such a huge issue and despite sending it for replacement, I get the same issue again.
Xbox has had an elite controller for over 6 years. Sony made its first generation elite controller. Give Sony a few years and they will catch up or be better. Xbox standard controllers having double a battery option is handy when rechargeable is dead
See I don’t want to leave right thumbstick when I reload or swap weapons in cod but it’s not possible with edge although I bought one since I don’t want a scuf for their poor quality I don’t know wtf Sony was thinking “let’s launch a pro controller with 2 back buttons” when everyone else is offering 4 Couldn’t care less about battery since it’s always plugged in
The elite 2 blows the dual nonsense edge completely out of this world… Not to mention he didn’t even mention the elite controller can adjust the tension for the sticks?????????
I was originally all for the ps5 pro but I just built a bulls theme Xbox series 2 controller and the fact that it lasts 40 hours, and has wireless charging has really won me over. The battery life is everything and we can customize the Xbox light. Ps5 controller seems limited for what I’m wanting to see
I don't game for more than a couple hours at the time, I have ish to do! Lol... plus I don't play Xbox, the one I've got (series S) just been sitting for months now. The price point for the Xbox controller is good, but it also seems like you get what you pay for with the magnets and such. Doesn't seem like it's durable for heavy handed people. The blocky design of Xbox controllers has always seemed more comfortable though.
Which controller would you pick?
xbox shell is more comfortable in the hands, and in the end I value that more.
Xbox Elite!
Xbox 💯
Both for free 😂.. I like them both but it’s easy for me to pick the Elite just on battery life and added functionality
Man in my personal opinion, the Xbox Controller is the perfect gaming controller.
Same here
Yep
Ya I feel the same way. I have dualsenses with back buttons and the new razer ps5 controller. Whenever I go back to xbox and use my elite 2 I just say wow everytime. It's just so much more comfortable. I have had mine for 2 years now and no issues. It's an amazing controller. Razer wolverine v2 is close but not quite as comfortable.
I wish I could use elite 2 on ps5😂 then I’d definitely have elite 2
However swappable thumsticks is something to consider although I have never had any stick drift issues
Didnt even mention the adjustable tension in the elite 2 controller joystick.
Did he mention the trigger stops too?

I'm on my 3rd broken elite series 2 with the god awful unresponsive RB bumper. Shit is ridiculous.
Playstation has 20 or 30 profiles
* @Unexpected They're talking about how many profiles can be on the controller at the same time, without swapping them out in another app. The max amount of profiles that can be stored on the app and not on the controller is 30 for Playstation but 250 (8⅓ times more than PS) for Xbox. 3 profiles at a time can be stored on both controllers themselves.

What games will you be playing with it
I have both.

Didnt mention that you can change the analog stick tension on the xbox elite remote, makes them alil stiffer than the. Original remote
I have both, and there are a lot of aspects that haven't been mentioned, some have been overlooked in the Elite but most of the ones not commented on are in the PS5 one, I'll do a bullet point list with all the info I think it hasn't been compared properly (nearly none of them have even been mention):
Elite 2 Controller:
- Joystick tension adjustment function
- Xbox button color customization
- Lacks sixaxis motion control
- Four independent vibration motors (2 in triggers, 2 in grip)
- Conventional vibration (not haptic), better than normal Xbox controller, more intense than Dualsense
- 3.5mm audio jack
- Loses record and share video button (converted to profile change button)
- Lacks touchpad and adaptive triggers
Dualsense Edge Controller:
- Briefly mentioned adaptive triggers function
- Touchpad not mentioned (also serves as trackpad on computer)
- Haptic, high precision vibration (more powerful than normal dualsense, same tecnollogy but MUCH BETTER than Joy-Cons, better precistion than Xbox Élite but less intense)
- 6-axis sixaxis motion control
- Integrated microphone and speaker
- Jack 3.5
- Button for recording and sharing video (same lost in Elite 2)
- LED lights with extra information (according to colors or position)
Both Controllers:
No detail on software configurations or button/joystick layouts in the video
Probably I forgot some other stuff on both controllers, but these are the main things that I remembered and noticed it watching the video.

Elite pad is garbage. The A button is not recognized.
Cant you just clean the a and y buttons with isopropyl. With the analog they are tricky to fix...

