Very exciting Bill! I have also wanted to own a Tacoma for many years. Decided that the time was now while I could still get the solid and proven Tacoma before the re-design. Enjoy!!
I truly appreciate your support Chris🙌 The Mickeys seems to be Awesome! So far in snow, dirt and on road, I am happy with them. They do have a few quirks however.
Hey man, I found your channel about three weeks after I ordered my Tacoma! I picked it up four days ago! I’m already in love! Same year, color, and model package, except mine is the four door. Freaking twins! I ordered the factory/dealer warranty and installed 2” leveling kit with TRD Pro Grille package. The feel and handling is phenomenal!!! And looks good too! Not too tall looking like kook…. However, it’s so fresh and perfect I cringe when a rock kicks up or even a bug hits it! How you took your rig straight into wilds is commending!! Haha! Thanks for your channel! Eagerly looking forward to more! Seriously! Sean
When I started looking for a 23 Tacoma. I was very specific on what I wanted. I was looking for either a Barcelona Red (I LOVE Red vehicles), White or Lunar Rock. It had to be a Double Cab, 6’ bed and a TRD Off Road. I never found exactly what I was looking for in 23, but on 2/29/24 I found my White TRD. It was a loaner truck from the dealership and had only 6K miles. It booked for $51,844 and I bought it for $48K. The dealership had already installed a Tri-Fold hard tonneau cover and running boards. The first week of ownership I installed a K&N cold air intake, mud flaps, window vents. Next was a Flowmaster FlowFX turn down exhaust system so the engine can breathe easier giving it a Deep, Throaty sound without the drone at highway speeds. I’ve installed a few TRD Red trim pieces in the interior. I had Katzkin make TRD Red Leather seat covers with black trim and stitching (to match the black interior). After they removed the factory black leather seat covers and replaced them with the TRD Red Leather, I sold the black leather to a friend who owns a 23 Tacoma with grey cloth interior. Next I had my truck 2 toned in Barcelona Red metallic, following the body lines of the exterior sheet metal. I’m thinking of buying a set of Bronze colored wheels for my Tacoma. I think it’ll really set it off up against the Barcelona Red and White. I’m Love the Overland Torque Tune (OTT), as it allows the torque to kick in at just 2K RPM instead of the factory setting of 3,600 RPMs. The OTT also STOPS the transmission from “hunting” for the right gears. I’ll keep driving on the factory tires until they need replacement and then I’ll buy a set of Faulken Wildpeaks, as I / we do some off roading on Forest and Logging roads. We live in a very mountainous area of north central Washington state, 5 miles from town on a private road that we have to plow and maintain ourselves. We get 5-7 feet of snow every winter so I need a great A/T tire that is snow peak rated. If you have any suggestions about any mods you did with your Tacoma, please let me know. Cheers !
Looks awesome. Great choice. the +5mm offset and the one size larger Mickey Thompson A/T’s give it that look most are looking for. Hopefully it won’t hit your MPG’s too much. Maybe -1MPG. I’m considering the Matt black or bronze wheels for my 2020 TRD Sport 4x4. You just need some aftermarket mud flaps or rock sliders to keep the crap off the side of your truck.
Is your truck lifted. I was wondering if you went up 1 tire size without a lift and you have no rubbing. I have the same truck same color but a short bed.
Finding a 2023 tacoma trd off road access cab Lunar Rock....like "gode prospectin" buuuut..... kept diggin found one 12 hours away trailered it home now the fun begins. Really enjoy your videos. What would your mud guard/flap and lift recommendations be? Thanks keep up the awesome and a half work. 👏
Absolutely love the wheel and tire setup. Those 4 runner pro wheels in bronze are fantastic and best of all no need to change out wheel studs since they use the Toyota OEM ET style lugnuts. Do some research on the center cap replacements. Have heard in certain aftermarket wheels will not accept the Toyota OEM center caps. Also to coordinate those bronze wheels - get the Trail Edition front grille which has bronze TOYOTA letters written across the front.
looks great. i'm working on a similar setup for my 2010 I just purchased last month. was able to find the wheels for 205 each shipped by a toyota dealer on black friday. went with hancook dynapro extreme a/t2 for tires as I live in NY with a lot of snow. love the content. if you realize something you are doing works for 2nd gen you could open your audience up even more! I'm here for it regardless. Cheers !
I have a 23 DCSB in Lunar rock with the same wheels in matte black but the factory version off a trd pro 4 runner. Probably going to get the same tires but stuck between the Baja boss and the Wildpeak. I currently have open country 265/70/17 and want to keep the same size but want the best tire for winter driving up here in northern Idaho/eastern Washington
I'm going to wear my goodyears out before I put anything new on but when I do I'm just going to upgrade to 265/75/16 ironman AT 10 ply tire they're about 17/32 of tread so that's nice to have a thick tread + 10 ply... But nice setup u have! I hope your happy with it🛻💨💯👍👍 I don't have a lot of 💰 so I have to get what's cheap & what works for my setup. & The ironman rated 4.8 of 5.0* they also make a mud terrain in the same size but I do too much street driving for a MT.
Same here. I ordered my 2023 TRD Off-road with the factory 2” leveling kit. I thought that I would need larger tires. Nope. I’ll wear out the the stock Wrangler’s then replace them in more aggressive 265’s.

I would have preferred buying an Access Cab over the Double Cab, but our parents are getting to the age that they can’t drive anymore, so we’ve now become our parents’ taxis. Nonetheless my Tacoma will outlive me.
Truck looks amazing ! Make sure to use 91 octane fuel your Tacoma will liven up, that 3.5 is a high compression motor 11.6:1 to be exact . You will get better MPG and it will be peppier, I noticed that with my 21 Tacoma OR 4x4 after a few fill ups I no longer use 87octane strictly 91 …..
I’m getting 24mpg when I cruise it at 65-70mph , and I have a 1.5 inch lift with 32inch tall tires , city I get about 20mpg I don’t have a heavy foot like I use to , so that contributes to the better MPG’s

Why isn’t your side wall super thick like the other size tires
I would have to put a taller tire on these rims or get small diameter wheels.
What is the LARGEST tire size that you can put on your Tacoma without having to shave any body parts on a 16” wheel?
SICK DUDE!

Me neither until I got this Lunar Rock. Looks about perfect to me!
You won’t get ground clearance from a lift it will allow you to run larger tires that will give you ground clearance.
Any rubbing?
None! yet at least. I have been medium offroad and these tires are 31.9"
