I can always remember the start of gigs...and wondering if I was going to PUKE scream laugh, or melt into a jibbering reck..then as the music hit me....FARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR .brilliant...............
OH my goodness, my heart explodes at 3:02! Everyone looks to be having the time of their lives on this tune, especially Bill on keys! I have watched this an insane amount of times and simply cannot get enough. Wish I could have seen them live.
I saw them in Oxford around the time this was recorded. They were every bit as brilliant as you'd expect. The interaction between Tim and Jim was hilarious!
I'm 13, in love with this band, and am devistated to be so young that i never saw them before That thing happened... nevertheless, this band is awesome! :D
That's amazing my young friend that you discover (and like!) them at age 13. This band lives in its own cosmos. You will get addicted to them. I can only either listen to the Cardiacs - or any other music. Saw them live in 1989 and it's still the best concert I have ever seen in my life. Pure madness.
I'm 54 and only discovered them two years ago. They've ruined me - I try to find new songs on Spotify and, if I know within the first minute the structure of the song, I'm just turned off. I've tried playing Cardiacs to my two children (25, 21) and they just look at me and say "WTF" so huge kudos to you for 'getting it'!
I found them in the age of something around 12 but I ignored them, and after a few years I gave them a second chance and from that day cardiacs are almost the only thing I listen to
this makes me want a time machine so bad so that I can do that again. Mostly all I can remember is opening the door for Sarah and running away from her, and waiting outside. To think of the pedestrian shite that was about at this time. Stagecraft, dear people, was definitely an undervalued thing back then with most po-faced "indie" fare. And yes. I do wish it was on a dvd. it would look and sound amazing. hope things get sorted.
Wow! Just wow! How can something be so weird but yet so beautiful. Virtually been on loop for the last hour. Especially love the part after the 3 minute mark.
EXHILIRATING!! Wasn't at this gig (before I discovered them), but a regular live, mind-blowing, neck-aching, spiritual high! Intense, wonderful, amazing, downright beautiful!
I wasn't at this gig either...but almost went (don't even remember why I didn't end up going, which is worse!). It was around the time I saw them a lot, so when I watch this it feels as though I was there anyway...exactly the same pure joy, energy and bliss. RIP Tim.
Absolute insanity.....love it to death! As a drummer, I have to say that it would take me about 3 months to learn this, and even then probably fail. Get well soon, Tim.
This is the greatest music video of all time, thank you so much for putting what looks like the whole thing up on you tube, I have been trying to get a copy for years! Where are all the viewers?
after weatching most of these mares nest videos, i want the loosefish scapegrace from cardiacs live, or even the one from songs for ships and irons, i can't find it on here, which is annoying, because i want to spam people of facebook with it
This whole concert is a testament to how incredible this band was.
So glad I got to see them live, I know people even now who are just discovering them and becoming enthralled, poor bastards.
Just look and watch Sarah. She makes a fantastic ROCK STAR!
Goodbye Mr Quy x
I so wish I was aware of this band earlier I would have loved to see them live

8 years later...it's on DVD now but, weirdly. I prefer my VHS copy...the dodgy quality actually enhances the experience somehow.

Pure beautifullness.. if ther is such a word

It doesn't work. My of my friends are mystified by it :( (And some are all "Holy shit where has this music been all my life?!?!!"
er...SONG! (Got carried away... haha). Such is reminiscing about Cardiacs in the day (early 90's - John Poole era) for me.