Do you think aftermarket hall effects will be made for the Duelsense Edge? If they work, I'll definitely pick that over the Elite controller. 😌👍
HAll Effect sticks might work really bad with haptic feedback. That's the downside of electromagnetic sensors. I think that in order to see that we would need something engineered by Sony itself...
Also a firm is already making Hall effect sensor for the edge so there is that
Thanks, both of you. 😌👍
Hoping a battery replacement with longer hours as well

It's not wireless charging
@@elalexkm1028 sure it is, it doesnt require a wire to be connected to the controller to charge. The controller just needs to sit on the doc. Thats how "wireless" charging works.

Why change the joystick mechanisms? You can go into the options to fix like drift issues, and change all sensitivities plus layouts. You also can change it out if you order the kit.
It has hall joysticks if I’m correct meaning it can’t get drift so there’s not much of a reason to remove them
Y'all are silly dude. They drift so fast. "Fixing" it in the settings just makes your controller less sensitive. Silly how dumb y'all are.

@@cun7us i completely agree with you and I always praise Sony but this is a fail in my opinion battery for me personally is a very big deal and I don’t ever play plugged in so
The fact they charging 200 for a pathetic 5 hours maybe is a deal breaker for me
Having both consoles and both Pro Controllers.
Just got one today, the dual sense edge, man. The case is extremely high quality.
The thing is that you get the adaptive triggers, the haptic feedback as well as the trackpad, as well as the mic and speaker from the dualsense, but with « pro » stuff
will you do a A30 review? Im curious to hear your thoughts on astros newest wireless headset.
So far the only downside to the Edge is battery life and only 2 paddles. Am I right?

Stellar battery life doesn’t fix analog sticks when they go bad. I went through 5 elites all left thumb stick in less than a year playing cod mainly and I’m a casual player. The sticks are TRASH 🗑. Microsoft was in a class action lawsuit over these controllers because they continued selling them knowing stick drift was happening more then normal. Can you swap modules on the series 2 if/when the stick goes bad due to deterioration? Does the series 2 have haptic feedback? Does the series 2 have a speaker so u don’t even need a headset to quickly chat? The answer to all of these is NO but you’ll have that stellar battery 🔋 life for a controller that will be useless in a month or 2 cause of bad drift so what good is the stellar battery life then?
battery life is crazy good on the elite; I play like an hour or 2 a day and can get near a month without having to charge the thing!

Idk man it’s nice to have these feature but overall it’s not something that truly changes ur gaming experience. All of that is useless to when it drains ur battery in 4 hours and ur plugging in your wireless kinda defeats the whole purpose of “wireless”. Just curious, if my elite series 2 get's stick drift, can the thumbstick tension adjuster fix it?
Just got into the controller menu on the console and lower the stick sensitivity if that happens.worked for me.
I have a question for people who want 4 paddles ? Do you really use all 4 during gameplay ? If at all
The four paddles are there to basically replace the entirity of the face buttons so you don't have to remove your thumb from the thumbstick during more intense shooters like Apex, it allows you to be able to jump and reload as well as do the context actions all without having to stop your movements of your thumb.
Where as most people WOULD only need just the two buttons, you can use them for a lot of things, like in fighting games you can tie them to multiple buttons to get better grip of things etc.
Funnily enough I WANT the Edge, but the features I want the edge for wouldn't really work on pc. (Gyro while wireless which doesn't exist for any dualsense controller)
So it not having four paddles also kind of is a negative.
Another benefit is the ability to fully customize the xbox controller. Where as sony might? But most likely won't, offer the customizing design lab stuff.
I had 4 paddles on my ps4 scuf and only used 2 lol 4 paddles is overkill
Its very comfortable when you get used to it
YES. 100% I map the top ones to be LB and RB and the bottom ones for LS and RS.
Wish there's an easy joystick replace like in Edge because my Elite joystick just get a stick dift after 3 Months, and now I am regret from buying it, and the way to replace it almost impossible for me.

Elite better but theses people don’t care or never owned it for more then a month , every 3 weeks the elite controller has stuck drift u spend $200-250 on the materials $125 is the elite series 2 but you spend $200 for the elite series case and triggers and swappable thumb sticks but the idiots forgot to make it Module to be swappable , $129 a month is $1,548 u spend a month 12 months on replacement of the whole controller then a $20 replacement of the module swappable as the edge that’s $240 a year your saving 1308 a year going to pS5 and the edge controller screw battery life charge your crap and deal with it lots of whiners
if dual sense edge had volcanic red. ill buy it.
Heyo @boredatwork great video!, wondering what color grading/luts you use or what camera? I like how contrasty/saturated your video looks 🤔
Hey man thanks. I believe I use pp1 setting on the camera Sony A7SIII
Nice video man, ince inflated with the dual sense I gotta have that haptic and the tension I can't be without it now. Ps for me
The Ps5 dpad isn't meant to be swappable. Its design is great but would be awkward for switching.
even tough they are different "pro" controllers it's nice to see this kind of comparison because both are expensive AF and it gives u more perspective which one would u want to get..
I’m got mine and I was kind of pissed the battery was less than the standard dual sense. I’m pretty sure I can’t even send it back to the ps store (I have not tried )
If you opened the box unless there was something faulty they would not return for change of mind
However this isn’t an issue for me since you can plug it in all the time with the long cable
My issue is that I wish it had 4 back buttons

I hear you with the back buttons. after the elite and steam deck for myself. Two buttons throws me off
I want the elites concave thumbsticks on the Edge
As a Xbox Fanboy I can truly say the PlayStation dual edge controllers fire... But guess what people this is going to push Microsoft to come out with at least series 3 controller that's going to make it probably the greatest control that we ever witnessed in any generation can't wait to see that elite series 3 baby
Yeah, I heard the Elite 3 is in the works. Or could be announced soon.
God I wish, put some hall sensors/swappable/reliable thumbsticks on the elite and it's perfect for me
I can’t wait the elite series 3 gunna look like the edge but with 4 paddles like that
Can you test if the Xbox back paddles fit on the PS5 Edge?
Of course they don't u tit

The elite series 3 gunna look sick it’s gunna look like the dual sense edge as a xbox controller just with 4 pushable buttons instead of paddles
Lol it's not even a contest ! Xbox has the better stick layout, feel, price, battery and anyone who can even defend the PS5 controller being better in every way is completely out of their minds
The elite series 2 feels a lot more premium and has better battery life.
You stole the words right out of my mouth. Superior build quality and more premium features at a cheaper price. No brainer really
@@Shinobi33 That isn't what "build quality" means (to the both of you who commented). Build quality means the product will either last longer or shorter. In that regards, the build quality on the Elite controller is actually quite bad, compared to most other controllers out there (not just the DSE controller).
The Elite controller is a good controller, but it is far from being "premium" or "superior", in terms of build quality. 🤷♂️
@@KingDeadMan the metal finish, magnets , the way it charges, a changeable D-Pad, ability to customize the resistance on the thumbsticks, etc. They put more money, time, energy, effort, and premium care into making it. @@Shinobi33 Regardless of having a "metal finish", or a "changeable d-pad", there are more complaints about this model breaking than others, that is not good build quality. You still seem to not know what build quality is, and is substituting it with "features" & "care". 🤡
Feature wise, the Elite has more, however, that is separate from build quality.

I play at a desk so the DualSense edge wouldn’t be that bad especially being wired for better response time. Also, PlayStation Future proofed their controller for sure. Also I know I’m not the only person that doesn’t like the 4 paddles but comfortable with only 2
I think it’s not fair to compare.
I think I'll wait for the Elite series 3 or an immersive controller of Xbox
What’s the name of that color on design lab?
Great review ❤
You didn’t mention adjustable thumb stick tension on the Xbox controller
Elite’s crazy long battery charge and adjustable tension on the thumbsticks make it a no brainer for me. Elite 2 all day!!
The duelsense is almost perfect. The lack of magnetic sticks and battery life are a huge downside.
had a ps4 forever. finally 2 years ago got a ps5. and got the duelsense and it's fire the built in mic is a feature all controllers should have. this past xmas I got a series X from Walmart for 350$ crazy deal n yesterday from. Facebook market got a adult owned elite 2 for 69 bucks. no lie. life is lit
Crazy how EVERY SINGLE Sony pony brings up how default xbox controllers come with batteries but not once has one mentioned how the 1 xbox controller who comes with a rechargeable battery and it lasts 8 times longer than and Playstation controller 🤣🤣🤣
The PlayStation controller does more than the Xbox controller. Haptic feedback, built in mic powering the built in lights and trackpad.
@@Sinncere06Just because it does more, doesn't excuse its garbage battery life.
@@ryanpost1446 the mic isn’t that bad. I’ve never had or heard anyone that I know or game with complain about it.

Anyone tried to fit the ps5 back paddels on xbox controller? Do they fit?
I did not know you could customize the xbox elite controller now. I bought like 3 series 2s back in the day that all had to be returned because they had issues with the shoulder buttons and/or face buttons giving me double inputs or generally being wonky. I was thinking of getting the dualsense edge just because I didn't want to go back to the elite controller. I might give xbox another chance just because I would LOVE a light pink controller and the controller did feel amazing the couple days I could use them before they'd break, but that would really suck if it's defective and I can't return it.
They said they improved the durability of the new elite controllers but I would do some research to be sure
@@TheSparkynuts I saw that. I looked into it more and it completely turned me off of the controller. People are still reporting the exact same issues I had with the shoulder and face buttons specifically. If I didn't know better I'd think they just did nothing about it and said they improved it. They would NEVER do that though..
Guess I'll wait and see if the sony controller has the same quality control issues crop up.
@@ryan74458 I've had mine for a while and it's been working great thankfully. I was also warned about the quality issues before I bought it, but found out you can buy an extended 3 year warranty directly through microsoft for $20 in case anything happens. I ended up doing that, but hopefully I never have to send mine in.
Cant wait for your review on Razer Edge!
I watch quite a few of your comparison videos and you don't mention build quality in any of them that would be a nice feature
One thing that the PlayStation controller has a connects to the better Consul
There is nothing to even compare here, the Xbox Elite controller is better in all respects. Sony got drunk and released a piece of crap for 250 bucks.
I don’t see why people care so much about the battery life on the PS5 pro controller; it is meant to stay plugged in for faster response time. And if it lasts for 4-5 hours that’s plenty of time, you should be taking a break anyway to go outside 😂 my main complaint is how it only has 2 back buttons instead of 4 like the Xbox elite 2
for this price point there shouldn't be any compromises, this is a very lazy part on sony's end.
@@1EnZBosS1 I agree
Dualsense controllers only use a 250hz polling rate. There is no such thing as low latency on consoles even when using a wired connection.
PlayStation took another L on this. Xbox looks better and it’s battery is way longer.
Even though the duel sense controller has more tech inside the controller haptic feed in the controller elite uses rumblw from like 20 years ago that is why the battery last longer
No playstation is better

@@sotorc1448 I think things could change if the Edge starts working properly on PC. For now, it's not, and so the Elite is more versatile.
@@Calibretto9 what's the point of owning a PC and using a PlayStation product??
Well to be absolutely objective and thorough, regardless of “features” build quality of PS controllers is better, they have the least input lag and better polling rate, the best analog stick accuracy with the best lifespan to precision ratio, PS5 controllers are superior in every single way to Xbox, they are also much more serviceable and mod friendly, idk if you prefer Xbox because of the form factor that’s fine but if you are a competitive player it’s a no brainer.
Plus you can’t overclock Xbox controllers and if you don’t overclock or know about it then yea stay Xbox. Also who TF needs 4 back paddles unless
You’re a Ximer or Cronus user ? Good players use 1-2 paddles at most and we play claw TF? Also battery life nobody cares about it except for dads in their living rooms, the real “pro” controller should always be wired anyways.

The Sony Pony has spoken 😂

Depends on what your use to playing ps for me spent time on it when younger and 25 years later still got it
In reality Dualsense Edge can go from 100% to 0% in 3-4 hours (even without vibration), while Elite Series 2 can give you up to 60-65 hours with no vibration and with dimmed xbox logo lights

My thumbs cramp up on a scuf fps controller. My hands never have an issue with my elite series 2. My vote is for the elite series 2 in that case.
See I don’t want to leave right thumbstick when I reload or swap weapons in cod but it’s not possible with edge although I bought one since I don’t want a scuf for their poor quality
I don’t know wtf Sony was thinking “let’s launch a pro controller with 2 back buttons” when everyone else is offering 4

Battery life is literally the opposite of everything because we have a charger, the ps5 features within the controller are what is everything
I don't game for more than a couple hours at the time, I have ish to do! Lol... plus I don't play Xbox, the one I've got (series S) just been sitting for months now.
